The long awaited arena updates have caused an uptick in interest (not by me to be honest) don't ruin it by causing increased interest and then leaving the job incomplete just to frustrate folks and cause them to lose interest again!

 

Zorg, Come On Down and make those Prices Right!! LOL! (Or BG if you are the price setter!)

yeah but when  you get put up agaiinst the same people all the time every arena that does not seem fair when they have Diamond for Arena and you have none and are trying :angry:

That player with the Diamond Arena medal once had no medal too. You have to consider that. If something happens now that should only benefit the lower tier of arena players, then the upper tier must be compensated in much of the same way. Easier and simpler to just leave it as it is.

As long as the pricing they make it is fair, then I don't care how long it takes for them to put it in the game. Just save up your tokens for now. Though, that will do no good when the market gets flooded with all the items that people will buy with all their saved up tokens, but that's life.

 

Possible option for using the tokens is the option to buy buffs essential for PvPing or hunting.

same can be said about entering a ladder, if you enter a restricted combat arena then do not cry and then take the conflict out the that arena, the ladder, and get your mates to solve your own problems. You opt in you deal with it yourself not bounty those that hit you so your friends and/or guild can deal out your response for you!! this is why you should not be allowed to bounty ladder hits.

can the TOTALLY RANDOM 2% BOGUS HITS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be removed/fixed in the arena... ive been losing to 2% ALL DAY EVERYDAY and its really really annoying!!!!

Nice arena update with tokens and opponent randomization. One thing that I suggest cows should add is displaying entered stat numbers of finished tours. Beside

  • Join Cost:
  • Reward:
  • Max Equip Level:
  • Specials:
  • Hell Forge:
  • Epic: 

 

to add 

 

Entered stat:

  • Attack:
  • Defense:
  • Armor:
  • Damage:
  • HP:

 

 

That way it's easier for players to analyse what they done wrong and create strategy for next tours.

i think the tokens for gold is good where it is right now but they need to bring back the tournies with gold as a reward :P but there are still lots of tweaks left to be done... work in progress.. i must say it is kinda nice getting a few tokens for coming in 2nd or 3rd place.. i know some players are just racking up the tokens right now since the update.. and some of us are just mulling along getting a few tokens here and there.. a win win for everyone lol

I dont consider anyone a master, there are just players that have been here for 6 years and have arena gear setups saved for every level.  That's just called a HUGE ADVANTAGE.

 

First off, I'd have to ask which of your players you are asking me is a "master", you argue as gomezkilla is that who you want me to address?  Nevertheless,  I would still say no matter which of your players you are talking about....you are just out for yourself and care nothing about keeping the arena FAIR, or bringing in and keeping new players....which we NEED to keep the game alive.  That's why you are so mad about new gear........you would lose all those saved setups you have wouldnt you!  Nice job of adding in it would be a lot of work, you wouldn't be trying to convince the cows that its not worth it so you can continue to use your saved sets as your advantage would you???

You use a lot of colors.

 

Do you know how those players have setups for every level and know they work? They worked hard and tested every other possibility until they found one that won most of the arenas. That's called hard work. The new players could learn a thing or two by watching which is encouraged by everyone when first starting out in the arena!

 

You can address me however you want.  B) I am a merchant, I am out for profit, I am greedy, I want what is best for me in the game. In the forums, I want what is best for the community. The only setup I have saved is my offline setup so I can switch out of hunting crystalline quickly once I'm done with it. Again, I haven't entered an arena in months.. how would this benefit me?

 

And I added in that it would be a lot of work, well because it would be. Simple fact.

 

Bland = uninteresting = dead arena.

 

Again, please stop with the accusations. They aren't needed and they certainly don't help your argument.

2nd Post and a Solution to arena matches Spawning in the "WRONG" ranges in some eyes.

 

I think we need to standardize the levels in which the arena spawns (this idea does stem from what the cows did on day 1 of the arena updates where you knew which levels were going to spawn)

 

While the initial list of 100,500,1000,1500,2000, and 2500 was way to small it gave people the opportunity to prepare and know what levels to expect and enter.

