Again I am not talking about my opinion (I am all for a restart with the stand alone server keeping these accounts here) I am talking about the 7 people here who would try this game if it was a year old or less. They have their own reasons but all are not interested in starting a game this old. Simply relaying this feedback here as the subject continues to evolve from how my work is treating this site to how my work tolerates us playing around all day :P

EDIT my neighbor saw me post,, HE wants  a new game starting from scratch where everyone is and enjoy the challenge of keeping up with or becoming a top player, because players here are 3500 and higher its way to far gone for His tastes. And yes I explained monthly top to Him.

I'm writing this because you brought it up.... but it is a bit off topic...  You say your colleagues have concerns because EoC is so daunting..  In other games, yes, it would be an unfair advantage...   This is mainly because most of the time they have no level bands as far as PvP goes, and yes, I have quit many because the highest levels prey on new players, discouraging them, and even preventing them, from making progress. 

 

That's not really an issue here, if you think about it. Your only competition is yourself, and possibly a gold thief here or there in your own level range.  Most, if not all older higher level players are more than happy to help that new player develop, and I've seen more than 1 hit level 100 the first week with a little guidance.   

 

My question is this... Why do we need a standalone, or a restart?  I certainly don't want to have to leave behind 11 years of investment and development to start over on an app that's supposed to be designed for people like me, the 100% mobile player with no PC, just a cell phone with all the limitations that entails..... 

 

Please, let your friends, colleagues, or whatever know that FS is different, the game is just as engaging at lower levels as at EoC, the players at EoC are really not a threat, but rather an advantage and a valuable resource......

I noticed last night when I did my DQ that when you move diagonally, the screen does a little "shake" thing.  At first I thought it was a malfunction of my phone, so I installed the app on my tablet as well.  The same thing happened on it. It's not constant, just intermittent and happens primarily in the SW quadrant of the map.

I have just looked into your issue and I think I know whats happening. As you may have noticed, the camera auto moves to the player when a move command is given. This auto move happens even if the camera is only slightly off the player which causes a "Shake" effect. 

 

Now for the interesting part. I couldn't understand why this was happening when you are moving your player and not interacting with the map. It was then that I realised that there is a slight gap between the movement panel and the edge of the screen meaning that it is possible for your finger to slip off the movement buttons and onto map scrolling without realising. As this is just a small gap it is near impossible for the human eye to detect the move, but the app can and will move the camera back to the players position on the next movement command causing a shake. I hope that makes sense? 

 

Thank you for reporting this issue Penny, I never noticed this was happening and it was a fun puzzle to work out why. We will look for a fix and hopefully have it out to you all in the next update.

Anniversary is such funny word, don't you think?

 

     It's my 13th anniversary in Gothador and it seems so strange...strange because I remember how vibrant and active both the game itself and this community were.  Now, the game is a ghost town and these forums are like an old, empty mansion...silent except for the occasional whisper of a Phantom passing through.  Rooms haunted by memories of the people who passed into my life because of it--some of whom remain, and some who have passed on.

 

     I could suppose that it's the morbid fascination with old, broken things--like derelict ships or abandoned trains--that keep me coming back (there's little reason to actually play anymore, except that I still love my characters), but truth be told it is that I am grateful.

 

     There's another funny word.  Grateful.  Growing up, I spelled it "greatfull".  It just made more sense to me that one was 'full of great emotion', rather than full of "a frame of metal bars for holding fuel when burning, as in a fireplace, furnace, or stove".  Heh.  Anyway...

 

     If it weren't for this place, there is so much I would have missed out on.  I surely wouldn't be writing in my own Universe.  I wouldn't have been blessed with my life-partner.  There would be no memories of Andor's humor, and no conversations with Frank.  And no delight in knowing that two of the games I now play will never hold a candle to Gothador in its heyday.

 

So happy anniversary to me, in this strange and formerly wonderful place.  It's been grate.  Er...great. :P

Congrats to the Fallen Sword community for unlocking the Ruby Tier in the Global Event! Once again the community worked together as a team to achieve this!

If you qualified during the event, your reward is now awaiting collection in your character mailbox. :)

Due to more than doubling the Community total, all Ruby tier rewards gain an additional Ruby chest, as do those on the Top 100 list.

Additional congratulations go to siddy246, TRBLmaker and Undjuvion, who came first, second and third respectively, earning a chance to design a Legendary creature and set of their choice!

Hi all,
 
In this latest update, we've implemented the majority of the changes required for the next beta version of the Fallen Sword App (v0.2) which we're hoping to have ready within the next few weeks.
 
Also we've fixed the following issues:
 
- Fixed an issue on the "Skills" page where if you tried to cast a skill on yourself and you hadn't set your username, it would just load the news page and not cast the skill.
 
- Fixed an issue where it would show that there were ally requests to manage but there weren't :)
 
- Fixed an issue with featured guilds history text so that it won't cause issues with the other text on the page (such as making the other text bold).
 
- Fixed an issue with the dialog not closing when a guild successfully captures an undefended relic.
 
- Fixed an issue with the quest information showing on the wrong item when viewing an item that is compared to an equipped item.
 
- Fixed a typo on the Counter Attack skill tooltip.
 
- Fixed an issue with the Hell Forged stats being reported incorrectly for the Fallen Sword Helper.
 
- Fixed an issue with component slots not displaying correctly on the final page when there was less than 10 in a row.
 
We've also increased the Component Inventory Size upgrade limit from 990 to 1250 :)
 
If you noticed anything not working, please let us know on the forum and we'll get it fixed asap!

Hello guys, hope you're having a great day.

 

I come bearing a small development update for the Bank system.

The base idea is still the same, players can only deposit a certain amount as per deposits available of each player in a day, and withdraw as many times as wanted for any amount in the current account balance.

 

The interaction however is intended to feel more smooth and user friendly. You can either use the slider to change the value from 0 to the maximum available, or add in the numbers manually.

Values exceeding the maximum will automatically be converted to the maximum and buttons available only when they should be.

We also added some small animations when values change, to have better visual feedback.

 

Hope you guys will like it and please do let us know if you have any suggestions/ideas for it.
