I know this may be a long shot but what if the secure percentage was changed to 75% instead of 50%. And the TKP needed to buy the item was altered to compensate for that.

That would decrease the number of Titans secured drastically. Meaning less Epics in the game and said Epics being more, well, "EPIC"..

New epics introduced would be a little harder to come by, and even the Magic Hunters I've heard tales of would have a rough time making the secure if an average hunter was there to challenge them.

If recipes were introduced that required the lesser valued epics at a low rate, they would eventually fall back in demand. (Colossus Flail, Deepwater Choker, and others)

Just a thought,

Why is it about "those that hunt them" maximising their profits ?

What's wrong with letting supply and demand determine price ?

Now that BG has hinted (at least) that epics may be used in recipes to improve them, the price will surely recover any drop in price that the new buffs / quicker secures will / have cause(d)

Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.

Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?

I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

'supply and demand' is perfect until everything is in surplus with no means to head back downwards and nothing new is there to replace it, sometimes a new theory needs to replace an old one until its full circle, in a perfect world itd be great if everything was cheap and we all had what we wanted but it doesnt fuel the furnace so to speak :)

Cool down drastically changed the titan hunting atmosphere ... so is Titan Doubler. we just have to adjust to it and see how it pans out. If you actually think about how cool down works + being able to secure titans quicker ... it puts people on cool down quicker which opens up titan hunting to more guilds.

Also securing level 1000 or higher titans was a 3.5-5 hours ordeal before, which now can be done in 1-2 hours which is reasonable.

BG and the cows are in favor of this buff so its going to stay unless 60-70% of the active player base flooded them with tickets on how much they hate it. and I don't see that happening.

Getting back to the OP, been suggested before for a higher % to secure. I say NO, keep it as it is.

The cooldown will be staying at 50%. Titan Hunting is not about profit. It's about Guilds working to earn their own epics. Something we are seeing a lot more of since the change.
