#981583 Past, Present, and Future Quest Shop

Posted by uncola on 08 June 2017 - 21:09

I came to the realization that many past quests require a specifying Item to start or continue. Years back for what ever reason, those items were destroyed and i find myself "bothering" the Admins to regift them.

I suggesting a Store that has every single quest reward/item redeemable for 1 gold.

(This does not include wearable quest items) to avoid AH or Breaking down Abuse.

The quest must have already been completed to redeem any item

also

If the quest is active redeeming might bare some restrictions(again preventing abuse), but should be allowed

Resources and any farmable Items drops will not be available in the shop.

After implementing, this shop it would greatly aid in players as well as reduce the amount of submitted tickets Developers answer to help on missing/lost quest items.

#981486 2 xp event!

Posted by BadPenny on 05 June 2017 - 13:21

So, just my 2 pennies here, but why should EoC's content (or lack thereof) be the deciding factor about whether the rest of us have the enjoyment of a 2x XP event?  As a veteran of this game (tomorrow is my 10th anniversary after all) I object strongly to that.  Players levels 1-3000 deserve to have an event just as well as one at EoC so that we can get close to the top of that hill.....    We already can't have Storybook or Quango quests because there's no new content there for EoC, regardless of the fact that many of us "small fry" have never even gotten to begin them.... Stop running the game to cater to a small few....  there are way more than the 200 at EoC that play this game, as BG constantly tells us here in this forum....and I'm sure many donate just as regularly as those at EoC.   We have an interest in the game as well....

I think you misinterpreted my response. I am not saying all the donators are at EOC. I am saying a big portion of them are. I am just following a simple rule of thumb: the 80/20 rule. At the end of the day, they are running a business so they will do what generates the most revenue. They are prioritizing content because that is where most of the money will come from.

PS: You can learn more about the 80/20 principle here or here (more tailored towards business justification)

And another big portion are not.  I'm saying you are making assumptions that are not in evidence.  I am a retired MBA, I understand how businesses work..... that's NOT my point.  My point is that a majority of us are NOT at or near EoC and with that constantly rising, we will never ever see it.

My comment was in fact, directed at the ever present cow gods, to keep this fact in mind, that a big chunk of those of us that are contributing cash to the game are in fact mid-level or below.

I understand that things must be equitable for the ENTIRE  community.... not just the upper echelon, who always get something new before a big event since the olden days.  I don't want to discount their efforts in any way, but I also believe that I and my contemporaries deserve some consideration when such decisions are made as well.....

#978435 A quick and easy overview of Daily Quests

Posted by Bluetail on 26 March 2017 - 05:27

Cool! I can tell you want to make this guide really good so Ill share some of my knowledge of the game and give a few tips.

In general, the buffs Animal Magnetism, Conserve, Reckoning and Light Foot will help you complete Daily Quests quickly and minimize the stamina cost. The buff "Quest Hunter" will NOT multiply any kills towards daily quests.

Defeat X Players In PvP:

Any player you defeat (bounty board hits do not count!) will add progress to this quest, you can even hit the same person multiple times to make progress. Note that you must be the one to initiate and win the battle and Xp loss must occur. If they have PvP protection no progress will be made! Only players that have logged in within the last 28 days count for this quest.

Warning! Remember that by taking part in this quest, all players you have hit have the option to post a bounty on you (within the next 48 hours), where you can lose up to 5 levels (in the most extreme case) so complete it at your own risk!

Breakdowns:

Bought items from ingame shops can not be broken down for fragments and will not count! For breakdown quests its always best to farm an Elite since they have the highest drop rates in game. Try to find one that has no quest drops and can respawn with AM and in a small area. Remember to use Find Item 1000+ (found in the AH) and Reckoning 175+ as well as Lady Luck 200+ (only available through composing). Remember that the quest is for items broken down, not fragments from items broken down. So if fragments are not a concern to you, find an Elite that you can easily kill.

The Nightshade Lord is a good example of this and is available from level 28 onwards.

