#928227 Update v2.70

Posted by Rocknoor on 13 April 2015 - 13:25

Love the calls for a skill reset, we are in the middle of a 3X offers event, anyone that has participated has picked up massive amounts of FSP and now players who are not affected by the skill additions (absent Quest Hunter lvl 800) want more freebies. Dev's just can't catch a break, it's always more, more, more...gimme, gimme, gimme.

I actually REALLY like that idea. Maybe get an Easter Bunny who is worth more but much less spawn. Like the Slender Fellow at Halloween?

#924516 Current state of the game

Posted by wilddawg on 23 March 2015 - 21:42

Here's how you KNOW the game is in a steady state of decline.  Remember way back when the Cows had a thumbs up or a thumbs down option on the FS Home page  for news releases? The Cows deleted the thumbs down option because they said it cast a negative image on the game. This forum is all negative and the Cows have neither responded or closed it lol. "Me thinks the ship is taking on water"

#923780 PvP Protection and the PvP Ladder

Posted by moonfrost on 16 March 2015 - 07:10

Since you have to physically click the box to join the ladder, you should be forced to remain on that ladder until you opt out of ladder by physically clicking that box once again and waiting for it to reset....if you get pvp protection while on the ladder then the only thing that should do until a reset is prevent you from placing and getting points from that ladder but should not prevent attacks

So I'm quite willing to believe the COWS promised a change that they haven't yet implemented.

I believe we said we'd consider it. It's incredibly rare for HCS to promise something. That's just how the Community like to read a "maybe" or "we'll consider it".

and

Fragmenting Ones monthly with much lower kill counts (as not everyone composes, of course)

This is very important. As a community we need to work to keeping new players in the game, and so do the cows. Having these small events that new players (with 500-1400 max stam) can compete in and find enjoyable and can look forward to each month would add another dimension to the game and may keep a few more players around.

Congrats on everyone that participated in the GE, Crystal is still a praiseworthy feat.

I would just like to cite myself as an example of how difficult it is for a non-EoC or low stam bank player to make the top 100. I was at full stamina during the event, and had to use an Emblazoned Potion (AM500/Cons500) + 300 FSPs to barely make the top 100 cutoff.

I have heard it all - from players saying that one should contribute as much as they can regardless of whether they make top 100 or not, and one should upgrade one's character if one wants to reach the top 100 - but let's face it; non-EoC players/non stam bankers have a considerably lower incentive to give it their all. With this being said, I fully advocate consolation prizes as stated in this thread (i.e, an extra potion for those that get 20k+ kills, or potion rewards based on one's level/how much stamina one starts out with during the GE/stam gain they can muster per hour) in order to make Ruby a more tangible goal, ease the burden of the top 100 contributors, and appeal to the lower level players/low stam bankers.

TL;DR: The establishment of consolation prizes for those that go way above and beyond the minimum number of kills needed to qualify but don't quite make the top 100 cutoff.

#921417 Quit setting us up for failure ..

I want to see MORE, MORE and MORE!!! Let's expand the range of how many it takes to achieve the highest level of potion, say 25m kills;

2500 kills level 1 (common)

5000 kills level 2 (rare)

10000 kills, level 3 (unique)

20000 kills level 4 (crystal)

and the ultimate 50000 for level 5 (ruby)

Attaining these super uber pots needs to be harder for each player! We have global booster 750 in Loyalty rewards/~460ish in Composed pots to make achieving these high individual totals ultra quick. Not every player needs to be able to access level 500/525+ skills. Give us three weeks prep/lead time and let the event run for 1 week once it kicks off - let the small stam bank players have a chance to recharge.  Allow Top 100 - 2 ruby pots like it is now and the next top 150 players receive 1 Ruby. I'd also like to see chests count toward Fragmenter medal. Already, it will take 10 more years for anyone to receive Diamond - it's a bone I think should be thrown. Lastly, I'm still LMAO that players are whining about getting ONLY 2 - 400/425+ level skills. These pots are way too overpowered already.

