I prefer the orange flavour.

Thankfully I managed to find a UK seller a few years back, the Stateside candy co.  http://www.americansweets.co.uk/

69p sachets make 2quarts.

When in doubt. Blame lag ;)

All I can think of looking at this thread is bug juice from summer camp :)

(Guessing this is strictly an American term...  At camp they would make the powdered drink.  Whatever was leftover from one day would be thrown into the next days batch.  By the end of a 2-week session, it becomes an undifferentiated sugar concoction that tasted even worse then the original flavors, but the bugs all loved it.  Became very adept at picking them out before drinking.)

Have to post again to correct this.  Kool-aid does not contain any juice or juice derivatives.  It's strictly sugar (or some other sweetener for sugar free), artificial flavors, and a few more chemicals such as coloring.

When first released it was supposed to be called 'Kool-Ade' just to give the impression it's somewhat like lemonade.  The FDA made them change it, as 'ade', by definition (at least in the US), must contain at least some juice.  Kool-aid is the epitome of fake.

You'll be closer if you think of it as the really cheap, generic brand of soda without the fizz.  And even more inexpensive.

(I personally preferred the grape flavor myself)