Beware that out of all daily quests, breakdowns pay the least back in return for stamina used- you may not always get more stamina back compared to whats required to complete it. By using the buffs FI, LL, Reckoning, AM, CON and LF, you can estimate the stam needed to finish your break down quest by dividing the required number by 0.4 . This assumes you use ONLY the above buffs, hunt an elite with no quest drops, one hit and use max level distilled composing potions- showed the math in another thread if I can find Ill post it again.

Kill X Creatures of Y Class:

Your best option here would be to consult the UFSG which is the official FallenSword Guide run by HCS. You can find it by following the link here (http://guide.fallens...p?cmd=creatures). It has an option to search by creature class which makes these quests a breeze to find a creatures of a class that you can actually defeat. You can also search by type to find easy maps to find Champions or Elites as well.

If your lucky enough to get a "Kill X Normal Creature" then that means youre free to kill any creature that isnt a Titan, SE, Champion, LE or Elite and it will count- easy!

Kill X Legendary:

Permanent LE spawns are all quest locked to get to but chances are you may have already completed the needed quests to get there (for some atleast). Here are the only permanent LE spawns in game from low level to high level (LE frags from drops also indicated).

Leghra Lair [Min Level 40]: Leghra Deathspinner Queen (Legendary): None
Minotaur Lair [Min Level 80]: Minotaur of the Lost (Legendary): None
Paladir Forest (Plagued) [Min Level 20]: Zachorzi the Plagued (Legendary): (1)
Ofron Islands (Caves) [Min Level 271]: Ursa the Great Bear (Legendary): (2)
Mount Volmar (Circle) [Min Level 1000]: Seal of Fire (Legendary): (4)

Kill X SE:
Killing any SE you can (except scavenging caves) will count toward this quest (kills with groups also count!). Always check the SE Kill Log in game before you start your hunt since it gives you an idea of what Maps have been cleared of SE. Below are Maps in game that can have up to 2 SE spawn at once, which are great for saving stam and finishing this DQ quickly. Note Fushiyoma is Quest Locked.

Inferno Mountains (South): Double Spawn- Yokai + Triclops
Brale (North): Double Spawn- Steep + Cursed Samurai
Sanctum of Khel (North/South/East/West): Double Spawn- Fushiyoma (North and West)

Reduce a Titan's Hp by X:
Sort of ambiguous, but it requires you to kill that many Titans to complete the quest. Titan Doubler will not increase your progress for this DQ (but you may still want to use it if you plan to secure the Titan anyway).

No real additional advice here, besides find one you can kill, use Light Foot, Conserve and Teleport to make things easier (AM is not needed since it doesnt respawn Titans). Valarath Eggs and Flasks of Death are good potions to use while Titan Hunting if youre lacking in the damage department. Counter Attack is also an option. Avert Gaze and Demoralize and also handy for high level Titans (some low aswell) that have annoying enhancements like Hypnotize, First Strike, and Reinforced Armour to name a few.

If youre worried about people competing against you and crowding the Map for kills, the Elemental Titans (part of the elemental quest series) are a safe alternative. You will not get any epics from killing them aside from the one you get at the end of their respective quests (which you can only get once).

Easy Inventing:
You can invent absolutely anything in game and it will count. Additional buffs like Inventor 1 and 2 along with Extractor 1 and 2 can prove to be quite helpful. Here are some easy options (check spoilers for additional notes).

Potion of Black Death: Estimated Cost, 8000 Gold Ea:
Farm or Buy Jademares (Hellhound/Strikosaurus)

Spoiler

Bite Serum: Estimated Cost, 500 Gold Ea:
Farm or Buy Elya Snake Head (Desert Snake)

Spoiler

Deathspinner Amulets: Estimated Cost, Free
Farm or Buy Spiderling Remains (Leghra Spiderling)

Spoiler

Other Free Options:

Spoiler

EDIT: If I ever get more time, Ill try to add some more hyperlinks to the UFSG. It might be helpful if you add a link to this post in the original post. Just had this info laying around to quickly help newbies, so I thought Id spruce it up into a post to help with your guide!

