#958412 Something to help combat the simplicity of levelling these days.

Necromantic Horror (Champion) Undead 2505 45398 2699 966 47625 135366   Tellroth Necromantic Horror Undead 2505 31407 1529 711 37491 99596   Tellroth Shackled Spirit Undead 2506 8239 711 59773 2443 99635

Tried to copy paste some creatures from the FSguide, sorry if the formatting is crap.  So sure, some creatures only need 50k damage to 1 hit, but others need more, depending on their armor or if you want to level off the Champion.  So you are right, but not completely.

I have to say I am surprised how similar these creatures are to the ones at my level.  Looks like just the HP inceases.  So my first thought is, maybe the problem is that the higher level creatures are the ones that need to be made tougher.

That being said, the buff that comes to my mind as being overpowered is wither 450.  Cutting the HP in half is huge.  Just for reference, I got super buffed last night wearing Twins, Griffs, Pounamu and Nolhgg sets with Owlbear helmet.  I had EW 1500, SH 480, CoA 350, Ber 350 Fury 350, and then a bunch of the pots for enchant amulet, boots, ring, etc.  I was buffed to the hilt.  My damage was 125k, which does not include bonuses from DD or guild structures.

Now, some are saying that is just too much.  But is it?  Just because I can get the best of everything and am able to kill creatures hundreds of level above me, is that really a problem?  It is quite expensive to get all those buffs.  As it stands, when I do want to level, if I want to 1-hit I either need access to Wither 450 OR buffs like SH 480 and CoA 350 with EW 1000 or 1500.  I choose the latter because the Wither 450 pots are rare and the ones I keep in my backpack I save for special occasions like XP events or titan hunting.

I am trying not to let my bias influence my post, but maybe it is.  I am in favor of things the way they are, but they does not mean they don't need to change.  I think we need to discuss facts and actual numbers.  I think we need to think of the big picture, some people only have access to a few of the buffs mentioned, so we should not assume that everyone is using all these buffs all the time.

Last pet peeve, but where are people finding enough creatures to level like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,r?  When level with AM 500 (which is actually pretty rare) it is more like ,1,2,r,1,2,r,1,2,r,1,2,r....... :P

While buffing mob's is definitely a solution and a good idea its not the only thing that needs to be done. Because PvP/other aspects will still suffer. Needs to be a little bit of both going on...Nerfing the buffs/Buffing the mobs.

#958309 Question on XP and Gold when de-leveled

Posted by Egami on 01 February 2016 - 20:04

I just think some people have grown to be way too sensitive to pvp... For various reasons that i won't get into. It really is no big deal to get 100 stammed? But its the end of the world for most.

So yeah, I'm lurking. Just lost 10 levels a few days ago. I agree with the above 110%. Losing XP means nothing.

To bring it back to the topic: I think the answers given based on the question (avoiding the issue on what was suggested to be ignored) is sufficient.

What I begin to think is that the majority of FS players are not interested at all in making hunting more difficult. This is a completely simplistic game.

My internal question to all those clamoring for "challenge" is: would it really help the game? I'm doubting it more and more. For me, I don't think the answer in FS has anything to do with that. Challenge, for good or bad (and questionable), is found in other FS game aspects.

Therein lies the rub, unfortunately. Gear and Buffs have dumbed the game down so much now that most players wouldn't, I suspect, have a clue how to put together a setup to combat "monster A" whilst still being good enough to combat "monster B".

SH / CoAt / CoDe etc have killed the need for any gear other than sets for hunting and, even then, for the most part, LE sets.

I mourn the days where Common items were not only useful, but in some cases, ESSENTIAL.

But, I seem to be in a minority :(

So, I'll make use of those buffs, just to maintain my "position" in game and carry on lamenting the game that it used to be :)

#958392 Why are most rp items so underpowered

Posted by SirAdmiral on 02 February 2016 - 13:43

As for the OP, I agree there are items that need to be adjusted somehow... but not so much the Epics. The main selling point for them is the stam gain and bonus stamina. Plus you can EH 100 with just a single item.

Having said that, the level 100-200 Epics are ridiculously all around with the exception of the Ward and Krumpers.

#955546 What changes would you want to see in PvP/GvG?

Posted by sweetlou on 19 December 2015 - 20:37

Honestly, I feel the best way to get the attention from the cows is to show them that we can come together as a community, and iron things like this out civilly.

The ONLY thing HCS wants to see is FS profit, that alone will garner more developing time. Civility has nothing to do with the game's profitability. In fact a major component of the game is the antagonistic challenge that exists between players - the yin and yang if you please. The fact new forum ideas have dropped dramatically is precisely because there isn't any interaction with Hoof specifically. Players don't bother or even read the forum when nothing that they suggest is realized. The game's health is a direct reflection of the amount of time Hoof is willing to spend coding the game! So now we are left with "events" periodically and more cookie cut content, which is even released without quests.

i'll give my ideas when the cows comment on this thread. I've seen dozens of these threads come and go over the last 7 years. Until they put their official "I care somewhat about this thread" seal on it nothing will change.

I feel this way about every thread. The interaction in the forum that made this game great is gone! Minimally once a week attention from Hoof is needed followed by actual coding time. That would positively change everything...

Simply put, add some more pvp and gvg medals to the game. simple change and should have happened a few years ago.

While I agree pitting a level 25 against a level 249 is tenuous at best, I think it's wonderful players are automatically added to the PvP Ladder. The opting out of playing the PvP game has left the game with precariously entitled players.

What are your thoughts on automatically being opted into the next ladder reset if you participate in any act of pvp? Stealing gold, bounty hunting, smashing, etc..

The GvG ladder needs to reset monthly.. Or at all..

In all honesty gvg/pvp have had some updates but I think more needs to be done not sure exactly what.

I liked the seasons myself and wanted to keep that process since it was a huge challenge to go after bigger players.  If you look at my bio I managed to make it work and was rather fun.

I do not have any easy solutions to improve these areas and yes I do play from time to time in both.  I think if you just want to hit creatures and level that is okay too and both sides of the issue need to respect and understand it takes players of all types to play fs.

There is no one way only to play the game and hope all players will respect others opinions on the topic.  I would like to add that all areas of the game need updates in mechanics and improvements in how game is played for fun.

May all players take time and respond in forum topics and have fun playing one area of fs or all areas of fs world cheers! :P  :D

#955389 Double Composing XP I!

Technically Christmas is the season of greed. Corporate greed.

We have simply been programmed by media not to notice when they convince us to give away all of our money for no apparent reason.

#955366 Inventable Items

If it's for higher levels where there are less options available, I totally agree with you.

People nowadays whine and cry (or at least they used to) if gear doesn't have damage on it. Would you be ok with gear that has Attack/Armor on it? Or Attack/Defense?

I have uses for both of those gear combinations you mention, depending on their slots. I have combat sets for SE hunting and Arena as well as for normal levelling, so, to answer your question, yes.

Enhancement bonuses are not shown in sets.

It would also be nice to maybe sort by items enhancements.
