Posted by JustConix on 16 February 2018 - 17:37

Hi Everyone,

Its time for another Fallen Sword Client progress report! This week we have been working on a new and improved Top Rated Leaderboard system and I am happy to announce that this is now complete! Below are a couple of screens to show how this looks. We hope you all like the updates we have made to this system and as always, we appreciate your feedback :)

#989959 My introduction and a couple of development screens

Posted by kamicazer7 on 07 February 2018 - 14:17

Hello everyone, hope you are all fine.

I'm creating this topic to introduce myself as the newest team member of Hunted Cow, and also to give you guys an update on the client development.

A little bit about me:
I have been interested in programming since I was 6 years old, starting with the old Logo program for kids.
Throughout my studies, I have developed several small personal game projects and professionally medical and corp training games.
My latest job as a games tester gave me the opportunity to work with a lot of different game concepts and to get a grasp of where the games industry is going towards.

I am now working on the Fallen Sword client, with my first contribution being on the development of the Level Up screen.

levelUpScreenHint.jpg

The idea is the same as the Browser client, however it functions a bit different. Instead of clicking on each stat to add, the player can click to add or remove one point each time or hold the button to add automatically, then pressing the level up button to confirm all points.
The description of each attribute can be displayed by clicking on each.

Please let us know if you have any inputs on this.

Cheers,

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I have read each and every one of your messages and I can't be happier to have joined such an amazing community! Sorry I haven't had the chance to reply until now, I have been hard at work to bring you all an update to the Fallen Sword Mobile Port! We are currently nearing the completion of the new and improved quest book! Expect screenshots in the coming days! But until then, Happy Hunting :)

#989773 My work at Hunted Cow... So Far!

Posted by JustConix on 30 January 2018 - 17:13

It has been just over two weeks since I started working for Hunted Cow and I am pleased to tell you that I have been hard at work on the Fallen Sword Mobile Port! My first task at the company was to create a new and improved quest book based on the one found on the web page. This task is nearing completion and I am happy to share a couple screenshots of my progress!

ActiveQuests.jpg Quest Details.jpg

Filter By Letter.jpg Quest Search.jpg

As you can see from the above images, the quest book is now displayed as an overlay to the main game and will display all the same information that can be found on the Fallen Sword website! We have worked hard to compress a large amount of information onto a single screen while keeping it easy to read and navigate.

Most of the layout is the same however you may notice a few differences. An obvious difference is that we are now using a drop down menu to display the options used to filter quests instead of the line of options that display them on the website. Another difference is that seasonal quests and normal quests use a single toggle button instead of the two individual buttons on the computer version. These quests can be toggled using the "Normal" button at the top right of the screen. The guide button still works the same way it always has, however it has now been given a new home tidily away on the details screen. A not so obvious change is that all quests will be displayed in a single list saving you flicking through pages upon pages of quests to find the one you want. We have also added a search bar to allow players to quickly search for quests by name.

We hope you like these changes and are happy with the progress made over the last couple weeks. I will try and post updates regularly and keep you all in the loop as the mobile port is develops.

But before I go, I have one more announcement to make. Next week we have another programmer joining the Hunted Cow team and will be working alongside me on this mobile port! I hope you are all as excited to meet him as we are!

Anyways, That's all from me for now, Catch you all later and Happy Hunting! :)

Welcome aboard! Hopefully this means a massive amount of progress will be made towards completing the much anticipated Fallen Sword App! (Even a Spider can dream, right?) Perhaps Hunted Cow Studios will accept you into their guild soon enough, we still have room at RA as long as you are willing to learn the ways of PvP/GvG. Happy coding!

#989375 GvG rework proposal

Posted by BadPenny on 10 January 2018 - 21:51

Big Grim, Ryebred's idea is very good, but you please find a way to stop  GvG RP farming.  This last one was done before I logged in and it took more than $140k to mend gear.

GvGs should take place when players are on line not off.

