These two elites are the first elites which let new players hunt and farm their own completed sets.. But I think they are too tough(stamina consuming) to find and hunt with the buffs one would have access to during the start even with Animal Magnetism and a high level find item (1000) its still rough getting the whole set.. Lots of walking and hoping..

I'm recommending that these elites get more populated or gain better drop rates.. Or change to a smaller map

Also suggest that the beginning levels get looked at again with an expanded tutorial including more aspects of the game and better understanding of buffs and farming sets

Skill points should be explained about on first level up.. Pointed to where it is, explain what buffs do in general - limit assigning any skill points til level 10+.. Show where the buff market is quick - tell them they can come back here once they get more gold.. Then move them back to the World to carry on with quests about potions..

Quest giver casts Find Item and Resource Finder on player to help them gather resources to return to the quest giver.. They give you a bottle and the recipe and cast Extractor.. You create an Adept Learner potion.. All buff and potion levels are low so players are encouraged to search elsewhere.. AL potion could be something that they might gather more of or search in auction house later on.. Remember they can't get their own buffs till level 10+

Then you go onto creatures and item drops for a couple realms equipping better items .. Have them get enough stats with all the equipment from drops and rewards to fight an elite.. Explain spawns, drop rates, crafting.. Make them build a set.. To control drop % of filling up backpack before getting whole set.. When backpack gets full, teach them about the auction house and breaking down items for composing..

Four Leaf buff/potion could be a reward. Hope it has the player farm it more to get perfect items, or make them.. Explain hellforging but strongly advise against spending FSP on HFing now or on certain item rarities.. Whisper about different creature rarities like champion, super elite, titans, and legendary..

Now you should be level 6+ .. Either take this time to go through ALL the side menus one by one to give a quick mention of every page.. Or just move to the next handful of levels getting stronger, onto future quests and realms.. Just link it with the epic quest with random question spots that point out different pages on Fallen Swords..

This would be handy for new players, the exact way how to do it is not clear to me for now though.

Make a quest for the infernus or frostbite set.. Each step has you get another item.. So you keep killing the elite till you get the items and when you are done you have to wear the completed set to finish quest..

The quest giver could give information on Find Item, Animal Magnetism (works on instant spawn elites), and Light Foot.. Even conserveand reckoning too.. But Find Item and Light Foot would be the two most important at the start.. Could even start the quest with making potions for each (favorite route) or just given already drinkable potions.. Could also give extra tips on potions/buff market as well for further information on finding them in the future

Even though it might sound like a great idea. Personally dont think complicated quest like that are good in start of game would frustrate players. Still remember starting game, skipped all quest.  Started doing those if my LF is running and no new titan spawns. Not only that how many people even know how to use buffs early on in the game.

There is a lot to process in a new game so where do you cross the line from enough info to get you started or information overload?  It's very easy for a new player to run up a bunch of levels and I think it's better for them to get the basic feel of the game than have every single facet explained to them by level 6.

You aren't going to get a full explanation of everything.. How you are told information is key.. Overelaborating would make it too messy but not enough info and its pointless..

To hold back because fear of info overload would probably hurt new players more. They see a simple, outdated game that they just see as killing and questing.. What keeps them if they aren't into that, just because they didn't learn about buffing, making potions, and collecting sets early enough to know there is much more to this game than trash drops and simple quests..

This game is all about buffs, potions, and sets.. We should be up front about it.. And not worry about babying new gamers.. Think the simple complex of each of those is easy enough for a gamer to follow..

I often to to that area to hunt for plants. And when doing so I see those elites constantly, they respawn instantly and there seem to be more of them at one time. So I really do not get that point.

Same for the drop rate. It does not have to be improved, because you do not need those setups to advance in the game at that point. If anything needs to be improved it are the stats from the drops of champions/elites in general so that players actually have useable sets to hunt for.

The tuturial and guide for the game could use an update. However keep in mind that while a starting player may be interested in composing or inventing, for many it will be to expensive to even get started with it.

Somehow everybody, mainly at the start of the game feels a very strong rush to level up asap, so players won't bother with making their own potions, it costs to much stamina to make a bookworm, fury and doubler pot if you want to keep your levelling pace up. Same for farming your own frags, and the early stages of composing does not grant that great buffs to make that worthwhile, next to buying/farming your own frags. (which would also slowdown your levelling).

Starting players start in a little circle they only can get out of if they stick around long enough, or if they end up in a very supporting guild.

I really think there should be a "you should really join a guild" message. The very first thing you see. Other players are the ultimate tutorial. Sure you can get a "mentor" but that's just one person who might not be playing while you are. With a guild you have a better chance of people being on to inquire about things and who actually have a vested interest in helping you.

Have you tried farming a whole set? With Find Item or even without as a new player might? I spent 500 stamina with Light Foot, Conserve, Reckoning, and a Find Item potion and got one frostbite set and not even close to a full infernus set..

Yes, those sets aren't neeed to advance but why not give new players a better chance to farm their own set. To feel acomplished and more powerful on their own.. Instead of having guilds toss stats from structures and fully forged legendary gear that takes any worry of figuring out stats.. Where you can slaughter anything for the first 20 levels wearing one set..

These are the first elites you'll see till after level 10.. Why let most, if not all new players, just skip that challenge and content..

Nope I have not tried. And while I apreciate the thought of making it more interesting (and I have always promoted making champs and elites more interesting to hunt) there is just no point in doing so I am afraid. Even if you would make it easier, still nobody will hunt them, not even for practice. Most new players just want to race through the levels. The good old days of hunting your own set is way behind us. :(

Backpack management is always on the mind of any gamer.. equipping items and selling items or destroying items to make room.. Most games have a 'vendor' to sell trash drops for gold.. We break down items into fragments and that is something that needs to be brought up to new players right away, if not directly part of the [Manage Backpack] page..  Naturally that page should of worked like the Break Down Item page for Composing.. that type of selection and interaction.. hopefully the cows eventually do that upgrade

That makes sense, replacing dropping for fragging is a very good idea. Though there are still some times that are dropped and/or are sold in shops and cannot be fragged, so both should be possible.

Letting players know they can frag or sell those items because of their fragging use, is a good thing. But the problem is that starting players have so many things to pick from that they can do, and most are expensive. I doubt getting actually into composing is not on their mind immediately as that also is an expensive hobby, next to wanting to upgrade your character.

They can't compose till they are level 50+ anyways so don't have to go into it too much.. Just how to break down items.. That fragments are used to create potions.. They can start to brew at level 50.. When they hit level 50, point them to the composing wiki (which is already in the Guides).. They will probably hear about composing before they hit that level and by the time they do, they'll either have a guild, allies, or strangers in global chat to help explain it
