When you look at your character sheet at it says Defense: X (+y)
When is the +50% bonus added? Also, if you drink a vial, is the vial's defense bonus applied before or after the +50% bonus, or are both bonuses added (i.e. vial adds +Z% bonus, and class adds +50%, so the total bonus would be +(Z + 50)%).

I did some playing around with this for a project I am working on and, using the original thread with you and Skalla about Inner Wisdom, I believe that it is....
[((Base * SkillPt% * Vial) + Items) * Class]
Base = Base character def
SkillPt = Nothing (that I know of)
Vial = Vial
Items = Items
Class = Class bonus
Edited to ask: Whatcha working on that you keep asking about the order of bonuses?? Cause if it is like, or what, I am working on perhaps we can help eachother.

this is how it works such that an example might be
[((500 * 100%(no skillpts) * 1.5(yellowVial 50% base def)) + 600) * 1.5]
(((500*1.5)*1.5)+600)*1.5 = 2025