If I had seen the notice of incoming, I could have changed gear and added buffs to make them work harder for their flipping rp. :/   Not pull gold from my bank to mend gear.

A simple solution to prevent the high costs from offline "farming" would be to add an RP pack that contains UB, Deflect, and similar defensive buffs.  Even if GvG is made totally opt-in, it would be impossible to make GvG an online only affair since we all live in scattered timezones and the like.  And anybody in their right mind is going to choose the easy offline target in Epics...

I will suggest again that if you know your guild is a favorite of RP farmers, be prepared.  Deflect and erosion are both long lived and inexpensive, and great deterrents.  Deflect just because it's irritating, erosion because it breaks THEIR gear.  And stop using Epics as an offline kit.   Get a proper offline set and the farmer will move on to easier prey.

Here's an excellent guide:

And if somebody still hits, they're a pro, nothing you do will matter.

I still can not believe we were given the chance to hunt all titans, every titan hunt was a challenge, always one or more players on the same titan, thats how you do events to get everyone involved, usually I would hunt 1 titan per event if I am lucky, thanks hcs for making this possible

That's why we always give a warning regarding this every Seasonal event.

Hi there everyone.

The Forest of Yule has now closed for another year. All players in the Forests have been teleported to the Mountain Path and the Titans have disappeared. All shall return next Yuletide!

We hope you've enjoyed this event!

#989330 The Forest of Yule returns!

Posted by Filletminion on 09 January 2018 - 10:42

As i have stated earlier in the thread I have one of the slowest ping times in the game, I live as far from the servers in the Southern Hemisphere without being at sea, I have A Fiber connection that reduces jitter and latency.

Having said that I obtained 4 Perchta drops from this event and 300 Tkp short of a 5th.

I used 1 black Friday chest for the whole event.

I simply refused to give up.

When it gets really hard like this event was you have a choice, complaining it is hard or unfair is not benefiting yourself or anyone else.

There exists some consensus that personal drops limit to 1 per player per event, No doubt there will be some screaming that is unfair to them.

A lot of players did not achieve the quest reward this time around, yet I noticed they were able to gather other Titan rewards. So that leads me to think that serious consideration needs to be given to the availability of Teleport 200 plus after Zb pots and maybe even further limit them to not work with Brewing master.( Just a Personal Suggestion).

Overall I enjoyed the challenge but as has always existed with Titan hunting your location and internet connection decide your success to some degree.

More than 11 hours and no respawn of the witch that everyone wants to kill before the event ends yet the others have been spawning almost back to back Wyld Mari for one ,something is very wrong with this whole new titan situation very unfair for those that need 3k plus kills for the quest ...

11:00 08 Jan 2018 A 'Gospa Perchta (Titan)' spawn and more than 20 people trying to kill it with at least 10 having teleport 202 or 230  and now BG says spawn rate is normal for seasonal Titan ,not buying it

at 24 hrs 1 spawn for Gospa Perchta titan  normal ????? ........

17 hours and no respawn from Gospa Perchta titan, they changed spawn rate in second week, in first week spawn rate was every 1-2 hours, now 1-2 spawns every day, did hcs say why they changed spawn rate?
it impossible that nothing was changed

they are both right, I have saved all gospa perchta spawn times from when the event started until now wit last spawn at (4:00 09 Jan 2018), I was bored

1.rst week spawn rate is about 50% from day 1-5.    about 35% from day 6-7

2.nd week spawn rate is about 4,1%-16,7%

Hi there.

The spawn rate has not changed at all. It's still spawning as a Seasonal Titan should. Remember, even the Seasonals are random, same as other Titans.

~ Grim

spawn rate changed for better after your post and 1 force spawn was added at (14:17 08 Jan 2018), now spawn rate is back to 1.rst week (day 6 -7)

I can show you spreadsheet with extarnal link to all spawn times

for the lost spawn times in second week can you please only spawn gospa perchta every hour or give community extra time, 1 day or what you see fit, sir?

this was best season event in years, I had fun, thanks all hcs team who worked on it :)