#976618 List 'Only' places to do DQs

Posted by cucullainn on 12 February 2017 - 14:38

Place to do Elites.

Burning Abyss (Hellion's Lair).

An extremely small area and minimum Level 34.

The Elite there is instant respawn.

Tested by vlkfenrir.

I can maybe see it. If you're in the area. But having to walk through 5 areas to get there. Opposed to 3 areas to get to Varas Dungeon. Which has 3 Elites. I am not sure which is better. I think the biggest problem is. Players tell others to go to the Mountain Path. Then to use the portal in the Cathedral of Ways. To get to Elya Desert world area. To get to the Elya Plains (North). When they can get to the Elya Plains (North) from the Mountain Path. And save stamina. LOL

#971854 List 'Only' places to do DQs

My last two quests for inventing 40 items, only the prize was different.

I have invented 80 iron crowns, 40 this morning and 40 a little bit ago.

Ramdal caves level 3, Zombie King. It drops the crown from which you extract the two items to make the crown.

Small zone too.

OK, folks, today, I experimented for a bit and found where to get good drops for the "breakdown items" quests. Level 6 Fortress of Elya (Hall). One critter spawns there, he is plentiful, and although he only drops 1 item, a pair of common boots, the drop rate is pretty steady and it only took about 1k stam and about 30 minutes to break down 120 items. Beats a blank or spending gold to purchase in AH.

#980884 Arena Reward Restructuring - Yet Another Thread

Posted by devicem on 15 May 2017 - 13:28

First of all, bear in mind that this is in no way a complaint, only a suggestion to further improve the game. Comments and criticism are all appreciated as long as they are constructive. So, here goes.

In order to go ahead and post my idea of restructuring the arena, I’d like to take a second and get back to the previous ‘version’ of the arena when only winning a tournament meant obtaining a reward. So, I’ve been away from the game for quite a bit, and noticed these changes with the tokens and spending them the way you like. That’s all well and good, except I noticed a little oversight, if I may call it that. Golds.

1. Gold rewards are still having the winner-takes-all structure. I think this structuring is outdated, and should use similar awarding structure as the for-token tournaments.

So, awarding tokens for 2nd and 3rd has been implemented beautifully as it allows newcomers to challenge the champions of the arena and fight their way into winning tournaments. However, I wonder why this isn’t done for the gold rewards as well? Especially because ‘the house’ still takes in a rake. I’ve calculated that in 4000-gold tournaments, there is 825 gold rake, 2500 rake for 15000-golds, and 5000 rake for 30000-golds. Now, I believe it would be a good motivation for players to not only get awarded for 1st, 2nd or 3rd but to get 1, 2, 3 arena tokens as a reward for taking rake at and beyond 2500 (15000 gold entry).

Second, I think the prize money should be split not added like it is in tokens-only tournaments. Basically, if you see a 32-tokens tournament, it actually means that it is a 64-tokens tournament — 32 for the 1st, 16 for the 2nd, and 8 for 3rd and 4th. So my suggestion is to fix that discrepancy by renaming ‘reward’ into ‘prize pool’. And for the golds, when you split, for example, the 200000 gold prize, it would still be heavily favored toward the winner: something like 60%, 30%, 10%, where 2nd would virtually gain a re-buy ticket to a new tournament and 3rd gets a consolation prize. J Helps the newcomers mostly.

Summary:

1st = 60% of prize pool 3 arena tokens for 2500 gold rake and above

2nd = 30% of prize pool 2 arena tokens for 2500 gold rake and above

3rd = 10% of prize pool 1 arena token for 2500 gold rake and above

(for golds)

2. Create tournaments with more varying entries i.e. have tournaments with 4 entrants in which the prize here is actually justified to be winner-only. Then you have 8-mans or 16-mans, here the awards can be 1st, 2nd, 3rd. And finally, 32-mans, where the awards are for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th – but again favoring the winner and runner-up. I think this way most people will be incentivized to play. I would love to see even 64-entrant tournaments, but I fear they will never fill. Although, even if it takes 2-3 days to fill, I still think they would be a great addition, mainly because of the high-risk, high-award. And each group of tourneys (number of entrants) could have its own page or band (however you want to call it).

