Left side bar: Click character then preferences and make sure there is not a tic mark in the ladder opt in box.
It is the first thing you see at the top of the game play page.
Good luck.

The problem you're having is because you need to wait until the current Ladder ends, but you can shortcut that by buying PvP Protection with gold upgrades

What I want to know is how I lost a GvG attack? I am on the defending Guild. I was hitting back. I didn't have a very high defense stat. But my attack was 11.5 k my armor was well over 8 k. My damage was over 10 .5 k. His attack was less than 8 K still, I knew he could probably get a hit in. but his damage was only 6 k, my Armor was Over 8 K. My target did NOT have any Buffs. I however had a boatload of BUFFS!
This is like the 4th or 5th time that it's happened. I know that some enchantments would help me to miss or him to hit. But that's what certain buffs are supposed to help you get around. I would not complain if his guildmates had buffed him and I lost. Like I said again they had made their attacks I'm on the defending Guild. None of their members were online none of my targets were buffed. I spent tons of gold to get buffed. To make sure that my stats were better than his. Only to lose!
It's left a bad taste in my mouth. Don't believe I will be logging back in for quite some time.
It's not like there's a lot to do, or many friends left to talk to. The only reason players get on nowadays is to do the frag farming from the globals so they can reach EOC in composing to make their overpowered pots.
I saw someone make a statement the other day in global chat. That a new player would probably choose not to stay once he realized it would take him 7 years to catch up to anybody who's at EOC. It might take less than that if they dumped tons of hard-earned RL money into the game.
Hopefully they won't get discouraged or disappointed trying to defend a GvG

Back on topic - I have a question that has never been addressed: how can a player leave the PvP Ladder after they can hit others consequence(bounty) free?
This is an integrity loophole, like a few others in the game, that will never be seriously considered let alone addressed because of the dire state of development in the game.

Never thought of that loophole but that's seriously something that needs to be addressed now thinking of it. If you force exit ladder should those attacks become bountyable, or should you not be able to force exit if you've hit anyone, or should you not be able to force exit at all.

Seriously, it should be one or the other. This will need a coder so I'm not holding my breath.

Should be a quick fix... Hopefully they have a few minutes to spare.

Hmm, so if you buy pvp protection it will remove you from the ladder. If you hit someone and lose your pvp protection, would you be put back on the ladder?

when you do use PvP Protection to fast exit the ladder, does it take you out of the running for that cycle? Cuz it really should. And imo, if you use this method to take yourself off the ladder, any attack you make should become instantly bountyable. It's a sheisty way to wiggle out of the major consequences of competing in this venue. Ask me, if you enter the ladder, can't change your mind midstream, you should have to finish the cycle and wait for reset like everbody else.
Yes, when players use the "sheisty way to wiggle" off the Ladder they are no longer in the running and the points they had acquired disappear from that cycle, otherwise this would have been addressed the first week(month) bountys were made ineligible on the Ladder. The issue was certainly raised, and ignored! I continue to agree that if you attack others it should not be consequence(bounty) free. If you bail out of the Ladder without attacking anyone, I don't see a problem to continue to let them save themselves. But if you've attacked others, then leave the Ladder, players need to open themselves up to the same consequences every PvP attack brings - a possible bounty!
Hmm, so if you buy pvp protection it will remove you from the ladder. If you hit someone and lose your pvp protection, would you be put back on the ladder?
Hahaha negative. There certainly would be a boost in gold PvP protection sales with attacks shortly thereafter if there were.

I was thinking if that was the case, it had to already be being seriously abused. I avoid the ladder because I don't like hitting friends. But I was starting to wonder if it might be worth it anyway. ![]()
