Hi guys,

I have been developing my main character as a pure Ranger, which has been satisfying because of the DPS and the long range attacks, that crush foes without barely being hit by them. Now, however, I'm thinking about doing a "metamorphosis" of my main character (Re-Spec, new equipment, the whole package) to Mage, or even a Mage-Prophet hybrid, since the ranged attacks are equivalent, and you seem to have more mass-effect spells and you can actually use magic to heal yourself, which I can't at-all as a Ranger. What are you thoughts on that?

Mage/Prophet is definitely better in the sense that you can heal yourself in game, during dungeons, also in PvP to give yourself that edge. I haven't played the game in awhile but 2 of my 3 chars are both mage and ranger and lvl 45's so I would know. Looking forward to seeing you and others in game pretty soon. ~NubChronicles

Most** mages don't get into dungeon runs and there is a reason for that [Usually the group consists of: 1 ranger, 1 warsin, 1 sinwar [DOT hopefully], 1 healer, and the tank]... I would stick with being a ranger.

Well I get hella lot of runs lol simply because high DPS (my private build allows) and off heals were a thing when I played at least for me lol.

Stick with being a Ranger until you have all the ascended relics for a Mage set, if you do decide to switch.

Doja - Level 47

Spellthor - Level 47

Deadeye - Level 36

Deputy_Junior - Level 26

Mike_Rotch - Level 24

My second character is mage (atm lvl 30) and that would suck if she won't be able to get runs.

I assume most are saying mages aren't asked to go to lvl 45 dungeons? or is this like most all the dungeons from t03 on?

what's the point of even trying for a mage  *sadface* if they won't be invited to them.

I don't know if that's true or we just have to hope at least our friends will take us as I know a few mages who are 45 and get runs but I don't know if it's hard for them to find runs or not.

I was going for pure mage.  (I"m just a pve player btw so pvp builds etc. wont' really apply to me).

I"m not sure I understand how to build a mage/proph or proph/mage but I know I am not ready to build a character for healer purposes other then having a few basic skills on her to heal myself when questing etc.

I hope it's not totally hopeless since I wanted to have my first two characters be ranger and mage.

her attributes are all in sorc. and so far all talents were placed in mage trees.

I think I put 1 point recently in the talent that helps my mana that I saw in the prophet tree but thats' about it.

I think I'll get a screenie of her talents and post so those with mages can let me know how her talents look so far.

well hopefully as she levels and progresses maybe if they aren't that popular to invite to dungeons my friends can help me some in there and tell me best how to use her when in there.

I still want to continue as a mage on her being she's the first mage I've really tried in an mmo.

so far I was only really interested in being range dps in this game as I enjoy that roll.

my first mmo I did fighters since the game I started with from what I read said fighter was a good starter class for a newbie and back then I really enjoyed being one.  I could dps or tank and had a lot of fun.

Later I had a healer as well and then in another game stuck with fighter as my main.

wasn't till I came back to my first mmo that my two mains ended up being another healer and archer.

I found I really liked being range dps and kiting in that game for me was really fun.

this is the first game I thought I'd take a shot at a mage as well so I hope she gets the chance to do the things my ranger does ie. dungeons.

Slow but steady wins the race or something like that.

I'm just taking it slow, not sure about the steady.

ascended relics come from ASV and ARG which are the two 45 dungeons that have dailies and those give  you asc relics towards your fable set.  you need 300 relics for a complete set, 100 relics for each piece.

What do u mean with sinwar and warsin? And what do u think about the famous mage prophet hybrid?
