#958656 competitive Guild Medals

Posted by Egami on 07 February 2016 - 01:22

All I can really say at this point is to thank mary for her idea. I'd also like to thank everybody for their input here.

It's really refreshing to see people throwing out ideas and my personal read is that people have actually taken the time to think about this post.

There are things I agree with and things I don't. But even in the latter case, I'm really pleased with almost everything I've read. I wish most threads could go this way. (o0

#957950 competitive Guild Medals

Posted by mary4ever on 28 January 2016 - 10:11

Achievements don't have tiers.  You kill enough rats and you get the Guild Achievement and associated reward but nothing more if you keep killing them.

EXACTLY !!!

achievements are a "one time thing" + most of us "stopped" once they got it

as WWWolf said, achievements do not have "tiers" BUT medals do !!!

players did not stop once they got their BRONZE medal, they continued to get a higher "tier" medal & the same will be with the guild medals in order to unlock a unique reward which will "breath life" into these aspects of the game (GvG, PvP, Arena, Titan Hunting, Global Events) smile.png

+ medals look much cooler that achievements :P

Yes, new Guild Achievements would be a very welcome addition though I would really like to see Mary's Idea for Guild Medals;

Perhaps these can be done together...

Me likes. Looking forward to some of the under construction stuff. :)

Only suggestion so far is under leveling. Method to reduce gold on hand includes selling and depositing but I would add the daily max Stam gold upgrade (see 1.0). You can do this 25k gold at a time to minimize gold on hand.

#958624 Increase your stamina beyond Epic Gears

Posted by Uncle Beg on 06 February 2016 - 16:53

Just sharing tips to help you improve your game.

Basic facts about stamina, you can learn more in your Character Upgrade:

Each character has Stamina Gain (SG), Current Stamina (CS), and Maximum Stamina (MS).

SG is the amount of stamina you get per hour.  It can be increased via character upgrades, guild structures, and wearing epic gears.

CS is the amount of stamina you have.  It increases at the rate of SG until you reach MSThis upgrade doesn't stay with your character forever.  CS can be greater than MS.

MS is the maximum stamina you can have when your status is ONLINE.  It can be increased via character upgrades, guild structures, and wearing normal and epic gears.

Without BUFFS, PlayerA has 5,000 MS and 100 SG with all upgrades, including gears.

Scenario 1:

After 10 hours, when PlayerA gets online, PlayerA has 1,000 CS / 5,000 MS.

Scenario 2:

After 50 hours or more, when PlayerA gets online, PlayerA has 5,000 CS / 5,000 MS.

Buffs will increase the MS because they affect the gears that PlayerA wears.

In Scenario 2, after the PlayerA got online, buffs will increase the MS but he/she has to wait for the CS to catch up to MS.

The BEST WAY is for someone to buff PlayerA BEFORE he/she gets online.  Then CS and MS are equal.

After PlayerA gets online, increasing CS can also be done.

These buffs will increase MS, assuming you are wearing gears that increase your MS:

Enchant Weapon, Iron Fist, Cursed Ring, Cursed Rune, Enchanted Armor, Enchant Shield, Epic Forge, Epic Craft

Enjoy!

Oh how I wish players would go a week or forever without the FSHelper so they would know what everyone else has to deal with while playing the game.. Suggestions might even be backed more often..

I won't play the game without the helper...it's so so awful and not user friendly in the slightest. ANYONE can use the helper it isn't like an exclusive club lol.

#958439 Calling All Fragment Farmers (and Buyers)

Posted by WWWolf on 02 February 2016 - 21:35

In line with the topic, I recently had a player tell me that they would only buy from me.

I actually suggested that it wasn't the greatest of ideas. Offers do come up that are better than my prices.

My advice, keep an eye out. It's really not so different as most things in game. Take advantage when you can.

As you stated in an earlier post (#8 in this thread) sometimes price is not the most important factor.

When I buy fragments I will often go with sellers I have dealt with in the past (Egami included - almost exclusively lol) who I have grown to trust and are easy to deal with.  Of course, some times it's hard to pass up a great price and maybe get to know somebody new.

It's like picking between 2 hamburger joints next door to each other where 1 has slightly lower prices but rude and slow wait staff and there is essentially no difference in quality.  Sometimes you may go with the cheaper one and deal with the staff but sometimes you may prefer to have the more pleasant dining experience for slightly more.

DISCLAIMERS:

*  I'm not saying I have come across any rude frag farmers - it was just an analogy.

*  I am also not trying to influence you to buy from any particular seller.  There are many great sellers out there who I would love to see gain new business from this thread. I was just trying to explain why a buyer might decide to buy exclusively from a particular seller.

I've farmed common frags for over two years. Check my bio for "current" prices and the idea. Pm me for details.

#956841 Calling All Fragment Farmers (and Buyers)

Posted by Egami on 11 January 2016 - 01:19

In the interest of full disclosure, Wolf and I are allies. That relationship began (but was not based upon) the fact that we met precisely because he wanted to buy commons and I sold them. He asked me some questions before starting this thread and I gave my input and expressed my personal reservations. I liked the post itself simply because I think it is right on. All the comments for me are key.

Now, I’ve been sell-side for over two years, but this is what I might add (purposely kept light on details):

Trust.

By that I’m talking loosely about the section on how the transaction should occur and then of course this might end up going hand-in-hand in the “friendly” portion. This might seem like overkill to a large number of people, but I don’t think a reminder is a bad idea. Remember that a Secure Trade is the only way to guarantee your investment. This goes out to buyers and sellers. Please remember that there are scammers out there. Act accordingly.

Availability.

There are various factors involved here and Wolf has made several comments throughout the original post in regards to the general idea. But to put it down “in ink”:

I believe it’s extremely important for a seller to know the “availability” of their buyer. Being on the sell-side for so long, it’s really difficult for me to know how to give advice on that. But obviously, a seller needs to make sure that it’s cost-effective for them to engage in a farming session for a buyer.

It seems more important to me personally for the buyer to know their seller’s availability. How often do they go? How much can they supply?

Anyway, great post Wolf. I hope my input here (finally, lol) is worth something.

#958595 Gold Upgrades

Posted by EpicPiety on 05 February 2016 - 19:16

I've always loved these ever since they were brought into the game. For many reasons...Some of those being they make for inexpensive upgrades which is very beneficial to fresh blood in the game. I would really like to see some of the upgrades expanded more. Don't see any harm in it but correct me if i'm wrong. Would be no better time than now with the expected steam release :).

#958503 When your opponent calls in a favor from God...

Posted by EpicPiety on 03 February 2016 - 23:19

One more thing every player of fs needs to consider and is a fact to all games with battles is the random luck or aka suck factor. It is a random variable percentile set by those who develop the games.  So based on based stats how that player has set up in gear too, with plus additions of range from potions and buffs and of course the the luck factor percentile that causes a slight unknown to all battles is the basic formula to the game. We can calculate to what we know of the game but the developers have the rest of the formula.

I respect the unknown and like the challenge of losses. It helps to give it a try next time to succeed and try other variables until the challenge is met.  Keep in mind if the failure was with lower gear variables or buff/potions then update those aspects. If it is base states that is an unknown to all except player and that does affect where those points go.  I hope this helps and I hope that hcs will stop by to explain more or possible outcomes. Thanks.  ;)

There isn't a luck factor if you use god mode :)

I know the 2% rule (on both attack and def) is on of the most hated in game. I think RJ's #4 post gives some could advice.

Even though it more often makes me growl than smirk, it reminds me a lot of when I was a kid (two weeks ago or so) and I played D&D. There was always that one roll on the dice which made the impossible possible.
