Weapon uniqueness?

I'd like to see weapons such as one handed swords differentiated from other one handers like claw/fist weapons at ALL levels.

 

Similar to what they may do in other games, perhaps have swords be slower than claws but have a bigger damage base.

 

If their base weapon speeds stay the same, then maybe have special innate mods attached to weapons. Like make swords have a base %damage and/or block/defense bonus while smaller weapons like daggers and claws have a base %crit and/or accuracy bonus.

I assume you want something apart from the random rolls; weapons with special abilities/traits? Hmm....

he means that for example the infernal sword and infernal wrist blade have exactly the same stats

 

what he's asking is for them to have different stats wich can be beneficial for certain types of gameplay

 

 

faster attacks on the wrist blade for sins to stack blood thirst more if they build like that with a minor loss in damage

where the sword get's more damage and less attack speed

 

shame that they are exactly the same atm tho :/

 

 

polearm and other 2h melee weps do have the difference tho! :)

 

and bows and xbows aswell :)

Indeed you see some differences when comparing other weapons. Although I would prefer those to adopt a system not unlike the one I suggested above.

It would add more fun and diversity when considering your a weapon of choice for your character build.


If nothing else, only to appease the physics nerds.A 20-30 pound sword should not swing faster than a 5-10 pound cestus. Ignoring of course the laws of physics in fantasy universes vary greatly depending on the game. :)

yeah I always thought it wierd they include the weapon speed stat and dont utilise it more.

 

You could even combine it with crafting to refine weapons and make them faster.
