I'm going to copy and paste what I wrote in another (non-Eldevin forum) so I don't have to type it all out again.

I have an older Dell that handles games like WoW fine. It has 4 GB RAM, a 500 GB hdd, an Intel Core 2 quad Q8200, an HD7750, a 550W power supply from EVGA, and is running 64 bit Vista.

After a couple hours of play, my entire system freezes. My RAM is maxed out in task manager. Javaw.exe is using 2.7 million K memory. Sometimes I'm able to exit Eldevin; most of the time I have to restart the computer via holding down the power button. Please help me troubleshoot this. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled both 64 bit and 32 bit Java a few times. I'm running the most current AMD drivers for Vista. Unfortunately, that means the driver and CCC are from 2013.

I uninstalled Java again and looked for traces on the computer. I found some Java files leftover, and I deleted them. I ran CCleaner as well. I also uninstalled Steam, ran CCleaner, and reinstalled Steam and Eldevin. I reinstalled 32 bit Java but not 64 bit. I've done /chkdsk and /sfc scannow. I've used Window's memory diagnostic tool. Still same problem. It hasn't been an issue with other games or applications as far as I can tell.

That is definitely an abnormal amount of memory for the game to be using.

The Java heap is configured at 1024M for the Steam version which generally rules that out (unless the number has been changed in Eldevin.l4j.ini).

It sounds more likely that memory is being allocated to jogl and not being freed (most likely textures with that much). It could either be due to Eldevin itself or the driver that this is happening. We'll try to see if we can find out more.

I have mentioned this bug before. It only happens to me if I minimize the client with the minimize button. If I switch windows to do something else it stays fine. But the moment you touch that minimize button you're in trouble.

It has got to the point now where I don't bother worrying about it as I have trained myself not to press it, but will still see others doing it and complain about it.
