A total of 2,036 players voted and of that 515 liked the update, compared to 974 who preferred how the game was before. This means of the players who either liked or disliked the updated, over 65% preferred how the Bounty Board and PvP Ladder used to work. Or if you include the players that didn't mind along with people who disliked the update - it would give a total percentage of 74.7%.

How can you lump in the "I don't mind" votes with the "No" votes? It seems to me that "I don't mind" is closer to "Yes" than it is "No", as it means "I don't positively like it, but I can live with it" as opposed to "I don't like it". If you add the "I don't mind" votes to the "Yes" group, your numbers come out quite different, as it would make the "Yes/Don't mind" vote 52.16%.

 

Subtracted out numbers provided to get the "Don't mind" number.

Total ... 2036
Yes ... 515
No ... 974
Don't mind ... 547
 

Also, your 65% number is only including the "Yes/No" votes in the total, completely disregarding the "I don't mind" voters. To me, this seems like skewing the statistics a bit by completely eliminating one of the voting options.

I thought the poll asked if we liked the current system, not that we were ompletly reverting back to the old...

Setting you up to fail? Not quite. The numbers for this event were the same as the Yeoman one last month which was obliterated. The numbers are fine. What we need is a little more incentive to get people to put more of their stam into the event.

I have no problem having a 101 to 250 prize as well. Maybe just one of the Ruby chests?

We could allow all the Global class creatures to drop a little gold to help with the repair costs, sure.

Not terrible sure about giving a level 25 creature level 100 XP (let alone 200) though we could consider a bit more than it is now. Maybe level 50 XP?

As for spreading the globals out, they are pretty much meant to run as frequently as is reasonable. Maybe one Potion Global every 3 months but the calls for the Frag globals are always fairly frequent.

What reality am I in? One where I'm not ignorant or oblivious to how players use PvP in this game.. I was in the warrior kings throughout the whole summer. I know about terrorizing players through PvP. To ignore what I witnessed and was apart of, would to be living outside reality..

No, I don't understand. In FS, nobody really gets hurt, nobody dies. You lose a handful of XP and a tiny bit of gold (unless I'm lucky and MT kicks in, and even then, the guy's got <100K on hand).... I'm so sorry, it's so awful you have to kill 3 more beasties to get that back... and here I made you waste that stam... Please, help me understand why this is so bad....

I can almost understand the guy who just gave me his gold, but he's been around a long time now, he should know how to secure it. A big wallet is just an invitation for me.

I can understand the guy who just received a bloody nose from me.... But if I did, I had a reason.... I will stand behind friends and guildmates. I have undying loyalty for those I love. And it's not always pretty to be spanked by Pennah, and I can understand if this might upset someone.

So, help me to understand about the 1st one. Why is 3 beasties worth of XP so blasted important, anyway?

Let me flip the question. If 3 beasties worth of xp is NOT important then why not just remove XP loss? It's no big deal right? You say xp loss is not a big deal but then when xp loss removal is considered, all heck breaks loose. Huge hypocrisy. If you truly belive xp loss is no big deal then you won't care if it's removed or not... Just like other pvp games

You simply can't protect yourself, can you? You are exactly who PvP Protection has been introduced to protect. I feel sorry for you. So let's pretend your idea became reality. I would simply have to hit more times hurting your xp even more. Gold stealing percentages are abysmal to begin with. Hope of Master Thief kicking is the only bright spot. If you go offline with 5m, I'm going to hit you hourly until I get at least 4m of it, maybe in your case 4.75m :P

Again with the insults so I'll respond in kind. You have just proved my point about why the level should not be increased, it's not about PvP with you it's about punishment.  I said before that you are the posterchild for everything wrong with PvP and you continually prove it over and over. The majority of PvP'ers that I've met in the game are honorable and play by a code that they follow, your style of play however is why non-PvP'ers are adamantly opposed to any increase in broadening the range of  levels that can be attacked.  In this case you are your own worst enemy not me. As far as defending myself, you're right I can't because your kind strike when I'm off line, no buffs  and in stam gear...there is no viable defense for me  in that situation.

Many of those who want the ranges extended is in the group of players that like to bully other players and attack them only to provoke and harass in a legal way. I believe nothing good will come out of this and voted no like the majority and hope this will be left unchanged.

I nailed it. Your guildmates have caused you to lose xp. I knew it! I saw the guild you're in and now know why. I and many people love taking levels from your associates. Yep, you are guilty by association so that when someone 100 stams me off the BB, my guildmates and allies take 5 every time!! Do you have a problem with that? Here's another saying; you reap what you sow! No wonder you want FREE or nearly FREE protection. You don't want to stand side by side with some of the players you associate with. This is a good lesson in life so take note and again good luck young man.

This is why everyone in the game hates PvP this attitude and this behaviour right here this is why nobody wants ranges opened up wider nor any PvP changes made you boldly boast about your post and roast list so im just curious how many people do you not delevel and 100 stam? I might assume in my guess the only people that get your 10 stam lovey dovey taps is fellow allies that would also be in PvP only guilds and dont defend what you are by saying oh im a leveler and a titan hunter and blah blah blah your a pvp guild and a pvp member that bullies anyone who hits you or doesnt share like minds. You say if i dont wanna get hit and 5 delevels every time i should leave my guild? my guild is full of people that have helped me in a great deal since joining why would i turn my back on them cause you and your guild and your allies have a beef with one player that happens to be my best pal on here your answer is guilt by association spoken like a true bully. And on your idea that the people or guilds should grow a pair and hit back some do but to what good? what good is 3 to 5 people standing up to 3 to 4 guilds worth of 100 stams on the BB? PvP is dead and you all killed it by your actions of hate and intimidation. I used to be all for pvp but not anymore cause all it benefits is people like you reply what you wish troll all you want im content with my post.

