I sense something fishy with those dates, yet what really concerns me is your attempt to make it look like you copied straight from your guild chat...who or what do you converse with in your guild chat? LOL :D

Next update for Daily Quests will be next week :)

Will that update mix it up better? Like, most of my dailies so far have been "kill x amount of creatures", then a few "walk x amount of tiles", 3 have been "defeat x amount of players in pvp", and one "join 4 arenas".... I would prefer reserve stamina as rewards, but I haven't gotten very much of that yet... mostly current stamina and allegiance tokens, something I have plenty of anyway. I do like the dailies tho, just want them mixed up better :D

I'm sitting at 43%, which slightly overstates the percentage of DQs I thought worth doing.

I hope the revision happens sooner rather than later

only at 50% myself

I'd still like to know what the specials column refers to in the arena lists.

I think it refers to the special movements. These movements you obtain each time you win the novice arena tournament. The basic movement has an icon of a clenched fist. The other movements have different icons, like fire, ice, shield and so on.

I believe you are correct. But I think I have known that for years :P

Also I'm kind of liking these token Rewards for the DQs. I may be able to actually purchase a gold chest key. Which I've never been able to do. Not that I would probably actually get to use it. But if anybody has a Chest location, only need one more for my bronze :-)

Okay I really don't feel much like going back over this whole post. I had a guild member a little while ago that had a daily Quest that was move X amount tiles. He went ahead about his leveling. And then at the end he realized he didn't get credit for moving the tiles. He was supposed to walk 500 miles. Then I noticed he was using a Lightfoot 1575 or something like that. Did it not count the tiles because he used Lightfoot???

Ok. Supposedly it took some time for it to register after he clicked back onto the map and walked around a few more steps. I know I've had to do a lot of refreshing here lately to make sure that my count is where I think it's at on a DQ. because it it no longer counts as you're doing it. And I know that's been brought up here lately. But I also did one the other day where the reward was, Max Stamina. It took several minutes before it was actually rewarded after I clicked the button. I had refreshed my page and checked my current stamina at the top of the page several times over several minutes before it actually showed up. I don't know if anyone else has had that problem

Thsnks for the resonse, MSC. The moves I was aware of, and I had guessed that they were part of "specials", but it was a guess and I did wonder whether they were the *only* thing covered by "specials". From what you say, I'm gathering that there isn't anything else to the "specials".

Seems liek the sort of thing that should be explained on the Arena pages.

Steps are only counted when Stamina is used (which, I think, is wrong)

A diagonal step only counts as 1 step, even though 2 stam is used (which, I think, is wrong)

A step is a step is a step and, as such, should be counted IMO.

Yes! It *is* wrong.  As I've already posted (more than once in this long thread), I have watched closely on a number of occassions and seen quite clearly that I have still had an extra tile counted every time LF has kicked in.

I have definitely been credited with visiting 400 tiles while using (due to LF) only ~320 stamina

A diagonal step only counts as 1 step, even though 2 stam is used (which, I think, is wrong)

A step is a step is a step and, as such, should be counted IMO.

If you read this DQ carefully, I think you will find it tells you to "visit" 400 tiles, not "walk" 400 tiles and definitely not "use 400 stam walking".

In a diagonal step, even though you use 2 stam, you only visit 1 tile. You also take only one "step". Try walking a mile with 40 inch steps or with 30 inch steps: you will get much more exhausted (i.e. use more stamina) with 40 inch steps, even though you travel the same distance. A step is *not* a s step is *not* a step as far as effort/stamina is concerned.

A diagonal "step" is still just one step, even though a horizontal-then-vertical step will get you to the same place in 2 steps. (Going down, left,up,up,right gets you to the same place as one step up, but certainly should still count as 5 steps, not 1 step!)

This quest does exactly what it says.

Having said that, I do suspect that the diagonal step is the reason why people think this DQ is not working properly. If you simply click-and-walk from corner to corner of a map, then the auto-router will give you diagonal steps along the way. The auto-router was designed to get from A to B with the least use of stamina. It does not guarantee you will visit the most tiles or take the most steps in the process.

If you want to get this quest efficiently, the *do* use LF and *do* stick to the awdx keys.

Incorrect. Tiles are counted, not stamina. Lightfoot works fine with that particular Quest. Pretty sure this has been clarified a couple of times now. Rowbeth above has the right of it.

I sit corrected - could have sworn LF didn't work. But, ok.

I still think that diagonal steps should count as 2 tiles tho, but at least that's easy to circumnavigate ...

That works too :)

We should change diagonal movement to 1 stamina.

That would make it much harder to work out the shortest route between any two points on a map---something those without teleport have to do all the time during hunts (move to next realm, move to quest point ...) or when returning to ones own level-map.

This diagonal movement *only* affects walking DQs, and is very easily avoided (just click horizontal or vertical displacements and make a few more clicks). It really is much easier to learn to live with it.

Never understood why a diagonal step used 2 stamina.

Don't know if you've noticed or not - but I have - that when you let the game  "auto-walk" between Point A and Point B, the game sometimes decide to walk diagonally and sometimes decides to do the Down/Left move (or whatever), where a diagonal would still be possible ...

Never understood why a diagonal step used 2 stamina.

Because it made it easier to code a diagonal movement against the wall.
