Now, first off, let me EMPHASISE that this isn't a "CALLING OUT" of the cows, merely a listing of "unfinished business" that they may or may not still be aware of but is still in need of completion.

I also know that this is coming up to the busiest time of the year for the cows, with Xmas coming and all, but this isn't a "DO NOW!!" post either ..


1. Eons ago, new skills appeared (http://fallensword.c...ls&subcmd=guide) including, but not necessarily all, IMMOBILISE TITAN, PERFECTION, TRENDY and WARCRY. I thought there were more but a quick scan thru just makes these ones stand out. Now, these MAY have already been implemented but I can find no mention of them if they are. I believe, from memory, that they were to be new inventing potions ?

2. The old chestnut ... "PRESENT DARKNESS (EPIC)" quest

3. The quests from Level 2500 thru to Level 2599

4. Implementation of more facets of the FALLEN SWORD HELPER with the ultimate goal of banning ALL scripts

I'm sure there other things unfinished that can be mentioned by others.

 

(For those about to take a pop at this post, and heaven knows, there are some that will/would, I'd like to repoint you to the text in YELLOW above ... )

I'm kind of afraid to say anything these days, lol. There are actually quite a few more things to add to the list, but...

 

1. Perfection might be taken off? I'm not too sure, but there is a Ladder reward that has it. I'm not sure if the other stuff has been implemented.

 

2. Would be nice, lol.

 

3. Quests, what quests? Lol... I'd add (being level 11xx) that I'd like some see some items for 1600-1800, lol. Is that an on-topic addition?

 

4. I'd like to see that, but... well, Pointy did post here: https://forums.hunte...e-4#entry953096It's post #67 in this thread. It makes me think that elimination will never happen. I'd still like to see advancement and the "ultimate goal" carried out.

This thread is currently out-dated. Our main focus right now is on the mobile / tablet interface for the game, but we're going to look at also posting up an updated list of improvements that we are looking to get implemented soon.

It's funny how now that 1600-1800 isn't EoC and more people have reached there that HCS have said they'd add more commons in.

 

Personally I find that quite outrageous, especially given the fact I vehemently argued for this for AGES while I was going through those levels when they were new. Whereby I was told that I should just go hunt somewhere else, or "high levels have it good enough already" etc etc

 

They should stay as they are, I find they idea of them being changed now to frankly be disgusting and a slap in the face.

I still don't understand why it needs to go away. If suggested targets worked right(VL instead of AL) then there would be nothing at all wrong with it. Sure it could be improved but just because attack links are on profiles doesn't mean that page has no use.

When they first made those common-less levels, there was no composing to make the items useful. And the (then) useless normal creature drops were abolished to reduce the amount of new artwork needed for new content so that new content releases could happen faster.

 

So then a new aspect came into the game (composing) and of course the existing game should change to accommodate that. The fact that it took us a while to convince the COWS of that fact (i.e. common item drops were needed again) really doesn't make the change a bad thing.

 

I did go through those levels without common item drops, and that left me thinking it was "outrageous" that they should stay without commons.

That's working on the 'Find Player' page, the Attack Page does nothing at all.

You know the game gets easier for players, and always has. Complaining that now others have more opportunity, have it easier playing than you had after so many years is seen everywhere - skill levels, stam gain, gear. I doubt adding some commons is really what bugs you!

Good of you to bring up a to-do list. You may not want to "call out" anyone but it is exactly what you have done. I commend you for being honest. Good for you!  I've been critical of Hoof for the lack of FS development time. How many fires does he have burning simultaneously these days? The game has suffered for a few years now because of what I believe is his reduced time commitment to FS with so many other projects, running the HCS business, family, etc. Communication with players has always been minimal, but it's obvious how much less attention the game gets today. What should we expect? At this stage the game is still supported somewhat. New stuff and fixes can't be expected with much regularity. I'd rather call it as it is rather than dance around the truth trying not to offend. Honesty is constructive. If we're wrong they need to communicate that fact and show us!.

I thought those barren levels were another aspect. We all remember the 180's where we had to start getting many more buffs, the 400's with xindy and the 900's or 1000's with karthak. So I assumed the 1600-1800's were like a desert to grind through. I think it should be kept as is. We are already too reliant on the events and this hurts the sellers when we make it too abundant. Instead of farming on our own or buying from the newer players we beg for more events. At least keeping the desert will force those going through the "horrible" 1600-1800's to have to make some adjustments and get creative on how to keep the composing going.

Fixing the map is unfinished business. The continuous "You cannot move more than 1 square at a time.", that happens on every map (not only Titan maps) needs to be fixed.

Being below level 1200, I only found out about it because of my frag buyers. I was told (and it rings a bell) that HCS made a huge content rush to get to 1800 at the time for EOCers. 

 

I get the idea that the emphasis was on content and that artwork takes time. I know that's a huge pressure push for HCS... but they have gone back after other content was released to add quests and tend to later add the Master Realms. It seemed odd to me, since 5 frag items theoretically start at 1601. 

 

Based on memory, recent content updates have only included one common drop every 25 levels. That seemed a bit skimpy to me. But here it's 200 levels. That seems a bit much to me.

 

Again, as a frag farmer, it's theoretically against my interest for this to be updated. Simply put, it doesn't seem "logical" to me. Note that I didn't say "fair", I said "logical". 

 

Well hey, maybe HCS can make an official statement and we can put it to bed, one way or the other.

You can call it unfinished business, I call it a desert. Consider level 101-220ish? That is also a relatively sparse range for commons. You can find a ton of commons in that range but the vast majority are sold in the stores and the few that are dropped are one or two of eight items dropped by mobs. If anything, this range should get more commons before the 1600-1800 range. The reason I researched this range is from the excitement by some of my old low level farmers when they realized they could finally farm 2 frag items. Not so fast. They'd have to get into low 200's to start reaping that benefit.

First off, I commend Pardoux for going about this the RIGHT WAY. The cows are busy / overwhelmed at times with the tasks at hand. Many projects get put on the back burner for months and sometimes years.

 

I would like to add some to the list,  :D

 

To do list: 

 

1) Remove inactive accounts level 20 or under that are 2 years or more inactive. They are not coming back to the game and they are bogging down the servers. Think how much cleaner / efficient the game would run if we remove accounts that were never coming back to the game / items they are holding / etc.  All of that uses data which could be spent better on active players trying to play the game.

 

2) Updating USFG to include all invention information. Often times links are missing from resources to invented items, and vice versa.

I agree. I hope they start hiring people.