You know what would be nice? It would be nice if this PvP/leveler dispute was buried once and for all. I'd like to see HCS (Any of them) make a thread about the subject. In this thread would be the following things...

 

1. The game belongs to us.

2. We make the rules. They are how we want the game to be played.

3. You can either like those rules and play by them, or not.

4. Stop making more threads about this subject.

 

Then, when they hit the post button.....lock the thread. 

 

At this point, I don't care what the rules are. Just make them already, then everyone can move on and inevitably moan about something else.

If people thought all the people who left over PvP changes a couple years ago was a large exodus from the game, HCS will not be too pleased to see how many would likely walk if this got implemented. Not saying I would, but please this is a joke of an idea, and one I and several other eviscerated why it's a terrible idea last time it came up...

 

Content Acceleration will solve so many problems it's not even funny. Also, PvPers are just so unwilling to poke each other, that they're running out of targets to poke as they level up.

 

I doubt any of the people for this are willing to nerf the amount of times they can slam someone they don't like to once every 24 hours to compensate for the amount of people they will be able to target now will they? 

 

Of course not. We all know what the root motive of this push has always been about. It's about certain players being able to slam people en mass hourly they don't like over drama from 5 years ago they're still salty about. 

 

Being able to poke someone who has been offline for a couple days with no defensive response possible while you juice up buffs is plenty enough incentive to PvP imo. 

 

FS has to have and keep in mind revenue. If there ever was an idea to kill activity this might be high on the Top 10 bad idea list for HCS.

You do have a point.... but I think your points are essentially the same, in as much as those that hate PvP so badly don't play the whole game, I think leefy is pointing out that PvP is an integral part of the game, it isn't going away, nor should it.  And although there are countless threads about the topic in this forum, it has historically gotten the least overall attention as far as improvements are concerned than any other part of the game.  It just gets nerfed nerfed nerfed.  Time for us to get some good stuff, too....

My point is simple... this game has a lot to offer. some may want to do pvp, some may not. Some may want to chase SE's, some may not. You think PVP is nerfed, I think it's Over powered. I don't think it should go away but it should be fixed. I like some of what rocknoor suggested. Real PVP.

 

I do understand why some fight it tooth and nail and will send nasty PM's to anyone that dares take away the teeth PVP has. How else to punish players who dare break the unwritten rules of PVP or mouth off or send nasty PM's. Somehow I don't think that's the players job. Fix this and I'm all for it. Until then, can't wait to try it myself and see who complains.

 

It does disappoint me that some of the thinly veiled threats within this post as well as the goal of ostracizing players (Attack the whole guild until the target player is kicked out) is accepted practice.

For as long as I've played the game, PvP has been changed almost yearly. Not 1 time, in my opinion, has it become more PvP friendly. The players who strictly level have not only the loudest voice, but also the most sympathy - for whatever reason. If anyone denies this, then they simply aren't being honest, or not paying attention.

"Levelers" have PvP protection, the bounty board, and support tickets. That, however, still isn't good enough. The real problem is that some of them want to be able to hold 20 million gold so they can play the marketplace, etc - and have no worries. Don't believe me? Hit a guy with a ton of gold and watch the show. You want to talk about insults? I've been called every name in the book because of gold hits. I hear all this noise about XP in the forums, but none of the nasty PM's I've ever gotten were about XP. It's all about the gold. That's why PvP protection isn't good enough for these particular players. It still doesn't protect the gold when you are carrying a large amount. 

 

Basically, don't roofie me and call it romance. Tell it like it really is, and go from there.

Not 1 time - No change has ever been made that was pro-pvp the whole time you have played? Your denial statement rings very true...

 

I've never complained to the hitter for gold or xp loss. I'm sure it happens but does it happen every single time? From the other players point of view, something did actually happen to those players in game that put them back in their progress... wanna hear crazy? Simply talking in the forums around ideas to get more pvp action resulting in nasty PM's. Somehow this is not an affront. Brain storming ideas good/bad results in nasty PM's is ok... losing gold/level resulting in nasty PM's is not ok... IMHO, nasty PM's in general is not ok but people only take offense to one type and not the other. interesting... denial indeed.

i dislike pvp its not my thing but i dont mind being smacked i do however dislike being hit over and over for no other reason then the person wanting to do it ..if you hit a person when they either cant nor want to defend or hit back then whats the point, if you hit someone unable to defend themselves in real life what would you be branded ,you guessed it a bully just cause this is a game doesnt change what a person is when they fit that profile..

now give me a buff (only works while offline because you cant defend offline) that has a 10% chance that the attacker will automatcically fail thier attack regardless of buffs etc and will be hit back with the equivalent of a 10k stam hit enough to knock them down several levels then you can call it pvp because then you face a risk that will cost you dearly.

Prestige was meant to be a small bonus to xp for those that also pvp'd.

 

It wasn't meant to be used by levellers as an easily attained buff for every time they levelled.

It's not meant to be traded risk free.

It also wasn't intended to be stockpiled.

 

It was simply meant to give a small boost to help pvp'ers maintain their level while they pvp.

 

It shouldn't be used in any of the ways people are proposing really, be it levellers accruing it for hunts, or pvp'ers wanting to use only portions of their accumulated prestige.

 

Unfortunately in FS land the old adage, "Give and inch and they'll take a mile." is absurdly prevalent.

Voted no, Although I don't really see any point in giving a supporting reason.

 

If I don't say, "pvp rules, I love pvp because it is awesome." then someone will simply attempt to batter down my post with endless amounts of garbage and half-truths, I really don't have the time or inclination to get into another pointless pvp debate.