#919565 Daily, Weekly, Random Event Ideas..

Posted by johnagod on 14 February 2015 - 18:54

Still waiting on these to happen. Days with little random quests for rewards would be interesting. Just so people are encouraged to play every day. That or even mini events like triple composing XP (as leveling up in composing takes AGES for most people) would be cool

#921337 Gargantuan Mosquitos IV (Global)

Posted by Yuuzhan on 24 February 2015 - 19:17

...

And we were millions short so an extra 10k kills would have meant absolutely nothing.

And then 200 people like you say the same thing, and all of the sudden we have 2 million kills extra.

Every drop counts.  If everyone said "I cant do it myself, so I wont participate" then we are really missing the idea of working together.

#921277 please extend pvp attack range

Guys, can we please stop hijacking leefy's thread?  This isn't helping, not one bit....  Please?

#921009 New Global Events (nothing Earth-shattering here...)

Posted by Corrupted on 21 February 2015 - 19:16

new globals for sure are needed...this one is struggling...same globals over and over..getting stale..we need a new one that has an invent and drops to make the invent to try and revive the globals..

We need something that doesnt spell "Kill xxxx amount of critters".

At this point, anything besides that is more interesting.

#920598 please extend pvp attack range

Posted by DorkLord on 19 February 2015 - 15:36

I'll probably regret this, but here goes.  I think there's a fundamental disconnect between levelers and PvPers and the way they think.

As a leveler pretty much exclusively, I have this to say to PvP'ers in general.  I don't like you.  Not you personally, at least I don't think so, since I don't know you, but I don't like your choice to prey on other players. Find a place where you can test your skills against other willing players, but calling offline, unbuffed players "targets"  and reveling in "attacking" them is weak. It's the act of a mugger, a common criminal, and, yes - a bully.  I understand all of the points given - people going offline with gold in hand, whatever makes you happy about these useless "prestige" points, but can any of you honestly say that this is something you'd do outside of the game?  I come here to relax and have fun, and logging in to find that I've been pummeled by some innocent PvP'er who's just looking for gold or prestige is not "fun" for me at all.  It is stealing, plain and simple, and whether it's inside or outside of the game, I think you will find that many people just don't like it.  It's insulting.  It's that simple.  Trying to legitimize what is by definition a criminal element in the game is not going to get much traction with those who are the victims.  Sure, there are ways to retaliate, but what if I don't want to play that way?  Then I have to pay "protection money" or just "get over myself" or leave the game.  I have tried to retaliate through bounties - which just leads to me getting hit again by a coward when I go offline and my buffs expire. Hey - if I'm on a hunt and I'm dumb enough to have a million gold on me, by all means have a go at me. It's part of the game and I get that. I'll put you on the BB. Hitting me while I'm offline is a cheap shot.

And those who try to justify it by saying it's like a mugging in real life?  It's not.  It's more like a home invasion.  In a mugging, at least I have a chance to see my attacker and perhaps struggle or hit back, or I could stay out of questionable neighborhoods and lock myself in my home at night.  Not here.  Here you can look at a simple list to tell you where your victims are and how much money they have, and you don't even have to break into the house.  You can check and see what they're wearing and what protection they have before you even start out. Smash 'em over the head and take their wallet.  Where's the challenge?

Speaking only for myself, I can't even wrap my mind around why others would want to attack and steal from other players when they're asleep.  I just can't do it.  I would get no enjoyment out of it whatsoever, so I don't.  But it's allowed in the game and I will deal with whatever the developers decide.  I'd be in favor of opening up the 'opportunities' for the criminals if it were restricted to online players only, or if offline players maybe had their stats and buffs hidden.  Cloak them.  At least then the attacker is taking some sort of risk because they can't assess the defensive position of the target or their ability to hit back.
