Hello all, its time for another weekly edition offfff…… no really minddrages weekly rants sounds kinda lame…. comment new rant names XP.
SO my topic for this week is PVP balancing, mostly breaking a few of the misconceptions of what needs to be nerfed and/or changed.
I have noticed (combing through forum posts for information and stances on classes) that most people think that the weakest class in pvp is warrior. First-off i would like to point out that the warrior is the ONLY class able to effectively stun, snare and silence without problems. Arguably the mage/prophet can do it also, but they need to get in close to snare and that is a fairly big risk to them. Rangers can argue that with despair talents they can do it too, but talents in prophet are not effective for rangers. So warrior is the only class able to effectively do this. Warrior also has frenzy, which is actually very powerful. There is actually more to frenzy then most people know. Frenzy gives you immunity to snares and stuns for 30 seconds… BUT also gives you 45% critical strike and 75% mana regen. I would like to point out that with 2 points in blood lust, you will also gain 10% melee haste for 20s every time you crit.
Warrior also has the second highest amount of bleeds (second only to sin’s). This allows you to (with a few points in sin which is optional) gain acid pool dealing 70% for 10s, sear dealing 45% for 10s, rupture dealing 35% for 10s and spires dealing 50% for 6s. WHen i bleed sombody on my new build i can bleed around 10-12k damage if they stay in the acid pool.
Unless you are a very good ranger or a very bad warrior, most warriors cannot be kited. If you stun them, slow them and bleed… most rangers are finished. If you do what i stated in the first paragraph you have about 8 seconds to apply your bleeds and deal massive damage.
Also Most prophet mages are fairly weak beside my old build. My jolt did 250% dmg, server 140% and rush gave me 10% more attack. That would most likely pop the plasma shield and then you would hit them with other moves and then reap them.
Last but not least, my last point for warrior is that with bane you can deal double the damage. With your “bane in a cone” you can hit the person once for 150% damage and then a second time for 150% to all in front of you.
Rangers are the weakest class by far. their dot’s can be removed, and they dont have a lot of damage. They are usually forced to use sheilds which helps them a bit but hurts then in other ways. I feel that rangers should get a bit stronger.
My final point may anger a lot of people…. but who cares right! I feel that HEALS OVER TIME should be nerfed. ok so prophets can heal with all their HOT’s on 30% with rejuvinate, 100-240% with benediction, 3% max hp with redeem and a bunch more with other talents. I think that healing power or the heal over time skills should be reduced by about 5-10% healing power or more depending on the skill.
SOOOOO IN CONCLUSION! SCREW ALL OF U WHO THINK MELEE IS WEAK! COME FIGHT ME OR SOME OTHER MELEER’S WHO ARE GOOD! SOME MELEER'S SHOULD REVISE THEIR BUILDS! MAKE A GOOD BUILD AND PVP OR DONT CRY IF U HAVE A BAD BUILD AND CANNOT PVP!
NERF HEALING OR MAKE RANGERS MORE POWERFUL! RAGE OUT!