Furthermore, there could also be a timer in place for when 32-mans and 64-mans don’t fill, in which case random players receive a bye in the first round.

Summary:

Introduce 4-mans winner takes all; 16-mans, 32-mans and 64-mans across all levels

Timer on 32-mans and 64-mans; random players get bye in first round if not filled

3. This is in line with the number of entrants: Create PvP Arena bands, with restarting points as in ladder but with not so over the top rewards. It might not even be actual in-game rewards. It could be badges that acknowledge rank placement each season for that particular band. Simple implementation, but I think it would spark participation.

4. Upon entering a tournament, when you click ‘View’, the screen should tell you with how much att, dmg, arm, and def you registered into, for convenience and learning purposes.

Like I said. Comments, improvements to my ideas, criticism are all welcome. Just keep an open mind and discuss. :)

#980900 Arena Reward Restructuring - Yet Another Thread

Posted by Josh1404 on 15 May 2017 - 17:57

I like the token system and the way it rewards those who progress as well as the eventual winner. Makes entering arenas worth it for many more outside the elite players. If that system didn't exist there would be no way for me to play the arena without being disheartened by the amount I was spending for nothing in return. I am far from what you could consider a good arena player but I can play it when I wish to and at least get some tokens for 2nd round and final progression. Helps keep me sane through the losses. :P

So I'd be game for sure for the same to be repeated in gold tournaments. It is a bit disheartening to lose in a gold reward tournament and come away with nothing whether you lose in the first round or make the final. :(

64 entrants may be a little much. It would take forever to fill. Don't like the idea for a timer on arenas with larger entry numbers either. Let it finish when it finishes. What is the rush? There will be other arenas to enter. Like the idea of some 4 man tournaments. Larger entry fee for a potentially greater chance of victory. I'd have a go for sure. :)

#977746 So... Are Legendary creatures only around in special times and areas?

Posted by BigGrim on 09 March 2017 - 14:39

From the List 'Only' places to do DQs.

Hi there.

I see there's some inaccurate info regarding Zachorzi and Ursa in here. To hunt Legendaries, you have the following locations :

Zachorzi the Plagued (Legendary). Level 20. Spawns at Paladir Forest (Plagued).

Leghra Deathspinner Queen (Legendary). Level 40. Spawns at Leghra Lair. Requires Deathspinner Armor to hunt.

Minotaur of the Lost (Legendary). Level 100. Spawns at Minotaur Lair. Requires Minos War Hammer to hunt.

Ursa the Great Bear (Legendary). Level 325. Spawns at Ofron Islands (Caves).

Seal of Fire (Legendary). Level 1000. Spawns at Mount Volmar (Circle).

All of these Legendaries are always available. Based on player feedback, the number of them that spawns in a Realm has been increased. Bear in mind, Animal Mag does work on these guys.

*Edit*

Just tested this with a high level FI and a 175 AM. Got my 225 kills with little issue and a mighty 10 Plague items dropped so I think that's pretty acceptable.

#968518 Potion Bazaar Changed?

Posted by Gutie on 09 September 2016 - 22:50

BG, would you guys consider making a few changes to some of the potions in the Bazaar/Specials?

Maybe increase the power of a few/scrap a few of the useless ones? (DBL 450 when people make 550/farm 750s for dirt cheap is kind of a wasted placement, as is a few of the weaker potions below buff strength like wither 125 and a few others like it?).

#975129 Tips for aspiring Titan Hunters!

Posted by Lsrpm on 10 January 2017 - 11:08

So I noticed that there has never been a Titan like guide. So I thought I would give it a shot to see how well I can feed everyone information.

1. Introduction

I'm Lsrpm..Been playing the game 9 years and have seen it all when it comes to hunting titans. Whether it be all the guild strategies, all the scripts people used, etc. Its been a long road but I have always enjoyed titan hunting regardless. I currently have the crystal titan hunting medal and look forward to getting my ruby eventually.