 

 

The cows need to expand on this concept and turn it into 50 tournament levels that can spawn from 1-EOC Lower levels need smaller gaps in levels and they can Expand as they go up. I would suggest the Following levels to spawn:

 

10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100 (Every 10 levels from 10-100)

 

125,150,175,200,225,250,275,300,325,350,375,400,425,450,475,500 (every 25 levels from 101-500)

 

550,600,650,700,750,800,850,900,950,1000 (every 50 levels from 501-1000)

 

1100,1200,1300,1400,1500,1600,1700,1800,1900,2000,2100,2200,2300, 2400 (every 100 levels from 1001-2400)

 

This gives exactly 50 different tournaments that can spawn and if you want to make it to where someone always has something to enter make it to where if 1 of these 50 start it is automatically re spawned after it is completed.

 

The only thing I would also do to add some variety is have each respawn be random on whether it:

 

-Allows Forges

-Allows Moves

-Allows Epics

 

I feel that having tournaments spawning in those 50 different levels allows everyone in the game to be able to enter the arena at any time if they wish, it also makes it a little simpler for the average player as they know which levels they need to have gear for and prepare for.

The hole point of the arena is the incentives otherwise you would just PVP. What is the point of doing it if you can't get the moves to win or spend hundreds of FSP on gear and then still lose. It is dumb and not fair to those trying to come into the arena. No point to spend gold and FSP on gear just to get your face kicked in every time by the "masters" There has to be different brackets and the incentives, points, gear, potions should all reflect that.

Ok, wait...

- About the moves: They're extremely easy to get on novice Arena, really, you can get all then in 1-2 days.

- About the 'thousands of FSP in gear': Usually everyone who play Arena has a lot have a lot of gear for that, just like who make PvP have PvP gear, and who just hunt have a lot of potions. Arena is a part of the game as any other.

What you're refering of is the knowledge that 'Arena Masters' have and you don't have yet, about the moves, gear to join, etc. And the ONLY way to learn that is, guess what, playing the Arena, and losing A LOT, and learning from that.

I'm DEFINITELY NOT an arena champ, but I'm against this idea. Part of the fun (at least for me) is guessing what gear combination is being used by the winners. If the system just reveals the gear combination used then this removes the challenge and somewhat undermines the effort these players have put in making them.

 

A solution proposed in earlier posts is a bracket system where players with approximately same skill level / number of wins are pit against each other. Another one is a comprehensive arena help/tutorial that can get new players started.

 

the way i could MAYBE see this idea working although i feel its making things easier as i was one of the ones shin basically meant(for 6 months to a year id wake up and go NOOOOO! out of 20 arenas i won ZERO then struggle throughout the day to maybe win 3) so i feel its a get out of jail card to offer easier wins for less thought, i only got good from one word PERSEVERENCE...

 

but if a lil icon/picture denoted an arena was 'ROOKIE' only those with no medal or bronze medal could join it, non medal and bronze would be free to enter anything else if they liked but if you had silver medal i feel you are well and truly accomplished to battle someone at the "top" and should be disallowed from the 'rookie' arenas,

 

any more grouping than that and you could literally create too much slow down in some areas without guarantee life contracts from noobs(BOTH high and low level) that they will spend millions of gold each day to fill arenas.

 

my basic thoughts but i am tired atm.

here is a simple and very fair solution to the level spawning issue in arena- very easy and fair for all....- 80 total tourneys-  25% (20 each) for level ranges 1-600, 601-1200, 1201-1800, and 1801 to 2400...when one fills up it gets replaced by another in that range..should provide something for everyone at all levels, at all times...no clogging of arena, keeping other levels from spawning..if a certain level range fills up fast..it gets replaced faster...if a certain level range fills slow, it gets replaced slower...but still,  there will always be something for all levels..should be very easy to do...20 in each of the level ranges should be enough to satisfy everyone.....i see no issues with this..feel free to comment..should always be the same amount of tourneys in each level range...no level range should have more than any other level range...plain and simple...hopefully make all arena players happy and eager to join..

the 1 thing i dont like about the arena is you have no clue about what is going on in the matches - how are players supposed to learn anything when you cant truly see what is beating you - what i think should be done is basically remove the cloak effect on the players gear - the arena takes a snapshot of gears worn - i feel it would help players if they could see what others are wearing during the matches - now the arena champs arent gonna like this cuz they will lose their secret tricks for winning
