Thanks for the update, but making crafting and gathering easier makes me nervous even as a more casual player. Granted, I still need to test the changes on my account.

i honestly think that lowering the level required to gather resources is a bad update

 

it basically allows some1 to gather their rare materials without putting any effort into leveling it first

 

mining silver with lvl 20 mining instead of 48

farming ramie with lvl 20 farming instead of 48

 

i honestly see no reasoning to lower this...

 

if people want it they got to grind it this is just awkward.

 

 

 

i'm not sure by what factor the experience gained for crafting professions was buffed but anything above a 1.5 multiplier is just insane ...

 

 

 

also did you get the problems with mounting and demounting the unicorn since that also would give issues.

reach level cap faster, reach skill cap faster, leave game faster? yep the devs are killing this game off so it seems :o

i think the exp are to hige atm and to get silver on lv 20 are WTF but i can understand if it are to get quest items.

i mean the grind to max gathering skills is massive since you can only produce for example one product that you won't need for crafting untill you got that into high levels and most of the gathering materials like silver oak ramie and other lvl 48 gathering stuff is basically not needed to level up crafting.

 

 

and since you get less exp for gathering lower tier items than your current tier cap the grind will be massive for new players trying to level stuff up together with their crafting professions/skills.

 

 

i would strongly suggest reverting this change

also maybe a suggestion to make the redeem deliverence talent not cause percentage heals but heals based on casters healing power or spell dps.

 

right now basically every pvp build has this talent

 

would change up pvp a bit more

Was this update actually thought through before implementing?

 

I personaly think

  • Increased the experience reward granted for completing all quest.
  • Slightly increased the experience gained from gathering resources.
  • The skill level required for gathering resources has been reduced significantly.
  • Greatly increased the experience gained for crafting.

are a very bad idea, for several reasons.

 

Firstly it is a bit of a slap in the face for all the players who have worked so hard the last few years, to reach the levels they are at present, when the new players can reach the same levels with far less effort and time.

 

Secondly as the setup was, players had to work to reap the benefits of their labours, and could have a real sense of achievement as they went up the levels, but making it easier will just mean everyone will have lvl49 characters with lvl49 professions all round in next to no time and so you will get even more players banging on HCS's door for level 50 to be brought out.

 

Thirdly, this will also mean, players will bypass dungeon armour sets even more than they do now. For example, by the time a player has got all the relics for his lvl20 vault set, he will already be at lvl 25 looking at GC gear or maybe even near level 30, and so on up the levels. Infact, players may end up ignoring all dungeon sets as they are levelling up that fast till they go for level 48/49 armour. This will make all that time and effort HCS put in to create dungeon sets a total waste of time.

 

 

On top of all that, if players level up any faster, we will just end up with new players joining, levelling up, then leaving a month later because they have done it all and are now bored.

 

And finally with the faster gain in xp, there will be less incentives for players to buy xp boosters or sacks etc so less people buying EP, which means less revenue for HCS.

Rounding up it up. Fixing bugs and finishing the game is great, I whole heartedly agree with that, but I see no sense in making the game easier. It is bad for the present players, bad for retention of new players and bad for revenue for HCS.

 

 

I'd suggest leaving it with this greaterxp setup for a week or two then reverting back to normal. That gives me time to get 6  of my alts from lvl42 to 49 easily :lol:

I'm quite new to Eldevin, was starting to really enjoy the game, and now that awful patch... As Steve73 mentioned what was annoying me the most in Eldevin was that whatever I craft, it seems to always be late and obsolete, even stuff from dungeon, leveling is far too fast and by the time I gather the relics and level up the craft high enough, I'm 10 level above and it became useless, but I was hoping this would get better at higher lvl

 

This patch is just making thing worse.

