Well, I haven't played the game for a long time, so, my question is about that "Break Down Items" thing.
4k-5k items / 16k stamina hunting session <- that's without Doubler. Distilled (150 lvl) FI1000, Reckoning200, LF1250, Conserve250, UB200.
Ouch, that's a lot of keyboard mashing. Since you did just come back, perhaps you're not aware of this, so I'll mention it. Just like we have the Global Events that we just finished the other day where the rewards are chests of potions, we also have Global Events where the rewards are "frag stashes", which are chests of fragments, of all varieties. The frags from the event can keep the casual composer going for a while.

It's not much of a plus, but also consider that everyone who qualified, has one more click on their medal ladder.
Also, it's not as if we aren't going to get the rewards, they're just not available instantly like many (apparently) players wanted. I'm in no great hurry to have them filling up my mailbox for a month, and then having to find backpack space for them.
Also, it comes to mind that a LOT of stamina was burned in this event. When the rewards do arrive, there's going to be all that more stamina to be able to use with them. (See, a silver lining

This occurred to me not long ago, that when someone snags your relic, or attempts to, you get credit for relic defense, and get a shiny medal for it.... This is wonderful, however I think it has a flaw, and I wonder if anyone would agree.... shouldn't retaking the relic have a medal, or at the very least count toward this one? Just a thought... What do you think, FS?

The point is these uber pots are making the game ridiculous. The habitual frequency only dilutes the skill required to play, which will eventually turn OFF players not attract them. It's bad form and lazy. I hate singing the same tune here but nothing substitutes for actual resources put into the game.
Turn players away? Really? Ok, what about those "other" Guilds. You know, the ones that aren't uber. Don't you think these "quite" high powered pots help them level and look more attractive to prospective members, I know level means nothing but hey we live in a cosmetic world, and therefore retain players? Not everything is about the one mate.
Cheers.

Thank you BigGrim on looking into fixing mercs and other areas of the game kudos.. I do think we need to revamp the mercs, not have super large ones, but adapt to where we are in the game. Big guilds get big groups, but smaller guilds do have problems with getting SE and other critters in fs. We need all levels of players and all skill levels keep playing. I agree plus one to all comments that referred to fun! I come here to play and have fun as well. Math calculations was not always part of the fun factor. I do not mind some but prefer to keeping to the old saying of keeping to kiss method that stands for keeping it simply silly. ^_~

There is nothing that makes me love this game more than guild bonding or a guild coming together to acheive something big
DISCLAIMER: Skip the italics if you want to not read me reminiscing of old
When titans frist came out (Ogalith and Skaldir) it was so exciting and extremely hyped up by the cows. Cows teased it by saying something huge is coming to FS and will need a big guild to conquer whatever is coming. All the preperation for hunting a titan..Mapping out specifc player spots for the titan maps and just the anticpation of wating for an Ogalith to spawn was all so great. Then when your guild was able to get enough kills to get the Ogalith gloves it was probably the best thing to ever happen.
Fallensword needs more things that brings guilds together to attract more players and even the ones that lost the feeling they once had for this game. The global events were the best step the cows ever took. It even brought me back from my long hitaus.
Anyways, On to the main idea of the post. My idea is to make a whole new tier of gear Heck it could probably just be a Legendary item but its special since it involved a guild group effort. The current tier list of gear goes like this
Tier 1: Common
Tier 2: Rare
Tier 3: Unique
Tier 4: Super Elite
Tier 4.5: Cyrstaline
Tier 5: Legendary
Tier 6: Epic
Tier 7: ?
Now for the guild quests. There are many ways to approach quests. All guilds are different in what they do.(Small,Medium,Big,)(Powerleveling guild,PvP guild,Titan hunting guild). But within in these distinct type of guilds there are big composers, potion makers, farmers, etc. How about a quest or quests that make the guild come together to get a certain item..or a set.
The quests could go on for many stages depending on the item or items and each stage will get progressively harder. First stage "Obtain 1000 BloodBloom Plants Jademare Cerluean Rose etc." Second stage"Craft 100 Potion of The Bookworm,Potion of Fury, Potion of Black Death etc. Third stage"Acquire 2 Inferno Hammers 2 Writhing Wards and 2 Steamwork Curarsis Fourth stage"Have a total of 2500 100stamina hits on other people. And so on. You get the idea.
The whole entire point I want to get across is guild interaction,Infalting the FS economy, creating LARGE scale quests for GUILDS to complete that can attract every type of player in a certain guild.
Now there are many downsides to this idea of course but it was a really really rough scale version of it.
Let me know what you guys think or have anything to add or questions. Doubt something like this would be implemented but it would really be nice and it would spark more activity.

There are more people with updated computers that can run this game no problem then there are the few on here who can't...seriously it's 2014...I don't know what you people spend your money on but if you can afford internet you can afford to buy a modern computer for $200-$300...theres really no use being able to play a game...if it's going to be dead, a few years this will be sigmastorm unless hunted cow makes necessary changes, otherwise it will be the same 600 players everyday until we all die..which is stupid
Hmmm.... how can I put this?
FS is NOT dying... There are many of us that have been here from the beginning, and we will continue playing till HCS pulls down their servers... Just based on what I regularly spend as an average, HCS is pulling in the big bucks on this game, and I don't think they will abandon a winner... Sure, there are things that need to be done, but there always will be, no matter how many man-hours they put in... Since FS is an open-ended game, there will always be improvements and upgrades that need to be accomplished... I think HCS does a pretty good job of keeping up considering how many games they are actually running.
Just my 2 Pennys

I really dislike the word what is good for business. To be honest games need players that is what is good for business. Graphics do not bring players all the time. Some good examples of this is movies. Have you ever been to a movie with the best graphics and it had the worst story-line? I think even better yet is a movie with no graphics but regular images and had such a rich story-line you had to see how it ended. To me graphics is like frosting on a cake. Cake is the game content. I have a hard time enjoying a cake with tons of frosting and no cake.
I am from the generation of Atari, Coleco, and first edition of Nintendo games. I ponder the thought of graphics is best for business when those games come out. We all look at the games now and say yup sad graphics but back then game was cool to play. My point is games that are good in business are not always graphic games. Word games online most do not have great graphics do well. It is up to hcs to decide how they feel about their work.
I like to give the staff of hcs on this thread a big compliment on how well they are doing.
I can say for myself graphics does not hold me to a game. I can say seeing my gear all bloody does not hold me to a game either. I can say all pvping in a game is another thing that does not hold me to a game. I will say good response to my questions from staff and repairs to a game does. I will state solid game content that works well is important to me. I will state player diversity is another important factor. In this player humble opinion having staff of a game like hcs playing the game and working wtih community really impresses me as a player. Keep up the good work here and letting us players know of updates is very good for business work. ![]()
I know this is not about me but the community and I hope the community keeps on responding. I am here to say all graphics are not evil. I feel it is up to hcs to decide if they feel they need to step up graphics or not. I am thinking that we may need a thread on what keeps you playing here on fs. ![]()
