Homer : Marge, don't discourage the boy. Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals .. except the weasel.
Eddie Izzard : The National Rifle Association say that guns don't kill people, people do. But I think the gun helps, you know ? I think it helps. I think just standing there going "BANG" - that's not going to kill too many people, is it ?
I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but it seems that everything I eat lately turns to poo ...

Of course I know PS and RA and not buffs. I was just stating that there was no reason I should have lost this battle. 2x dodge followed by a 2%, unreal bad luck.

Could always try to get some Armor with your Defense to hopefully have some other buffs/enhancements kick in if your Defense fails so your Armor/HP might still be enough to keep you alive.. Unless you can get enough of both Armor and Defense so you aren't relying on activations but more on pure stats from buffs
If you are trying not to lose, relying on one defensive stat is too risky

I know the 2% rule (on both attack and def) is on of the most hated in game. I think RJ's #4 post gives some could advice.
Even though it more often makes me growl than smirk, it reminds me a lot of when I was a kid (two weeks ago or so) and I played D&D. There was always that one roll on the dice which made the impossible possible.

I think Piercing Strike has an added attack multiplier (or also affects defense) that you aren't aware of. A lot of the 2%'s that I have seen through my history end with Piercing Strike activating. However, I know there are plenty that are just a "swing and miss" aka the 2% in the system.
As Reborn said - using other buffs like Force Shield, Last Ditch and other activation buffs can certainly help to mitigate the 2% actually causing a loss for you (as long as activations are good).

One more thing every player of fs needs to consider and is a fact to all games with battles is the random luck or aka suck factor. It is a random variable percentile set by those who develop the games. So based on based stats how that player has set up in gear too, with plus additions of range from potions and buffs and of course the the luck factor percentile that causes a slight unknown to all battles is the basic formula to the game. We can calculate to what we know of the game but the developers have the rest of the formula.
I respect the unknown and like the challenge of losses. It helps to give it a try next time to succeed and try other variables until the challenge is met. Keep in mind if the failure was with lower gear variables or buff/potions then update those aspects. If it is base states that is an unknown to all except player and that does affect where those points go. I hope this helps and I hope that hcs will stop by to explain more or possible outcomes. Thanks. ![]()

Yeah, but... as Hooftest's bio says, "Items featured on this character are not available for public use."

Was talking about Over-Powered unnecessary stat padding composing buffs
