Not that keen on the idea of adding a new item type to the game, but I do like the idea of potentially having vanity items - would need some more thought though as to how it would work :)

I agree, and add in the scenario of players deciding the devs can't handle it, instead of letting the devs decide. There have been times when I have thought of things that might be altered a bit to make them better (composing interface for one), but haven't bothered to post here because I see too many ideas get shot down with nothing more than, "The cows have enough to do." or "Sounds like too much coding." or "There are other things that need fixing first." or "We're still waiting for new rewards for xyz." Then there are some who will agree or disagree with an idea solely based on who posted it. So I don't waste my time creating such posts anymore. :(

I'm probably one of those negative nelly's but seriously, everyone thinks their own ideas are the greatest things since sliced bread and should receive immediate feedback from HCS or polled to see it implemented or whatever. As others have lamented, we are our own worst enemies wanting this and that and HCS gives it to us for better or usually worse. We all love to speculate how hard things are and how "easy" it would be to do stuff.

For me personally, the highest priorities for change should be on any that result in either gaining or retaining players. So for the suggestions, simple question, will this change help gain and/or retain players? the mobile version they are working on is a yes and a yes so no brainer and should be top priority. This change? IMHO, meh... keep working on the mobile platform. Ideas should still be thrown out but I don't think we should expect them to be implemented. Just considered... if there are a lot of excitement, lets share it with the general population and go from there, otherwise work on the high priority stuff... again just my unwanted 2 cents.

In Eldevin, it seems vanity items are sold between players more than actual gear is. Though that may have something to do with the fact that we still lack an auction house for easier viewing/trade of stat items, as well as that dungeon gear is bound, but still, shows that many players (at least over there) will pay for "looks".

As far as how it would work, just do the same as in Eldevin: When you're viewing a player, you have two tabs/buttons: one for regular gear, and one for vanity gear.

Now, since we don't have live characters running around in FS, only items in squares, vanity gear wouldn't have quite the same effect, but those who have extra resources to spend might be interested in having something like that.

If we got vanity items in FS, someone could get the pink sparkly tutu he's always wanted.  BTW, Eldevin has one, if you're interested. ;)

[I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the idea of vanity items in FS, just commenting on the popularity in the other game and logistics of it.]

This makes me think of a purse, which I can never find anything in. I don't need help hiding things from myself.

They need to wear these men bags, or  satchels, to work with some grass and diet cokes to fuel up and stay on top of this game's updates. ;)

I do like the idea of creating a new "item", but not to count as an item itself, like some games have the 'Aura' thing, but for me none of those Auras should give any stats or work with them, something like +1 stam gain, +X% XP Gain, X5 chance of use no stamina while walking and +X% of an Enhancements (not the ones working in PvP battle, something like Holy, Banishment, Oceanic, Master Blacksmith, etc).

Nothing that makes a great difference into the game, but something to put inside storylines and EP Quests, none of them would be tradable or able to be bought anyway, something to players to work doing quests and etc.
