Quest Anomalous: On your travels you meet a wizened creature..."Greetings traveller, I am old and weary...Before I pass on I wish to pass on that which I learned. Long ago, creatures descened into Gothador, and using their power they created the Teridia Anomaly. This expansive realm was once a portal through which they could travel quickly to the far reaches of every realm. Before they left, I was fortunate enough to gain this knowledge...but I am old and much of it is hazy. I seem to remember some kind of document they spoke of containing their secrets...whether it still exists is another thing...if only you could find it..."
Anomalous: You find a strange shrine, like nothing you have ever seen...It has writing on it, but you can't understand it, if only you had some way of translating it...
Anomalous: You find Professor Montfras digging in the sand "Teridia? I see that my knowledge of the past is spreading! Yes, I know a little of it, I know the Teridians were a powerful race, but their language...well, not much is known, they were very elusive, but for a select few they passed on the secrets of their language...I've heard some rumours that there's a hermit in the south of the Anomaly who hid himself away after the Teridians left"
Anomalous: You find a ruined hideaway, inside in front of a small fire is an old hermit "Who sent you here?! Teridia, I know nothing, don't ask again..."
You ask the man again
"I see you're persistent...Very well...Yes they left me their document, but well..." the man produces a solid looking box made of solid Nagyagite "as you can see it's locked...they were very secretive, and only those worthy may know their ways. So I'm afraid, unless you can find a way to open this box, I can't help you. I did hear them say that the way to their secrets was hidden amongst the creatures they placed in the realm from their first attempt...but well, it went all wrong...Incidentally, they also created the material for this box, and named it after their failed attempt as a testament to their ability to succeed after failure"
There's another quest here, called The Na'Gathian Key:
In the depths of the Na'Gath Labyrinth, you find an old Na'Gathian "Greetings traveller! Teridians? Yes, I remember them well...They left us here after they created the Anomaly, ashamed of us as inhabitants of their failed creation. Little do they know I can unlock their secrets...There is a key, a special key that is the path to their secrets...If you can find all that I need I can forge you the key."

I like it - BUT - the main-line quest is hellish long.
i think that just as with "The great Norse saga of Xenthii" (which also has side quests), the primary quest should be split up with small rewards on the way

I find it interesting...the story is definitely a lot more interesting than the Jinxeth quests, and I prefer the idea of one big quest requiring lots of little quests to be done to achieve it rather than the main quest story being split up into parts.
If you ask my opinion, the greatest quests that there have ever been in the game are the third tier quest and the third tier upgrade quest. It needed a concerted effort from nearly every player in the game to complete, and it still does.

I disagree....Think about it - you're in Oceanias and want to get to, say the Labyrinth of Na'Gath Level 5....5 APs and you're there, no questions asked! Or you're in DF and want to get to Oceanias, again, 5 APs and you're there! For smaller journeys it's not worthwhile, but it means no teleport fails etc.