2. Things to note

Couple of things that are very important. Internet speed heavily determines your "speed" when it comes to titan hunting. Whether or not you are able to move fluidly to each and every spot the titan moves. So if you do not have the best internet then it will be difficult to be able to hunt titans in general.

b20f11f4bbdd663ccd355ef3c1661f90.png

Pressing T while on the world map is a shortcut to teleport. Your square turns blue instead of green when its active.

The guild structure Temporal Beacon helps with titan hunting IMMENSELY. Having your teleport cooldown reduced is huge when it comes to going against others.

There are also a few items in the game that give the enhancement "Temporal Shift" which also reduces your teleport cooldown.

3. General Tips

Buffs that are 100% MANDATORY are Titan Doubler and Teleport. They generally sell for 1 fsp each on the buff market or even sometimes 1 fsp for both. Without these two buffs there is 0 chance in competing with other players.

Light foot and Conserve are also very much needed if you dont have a huge stamina bank.

A titan spawns every hour of xx:00 ST. For example if its currently 2:55 AM I know a titan will have a CHANCE to spawn in 5 mins. Usually by this time I have multiple things prepared in case a titan does spawn

-Be on a portal so I can be ready to port to a realm

-Have 3-4 tabs open. One for the home page, another for the buff market(multiple if Teleport and Titan Doubler cant be bought at once) one for the world map, and the last is the wiki or Fallensword Guide handy, just in case a titan spawns that I dont automatically remember the said realm its in.

EXTRA TABS/WINDOWS ARE YOUR BEST FRIEND

Most people find titan hunting extremely boring and often ask "Wow how can you do this" Well its simple. The best thing to do while titan hunting is to have something going on in the background. Whether it be your favorite movie, new TV show, favorite music, or even talking to your friends makes the titan process less painful and even more enjoyable. This particular tip has helped me through many secures.

Here is what my screen tends to look like while im titan hunting.

67fffa6e962c729f95d040885cc081da.png

On the left you see Fallensword and me hunting a "titan". On the right you see a show im watching while hunting said titan. And towards the bottom left you see the scout tower screen.

I like having the scout tower screen show because I want to know how close I am to being done or how well im doing against others. I usually have this screen on auto refresh(every 1 minute).

Clicking Vs Keys!

Many people have different thoughts on this but I personally think clicking is faster and a lot more accurate. But you can always try both to see what you feel more comfortable with!

4. Going For TKP or Secure(Solo)

Now when hunting titans you obviously have the option to just farm TKP(far less efficient) or straight up going for the secure(a long grind but worth it in the end)

Going for the solo secure on a titan with less than 4800 health, it is recommended to have at least 6000 stamina or else you run the risk of running out of stamina when you are almost done with a secure.

There have been countless times where I thought I could make it on the 4000 stamina I had but was sadly mistaken. So always make sure you have the proper stamina bank.

For those who dont have those large of stamina banks. I would recommend putting as much FSP into your stamina because it will pay off later on. Until then you can continue to hunt for TKP and try to get the drop through that way.

5. Profit From Titan Hunting

For the most part it is a slow process to get a fast and true profit from titan hunting. Unless you are hunting the latest and greatest titan, seasonal titans, or just a very hard titan to hunt.

Most of the titan epics are over flooded in the game which makes selling said epics very difficult.

The best and somewhat risky way to sell these not so wanted epics is to do a 1 or 2 hour 1fsp Auction of them. Now I know what you are saying "WHAT!? Are you crazy?? I worked so hard for this epic and its just going to go to waste???"  70% of the time I do something like this I barely lose FSP. In fact I only lose a very minuscule amount of FSP. So in my opinion its the fastest best way to get FSP immediately once you get the epic.

6. Closing and Notes

Hope you all enjoyed this guide! Hopefully it wasnt to difficult to process and read. I will be continuing to update this "guide" as I think of things. If any of you guys have any input feel free to comment them and I will be sure to add it to the guide while giving you credit! If you guys ever have any questions feel free to message me in game. Im nice sometimes!  :D
