Wow, just wow... tons to digest. Did people get paid overtime on the weekend? Lmao.
Thanks HCS, hehe.
Hi there Everyone.
Today we have added three brand new RP Packs for Guilds to spend their Guild Reputation Points on! You'll find the following new additions :
*claps*
Defense Pack B for 20 RP and a duration of 12 hours containing :
Evade 200
Absorb 200
Flinch 200
Rock Skin 200
Uninformed "nice". Thinking that's a great addition for GvG guilds to protect members.
Enchanted Pack for 20 RP and a duration of 12 hours containing :
Enchant Amulet 150
Enchant Boots 150
Enchant Helmet 150
Enchant Ring 150
Enchant Rune 150
(...)
Finally, we'll also be looking at increasing the power of the Cave based Enchant potions in the near future.
Very nice no matter what a Guild does and nice counter with the Cave based pots.
Additionally we will be looking to add new PvP sets to the Arena and Ladder this week as well as both new Content and Quests for the 2501 to 2525 levels!
Very nice on the sets, hope it gets more involved.
And the content increase rocks. Someday I'll see it, but the big girls and boys deserve it, hehe.
So all in all, thanks HCS for all the additions and prosperous smacking everybody! (o0

I first want to say, thank you to HCS, and everyone who gives their input here. I rarely do.
I absolutely love this new khalons lvl 1000 set. I am wearing it now, and love the stam gain without being defenseless in epics.
I also love and agree with the extreme low durability as it will eat up tokens reinventing destroyed sets.
But that also does stop most, or at least me as i am not rich, players from forging the set. just too expensive at this level to waste it.
So in my opinion, the set should be at least as powerful as its forged same level counterparts. Normal crystalline of the same lvl is usually always higher stat total than comparable non-crystal sets of the same lvl.
I will keep wearing mine just as it is, and thank you again so much for new stuff to play with.

This makes me think of a purse, which I can never find anything in. I don't need help hiding things from myself.

It's not fair to force ladder players to try and save the arena too. The ladder is in enough trouble as it is. This is like another punishment. You aren't forcing people to pvp. Why force them to deal with the arena?
Nah they're not forcing you at all. You want to invent the items? Go enter some arenas. Don't want to enter arenas? Go buy the components from arena players. This is giving ladder players the opportunity to make new sets and something to spend their tokens on. It's also allowing arena players to use their tokens on. I really don't see the big problem. If it's too much for you to even associate yourself with another part of the game, then that's your problem.

Removing counter bounties would eliminate players ability to respond to being dropped on the bb. Do you really want to give us bounties we can drop and then not allow you a chance to respond? Yet another way to further limit pvp activity. The most fun I've had in this game was guild wars. I've even met some of my best friends in the game by stomping each other. But sadly, the changes in the game have killed most of that activity.
Calista, you and I are diametrically opposed on this issue, and that is okay.
Do I really want to give you bounties you can drop and not give you a chance to respond? Yes. Because you have responded so well when you have been bountied that now you get left alone. I have long held that CB is the mechanism that has killed the BB. You cannot have it both ways, to want to hit people to leave you alone (including bounty hunters, I imagine) and still want a regular supply of PvP opponents. The two things do not easily coexist, in my opinion.
I argue that Counter Bounty limits PvP activity now, CB drives out Bounty Hunters, punishes them for doing their job, disincentivises them from coming back if they keep getting dropped for doing their job, so why bounty hunt? In the hope you'll be allowed a soft clear here and there without being CB'd? How is that inviting?
However, keep CB if you want, it no longer bothers me. Nor does the inactivity on the BB.
Guild wars can happen without CB - you can keep hitting members of the other guild come what may. CB makes it faster, more aggressive, and about who has the most allies to take on the CB's, and who are then prepared to be CB'd themselves. An orgy of PvP - but one side eventually gets crushed, and how many times will they come back if they know they will be out CB'd? Not many. The winners win, the losers will only lick their wounds and come back so many times, sooner or later they stop participating when they realise they cannot prevail against a bigger network of CB hungry friends and allies. So success breeds inactivity in your most fun activity. Can't have guild wars if the other side won't bother fighting anymore.
I may be wrong, but I genuinely think that use of CB has killed off the PvP game, not 'game changes'. PvP players using a PvP mechanism have so dominated the BB (and guild wars) that everyone else has been taught, have learned not to play there. Inactivity rules the day.
Remove CB from the board and I think you would see more players give it a try. Again, I might be wrong. But with no CB and auto bounties during the seasons the board became more consistently active than it was since the GXP era.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to say this. To be honest I no longer feel that I have skin in that game, it used to bother me more. I think I'm just losing interest overall in FS, so this seems less important to me now. But it is nice to get it off my chest perhaps one last time. It is a PvP problem for PvP players, and as far as I can see, it is a self-created one, and will continue to be so as long as CB is held to be sacred and inviolate. So keep it if you wish, and keep wondering why so few people come back to play on the BB after being punished via counter bounty.

as usual arena bump to the bottom of the barrel, and out of sight, i keep seeing pvp this, pvp that..pvp threads everywhere..been like that for months and months..others parts of the game need attention also
I don't disagree with you. However, as an FS Player, I'd point out that six to seven years of neglect on the PVP game aspect will probably take some time to sort out though.
Meanwhile, I'll point out that we have an had within the last week a content update, a GE dedicated to composing and a "guide system" implemented to help players.
So yeah... I don't agree that it's all "PvP".
