This is just creating more need for players to wear epic items, which then creates easier targets for PVP and GVG.


Then adapt. ;)

S'alright. I like to help out with the Community total during Globals. In the old days, I would get on the top 100, but since we started allocating prizes, I've stopped doing so as often. I tend to try to leave my total low enough to be knocked off as the event continues. :)

Quite correct. I almost always burn through my normal stam at the beginning of an event. Sometimes I use some reserve, like I did this time.

Hi there.

I used Global Booster and a fair whack of my reserve stamina, which is pretty much the definition of helping the Community. I put a lot of kills into the event, so I'm not sure where you see me being selfish.

level 300 - Venomous Snake Elite
level 350 - Eyeless Golem Elite
level 400 - Angry Bear Elite
level 450 - Disturbed Bee Hive Elite
level 500 - Crazed Looter Elite
 
Tier 2
level 550 - Corrupted Knight Elite
level 600 - Rabit Rat Elite
level 650 - Slobbering Dog Elite
level 700 - Evil Vampire Elite

So if you chose to pull from Tier 1, you would have a chance at getting a merc leveled 1-500, Tier 2 you would get 501-1000, etc. You wouldn't just be able to choose to hire a level 2000 merc; you'd try to pull from the 1501-2000 tier, and you might get it, or might not, but you'd get something in that level range.


That's kinda what I'm leaning towards at the mo. Power of the Merc is something I can alter easily enough. Considering several code tweaks like the one above.

I'm also considering allowing each Guild to have their own copy of the Merc, thereby stopping the Merc camping and allowing everyone equal access.

As I suggested earlier - in this thread or a different one (can't remember)  ...

 

Make doubler into a slider buff (like CA and NMV and Barricade etc) so that those with low stam banks can activate it at a lower level than those who have a massive stam bank..

 

Seems a simple solution to me :)

I still believe a two tiered system with two taverns is the answer. One tavern for the high end mercs, which costs more for each search and a second tavern that has the lower end mercs in it which costs less for each search. Kind of like the scavenging caves, maybe make it two structures or an upgrade to the original structure?

 

Not so much two tiers as the high end is always shifting but your idea definitely has merit. How about tiers of 500 levels? Obviously we'll have to upgrade some existing Mercs and create loooooooooooooads more but I figure that is easy enough.

 

Maybe some of the many, many low level mercs could go on a training regimen, even the spread a bit. The four mercs in the 501-900 range could use the company, I think.

Final idea would be for a select number of mercs to be thought up by players as a reward on a global event or something...?

Yes, big guy, that's a great start.  We need lots more like this Erik Something I found last night.   Level 800 and super stats  :)

 

Erik of the Frozen Wastes? He's a level 800 Elite class Merc. Are Elite ones still worth using? Should I just Upgrade the Champion level ones? Move some of the vast number at lower levels up into the higher ones?

 

As it stands, Champion class are worthless. Are the Elite ones still good? Super Elite class are all staff.

 

Champions could be upgraded to Elite level and the larger number on low levels spread out a bit along with new Mercs to help.

 

Tavern could be tiered in 500 level increments? That would stop High and Low levels shifting as the game continues to grow.

 

Opinions?

Many thanks for the update... it is, in my book, a huge move ahead. Now...

 

Allegiance tokens: Am I missing something? I'd like to know when my reset is. If anyone can tell me, it'd be appreciated.

 

Know it's too late... but, uh.. the TKP should NOT have been assigned to the Guild. To a player, sure. To a guild, no. Should be obvious why. 

 

Titan Hunting is a Guild Activity, not individual. Thus it is assigned to the Guild. It's always been that way and it shall not be changing.
