#952751 Dear Hoof,

Not everyone has the high level Composing buffs. That takes a lot of time, effort and gold to be rewarded for those buffs. (I've been leveling for ages, with loads of pots made during the day. I'm still only level 14 and it uses a LOT of gold and Frags.)
Not everyone partakes in the Global Events.
Not everyone has access to massive Guild Stores full of the best gear.
Not everyone is in a Guild with the best Relics or Structures to buff their stats.
Even if in a Guild, their Guildmates may not be able to provide free buffs on demand.
Remember, this game is for everyone. Not just the bigger Guilds.

#951881 Suggested Targets(via "Fight Players" tab) Fix

That is true, but they could always add the bounty board to the bounty hunt tab and other things. I like having ladder and regular PvP all in one page. Plus if you merged the bounty board with bounty hunt. You could make it even more one-stop.
The least amount of clicks(which I believe is the goal)and make the game better and more efficient would be to simply add a GvG attack button to complement the already other three types of attacks on the bio page. Let's not confuse players further. Simpler is better. Whenever an opponent is attacked you always want to see what gear and buffs they have. It's logical to attack from the bio page. The GvG button is the only one that is missing. If you want to take a bounty go to the bounty page itself, take the bounty(1), then click on the player(2), then attack(3). It's the least amount of clicks possible.

Hoof can do away with the Fight Player page altogether! Once the Guild Conflict attack button is added to the profile page like the Bounty button(only showing when a target is available of course), the Fight Player page will be obsolete. Long overdue imo and a sign that the game's development is lagging, pun intended.
Sure I'll take a look - anything to make the interface better and reduce the amount of clicks is a good thing ![]()

I agree with yodamus. I've been playing for 2+ years (religiously), but there are those in my guild who have been playing for 6, 7 or even 8 years on and off. I have no plans to hang up my hat because there is still so much to explore and accomplish.
FS seems to revolve primarily around levelling. Your world map is a bird's eye view with very limited graphics. You walk around. You click to attack the creature, but don't see combat literally. You get gold, xp, and sometimes item drops. There is a very active marketplace for equipment, potions, etc. Many people spend a lot of their time being merchants, just buying and selling. Your stats are heavily influenced by the gear you wear, as well as skill buffs that you cast on yourself or others cast on your character. If you're having a hard time finding people to give you buffs, there is a marketplace for buffs as well. Along with levelling, there is also PvP in a variety of forms. You can just straight up attack another player to get their gold. You can participate in a "ladder" or the "arena" for prizes and glory against others of a similar level range. And there's a bounty board where people post bounties as retribution for attacks. If you accept a bounty that a [supposed] victim has posted, you attack the player with the bounty on their head to get the reward the victim has set.
Guilds are a HUGE part of the game. You will excel MUCH more easily if you become part of a guild, especially an active one. Guilds provide stat increases via buildings listed on the guild page, as well as via relic control. It's considerably easier to get buffs for free from guildies, be they for levelling, PvP, or otherwise. There is GvG also which is essentially group PvP.
As you progress through levels, there are quests to accomplish that give you extra xp, or gold, or items. Plus, every now and then there are global events where everyone is supposed to kill a bunch of the same creature. The more creatures the FS community at large kills, the greater the rewards. Sometimes there are events that release a certain kind of creature that would have special item drops that can be resources or items for inventing recipes. And there are also people who make in game currency via composing. Composing is where you take junk items, break them down into fragments, and use those fragments to make potions. The more you compose, the higher your composing level. The higher your composing level, the more powerful the potions that you are able to make.
So yeah, FS is basically PvE (PvW), PvP, and GvG, but the framework that HCS has built around that core is so complex and involved that you can be involved for years and still not even scratch the surface of many game elements.
Come on in! The water's great!
-----------
Edits (to answer your questions more directly):
1) Like other freemium model games, you can pay actual money for in game currency (Fallen Sword Points) in order to upgrade and progress faster. BUT, you don't have to by any means. I've chosen to pay $5 here and there, but there's no reason why you would need to spend real money. I'd guess that most players play for free and keep it that way. You can progress quite quickly regardless if you learn and follow good advice.
2) Heck no. Join anyway. The idea that there are other players of super high levels doesn't affect you negatively at all. You'll actually want to join a guild that has a couple of high level players because you'll have better access to resources.
3) The trailer video is pure hogwash with no basis in reality whatsoever. The screenshots are much more accurate. Is it fun anyway? Yes.
4) If I have to choose a favorite color, I'd say some sort of blue as well. Additionally, a blue chicken would be bad***. That is all.

hello saga teller...join fs..you wont regret it..been playing for 5 1/2 years and many more longer than that..players dont stick around for that long unless the game has much to offer..which this game does...you do not need to spend real cash on game to be competitive..as with any game..it can help..but not needed.. in game currency can be made in the game itself..plenty of ways to do it..plenty of different aspects to the game if leveling is not what you do....
devs are in the global chat virtually everyday to help..many players will help..once you get used to the game..easy to play..nothing real fancy, nothing to make you dizzy ( eldevin makes me dizzy, 3d) ..events are pretty regular..updates pretty regular..staff does listen to players input..
altogether the best game i have ever played ..and i have tried many and most of hcs's games..this is the best..still has a huge player base after all these years..
yes you will seem behind, since eoc is level 2600+..but no need to rush..plenty to do..try it out
#950533 GVG Updates - Ways to Reinvigorate GVG

One major thing my guildmates and I disagree on is the resetting of the rating on the Guild PvP Top Rated List.
I feel like this rating has been earned and long standing from the very early stages and I do not feel it necessary to strip top rated guilds from their hard work. Think about it as the same way as if you decided to reset all the guild XP from the top rated level guilds. If a guild wants the top spot, come and claim it! We are active, willing, and ready to participate anytime!
As for the reguvenation of the gvg ladder, I think there are better ways that a complete ladder reset. Simply providing some type of incentive for being a top 10 guild would be nice. An increase in RP for those guilds would be an easy place to start. This type of incentive would at least give guilds a reason to want to achieve the top rating.
Also, the lack of receiving rating is rather frustrating. Yes we did receive a small amount from 3 guilds this last rampage but it was by no means building any type of lead against other guilds. In fact, when guilds hit us, they essentially have nothing to lose ratingwise while we would potentially lose the maximum amount of rating if we lose. Even getting 1 rating point per gvg would be nice regardless of who we hit.
Perhaps another incentive would be to periodically reward the top gvg guilds with RP for maintaing their top rating spots. I would also like to see some of the inactive guilds removed from the gvg ladder. There has been alot of activity lately which is awesome!

Load up with Spell Breaker and/or Leech?
Grim - you really need to take some time to understand GVG - Even with Spell breaker, spell leach.. if someone sits in a defense set with those buffs, with auto-refresh on themselves with buffs - if you aren't able to break Dispel Curse, you alone will most likely lose about 50% of the fights you initiate, if not more (taking into account HG/GS and other chance buffs). One side of the equation (probably the attacking side) already probably completed their hits, meaning the defending guild needs to return those hits. With the epic chests (Granted I understand they cost a lot), it's almost a certainty that the defending guild doesn't have a chance. Please level into the ranges we have in RA (or drop hooftest down or other players) and let's GVG a few times to show what I mean.
