Like the title says.. is it worth crafting equipment while leveling or will it all be replaced by quest items? I love crafting and gathering while leveling I dont mind the slow progression at all but in the end will it be worth it??
Is crafting worth it while leveling?

Quest/Dungeon items will always out-compete crafted items. If, in your opinion, that statement qualifies it as not worth it, then so be

for completing dungeon equipment sets you need crafting skills and the best jewelry set is crafted as well ![]()
on char i level now i craft basic equipment and then replace if something better comes. but @ lvl 30 i made him full crafted armor set as i expected a lot of time spent in the betex void and theres nothing better till 35. will probably keep the set till i get items which will have higher stats increase than bonus from the set (till 36-37?, i dont plan to run to3 many times).

I started crafting as soon as I started, and my armor helps a lot. Better then most quest armor i've seen, although I wouldn't know about the dungeon sets.

i use crafting a lot
yes you can sometimes get better armour dropped but you have to wait for it, if you can craft it yourself you don't have to run that grisly place that you hate waiting for it to drop only to see a team member beat you on the dice ![]()
you always need to craft a hat to make a dungeon set, it is nice if you can craft your own instead of asking someone else to do it
jewellery is fairly easy to level and it is nice to make a little trinket to go with dropped jewels, alchemy and cooking almost level themselves as you need food and pots on a regular basis
and best of all, you get artisan points for doing dailies and the higher your level the more AP you get, the more AP you get the more flakes you get, yummy, use them for crafting gear or selling for EP ![]()
i tended to do all the gathering skills as i was running around, picking fruit, skinning mobs i killed or wielding an axe on a rare node as i ran past, farming i hate but do it while watching a good movie
of course you can skip crafting and buy all your flakes or beg other people to make you stuff or spend a small fortune on bought pots, it is up to you

You'll level slower if you craft at the same time, but you will level. Be sure to do as many crafting dailies as you can--they give a lot of xp.
I'm doing it because I also enjoy crafting and didn't want to be dependent on others for gear, etc. I haven't hit max level yet, but I've been able to keep my crafting around my level, so my (and my alts') gear hasn't really suffered.
They're releasing new content soon and raising the level cap, so level 45 won't be so important anymore. I figure I'll just max out my crafting and be ready for level 47 & 50.

Found this very useful! Thanks for all the replies to this random persons post ![]()
I absolutely love crafting (in fact, couldn't play a game without it these days)... Glad to see it serves a purpose!

jewellery is fairly easy to level
I'm intrigued you say this. I guess I only tried seriously to level jewellery towards the end of beta, and it may have been rebalanced since then. But even so, the fact that you have to gather both crystals and metals (both of which I find boring) has definitely kept jewellery at the bottom of my skilling list.
Robet (Proph 49) Orbet (mage 49) Ebrot (magepro 49)
Tebor (warsin 49) Orteb(sin 49) Beort (warsin 49 - might become tank)
Betro (ranger 49) Trobe (??? 6 - there for bene runs - just whisper)

Really? I am working my way towards level 30 in weaponsmithing, because I want to make an Argent Greatsword. It is so much better than the level 28 Alluring Maul I got from a quest.
Am I missing some level 30 two handed weapon from a dungeon/quest that is better than the Argent Greatsword?

There is no level 30 dungeon so I assume yes, the level 30 weapons that are craft able is better. I haven't gotten any weapons from quests latley either.

What's making it difficult for you?
If you need help with builds, can make a post in game help forum and players can help offer suggestions.
There also might be other build threads already posted if you want to search.
Or if there's something you don't understand, game help forum works too.
Or asking in world chat.

This game is too hard to play
I think it is easy actually.
Perhaps it is because I am used to Runescape where leveling up takes years.