 

The most terrible is that I'm now around 25 and skinning the mobs of my level have become useless because they gave me mats  I will be able to craft with when I'm lvl 48 in leatherworking ... so if I want sturdy hide = The mats you need for crafting and get some clothes....Well ... you will have to go back to kill piggies lvl 6 ... so much fun .... (and of course almost no more skill XP ... great... )

 

Plus It seems that some mats have been lost in the process, like : I can't find rough meat anywhere, maybe I have not been looking enough but I ran all around Eldevin and even if it's not impossible to find it has at least become very rare, lvl 8 mobs are giving Rump and lvl 12 are giving ribs and there don't seem to be lvl 10 mobs skinnable that would give me some rough meat... and of course Rough Meat is what you need for daily cooking and skinning mission when you are around 25... so you get the point, even If i find it, i won't go chain-killing lvl10 mobs when I'm 25, it's just not interesting...

 

so please, as far as i'm concerned : roll-back this patch !!

I mostly agree with Steve's post about this update, however i do understand that the cows are doing this to improve new player retention, i guess we'll see if this helps.

 

My main issue with this update is that it doesn't offer anything to most of the current population, except the bug fixs...Big thanks for that.

 

With no new content expected anytime soon and with most of the population already at max level and just looking for stuff to do. The cows could work on fixing this situation with improving the incentives to use the current content. Right now there isn't much of a reason for players to run ARG, ASV, BT, RG, TOC and PVP or do the plasma lord. This seems like a simple fix that would give us more things to do and stay interested in the game while waiting for new content to come.

 

Also could you please reduce the spawn time on the CC bosses, i'd suggest something like 2min after death, that way people aren't having to server hop and get frustrated trying to get a boss.

Especially now that the OC server is down people like me who solo CC bosses (and some groups also) have to wait after killing the garg at US for the one at EU to spawn. Normally I do like EU>US>OC>EU and so on.

Mojawk please change professions back to how they were.

More importantly please add something to make ToC, PvP, arena, plasma lord, and world bosses worth doing instead. Give us something more to do at eoc.

If your real aim is to end the game then just get on and do it. Refund a months supporter status and any recent purchases and then switch off the servers and close the game.

I agree it would be nice for something to be done with cc bosses although I'd suggest instead, making them into instances, so all players can have chance to kill them rather than one or two loitering and getting all the kills.

I'm glad there was an update even it wasn't anything major. Also thanks for addressing the bug that allowed the duplication of TA mats. Though I haven't been playing lately, I'm really happy that there is an update.

 

However, I just don't understand these ones...

Though crafting and gathering items is quite a grind, that does NOT mean in any way that it is game breaking, in fact IMO it's one of the things that's really good in the game. Sure maybe there are people complaining that crafting and gathering is tedious or something, but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing for the game and to whoever those people who didn't like the way gathering and crafting before this update and was complaining.... well you guys are just lazy.

Bottom line is, there have been players all through the years of playing Eldevin who worked hard to max their crafting and gathering. These people coped with how it was and worked hard and spent their time gathering and crafting and achieved max stats on said aspects therefore achieving a level of fulfillment... Then there will be an update like this?

 

So in light of this, I just have 3 questions:

1. Why?

2. Why?

3. Just... WHY????

I wouldn't mind if the tweaks on gathering and crafting was done not far from the very first day the original configuration was set (Probably the time when Eldevin was created.) and was being tweaked constantly to the point of "perfection" (Nothing is ever perfect in life BTW :P ). But having to tweak something that isn't even broken, after years of it being a part of the norm of the game.... I really just don't get it.

Just to give you a clear thought on this, it's like:

Creation of Eldevin:

Devs on gathering/crafting exp: Hey okay so this is how we're going to set it... boop beep bap boop okay done.

.

.

.

.

.

Months to Years later after players worked their butts off and have reached max crafts/gathering:

Devs on gathering and crafting exp: Ooookay... seems that there is something wrong with how we set the exp... boop booop beep bap booop..... AWESOMENESS!

Hey! ofc I still love Eldevin, and devs! Thank you very much for this update. Though obviously there are some parts that I don't totally agree with, having an update is still something and I recognize that.
