#958844 Helping out new guilds

Posted by Uncle Beg on 11 February 2016 - 04:29

If you have a new guild and need gears to start for level 1 - 700 members, you are in luck.

We are restructuring Bushido, along with cleaning up gears.

We have pieces and sets that are Fully Forged.

If you need gears, please let me know.

Gears will be giving away for FREE and/or at a DISCOUNT to be used NOT resell.

#958825 Guild Conflict Countdown

Posted by sweetlou on 10 February 2016 - 17:52

Unless you were diligent in recording the end time of any conflicts before you left, you have to keep trying periodically until it lets you in.  Even if you were diligent, if someone initiated a conflict a second before you click "Leave Guild" you have absolutely no way of knowing.

This is not the norm. In fact, the likelihood of this happening is so minuscule I don't think making a 'countdown' for this reason alone is worthwhile. However, making a countdown for every player that can participate - meaning if you can't hit or be hit there's no need - would greatly improve the game! In other words if you can't participate, meaning you can't attack or be attacked, then there is no reason why you should remain restricted to change guilds!

I'm going to take this opportunity at yet another player suggestion, and there are always many, to criticize the developers' lack of time resourced on the game itself. New mobile platforms have a catchy appeal but the possibility of attracting new players is a gamble and will not benefit a game that is desperately needing work.

#958798 Fallensword Profit Guide (New Player Edition)

Posted by EpicPiety on 09 February 2016 - 23:28

I liked WWWolf's post #27 because I think it really explains the current status of composing. I do think it "could" be added here (though there is a possible caveat further down). EP... in case you missed it... post #24, ,oP.

For full-disclosure: I am the highest level composer in my guild and still hire WWWolf on occasion.

I am highly organized with the few others in my Guild that also compose. So why do I hire him?

He can make some pots I can't make. He can also make pots at a higher level than I currently can. Beyond that, there could be a mutually beneficial situation wherein I prefer to pay for pots for my Guild, rather than front those costs (ie, frag, time and gold) myself.

Why do my Guildies buy from him?

The first two reasons are the same. The last part changes slightly but has to do with the fact that my Guildies tend to take the frag pressure off of those of us that compose.

All in all, I know this portion is getting a little be too narrow for the post in general, but I do think it "could" be profitable.

It's a rough call for me on whether it should be included here. I would lean towards it NOT being included... or just with a simple... "hey, this is something to think about for the future". However, that is because I get this feeling that the general idea is for "new players" and it will be quite a long time before they can actually make a "profit" on it. I think it is possibly a long-term income source, but there is a lot of time and investment involved. Precisely for that reason, I "believe" it will be an alternative "profit" source for a very long time.

Was going to add it in purely because its a worth while investment...it's possible to level composing cheaply yet slowly...Once you get level 30 you can sell al/lib/con to your guild or guilds :)...It also saves you money in the long run...Being able to compose your own high level composing pots is nice and cheap.

#958780 Small Effort for Game Wide Work(GA)

Posted by Undjuvion on 09 February 2016 - 13:34

It would be fairly easy to create a few icons and add 3 more guild achievements, they offer quite a small reward for the effort involved, adds more race.. and depth to a small feature which literally any can participate in, i would assume quite a few guilds have close to and or all of them, quite novel and from memory i think it has come up in a thread or two, most likely so reflecting emphasis probably :)

edit: tho not sure if many or any have the group attack one, for arguements sake :)

A Tavern Rumours sidebar for the Tavern Rumours.

Leave the News sidebar for the actual news.

#956879 Calling All Fragment Farmers (and Buyers)

Posted by Tastria on 11 January 2016 - 18:13

I'm sort of a small scale farmer, not real serious about it, but I do end up with a BP full at the end of a hunt, and sometimes much earlier.

I was sticking them up on the AH, for 5k each, and found I was getting bought out by the same player every time.

In short, we had a bit of conversation, and when I hunt I now send them to him, and get bags of gold back by return mail.

I mention this to show one way to start farming.  It all depends on your stamina level, and your BP size, but I don't know anyone who wouldn't mind a few thousand extra gold at the end of a hunt.

Just as an aside, I'm a confirmed drinker, so all my profit goes into liquid refreshment from the AH :P

#956841 Calling All Fragment Farmers (and Buyers)

Posted by Egami on 11 January 2016 - 01:19

In the interest of full disclosure, Wolf and I are allies. That relationship began (but was not based upon) the fact that we met precisely because he wanted to buy commons and I sold them. He asked me some questions before starting this thread and I gave my input and expressed my personal reservations. I liked the post itself simply because I think it is right on. All the comments for me are key.

Now, I’ve been sell-side for over two years, but this is what I might add (purposely kept light on details):

Trust.

By that I’m talking loosely about the section on how the transaction should occur and then of course this might end up going hand-in-hand in the “friendly” portion. This might seem like overkill to a large number of people, but I don’t think a reminder is a bad idea. Remember that a Secure Trade is the only way to guarantee your investment. This goes out to buyers and sellers. Please remember that there are scammers out there. Act accordingly.

Availability.

There are various factors involved here and Wolf has made several comments throughout the original post in regards to the general idea. But to put it down “in ink”:

I believe it’s extremely important for a seller to know the “availability” of their buyer. Being on the sell-side for so long, it’s really difficult for me to know how to give advice on that. But obviously, a seller needs to make sure that it’s cost-effective for them to engage in a farming session for a buyer.

It seems more important to me personally for the buyer to know their seller’s availability. How often do they go? How much can they supply?

Anyway, great post Wolf. I hope my input here (finally, lol) is worth something.

#957345 Fallen Sword App Beta

Posted by Hoofmaster on 19 January 2016 - 00:46

Rather be in a new world, starting at level one.. Alpha testing for the new map had it.. And it would be an excellent chance to let all beta players experience the start of the game.. Great opportunity to give feedback and suggestions for new players..

Would that be possible Hoof???

Aye - and it might be something we look at doing initially as the game experience for new players will definitely be something we want to look at. So yeah there is potential that we might create a separate 'test world' for the app whereby you'd login with the same HCS account on the app, but it would be a test character instead :)

Cows don't do well with roads.. They seem to like the field where they can wander home whenever they need something...

#957929 New Roadmap

Posted by yotwehc on 27 January 2016 - 23:36

There is no upside for HCS to do this. What they will get is people complaining about various things:
1. Why isn't xxx on the list?
2. They are not meeting the target dates!
3. yyy idea is stupid
4. Zzz should be changed
5. Why isn't HCS responding to my comments about suggestion aaa!?
6. HCS's direction is wrong

7. only hoof's opinions matter

8. Etc

What is the upside for them to do this?

#956701 Epic Prices

Posted by yotwehc on 08 January 2016 - 15:07

No one item should ever be 300 FSP anyways.

That is ridiculous and I could never understand the people with more money than brains who would pay retarded prices for those items.

Glad to hear. If you are fortunate to come upon a really expensive item, please sell it for no more then 300 fsp ;)
