If you don't PvP anyway, you really have no dog in this hunt.
Uh, they really do because the non PvPer's are the ones who will be firmly in the cross hairs here.

i didn't demand anything or give out orders.. i just asked nicely..
thanks for for continuing ruining my spirits with this game like many others have.. i've been mocked, insulted, and attacked via personal messages from just posting a couple PvP threads.. i've tried to remain calm and determined to continue a discussion i think could benefit the thought process of the cows when they decided to change PvP for the better.. tis why i made a thread of what DO or Don't you like about pvp....
a lot of players have come in here to just smash down players' opinions on PvP instead of displaying their own on the subject and moving on.. the way some players talk to others can be so disheartening to read...
i hope those who have come in here and have stated their opinion and have stayed out of the mud slinging come back to other discussions and aren't put off from the forum due to toxic individuals.. i thank you for your time for stating your opinion and taking the high road
That kinda says it all, utter disgrace. (Polite version for the sake of the kids).
Cheers.

I should have guessed this would turn into the debate that
PvP is Evil vs PvP is God *sigh*
I thought the thread was "WHAT DON'T YOU LIKE ABOUT PVP?" - surely those that love it can make their "I love it" comments in the "WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT PVP?" thread and leave the comments in here about the reasons why players don't like it ?
That way, if it ever happens, the cows can see concise reasons why players DO like it in the DO like thread and concise reasons why players DON'T like it in the DON'T like thread...

Let me be the first to say that I love PvP, that being said I don't like it in it's current form. When you engage in PvP, be it prestige, gold hits or just smashing for the heck of it, you assume certain risks. Those risks entail being hit back 1 on 1 or more often the case being placed on the BB. Here is where my problem with PvP starts. Being placed on the Bounty Board is "punishment" for some infraction you perpetrated on the placer of the Bounty. If you lose 5 then shut up that's just part of the deal. Where my problem starts is the "rules" that the hunted go by...don't start on a current bounty, don't 100 stam me, don't do this don't do that or I'll counter bounty you. Why should anyone on the Bounty Board be able to counter bounty anyone? You are there as a "punishment" why should you be able to respond to the attacks that you caused by initiating a PvP attack on someone by being able to counter bounty? In my humble opinion there should be no ability to counter bounty a bounty hunter. You got yourself placed on the BB, deal with consequences and move on.

It's Christmas time and HCS sent us a suprise,
I went to mailbox and couldn't believe my eyes,
A wee box was there and Chrismas is what it said,
For me? But I am but a ned,
Big pots I found inside,
My joy I could not hide,
A big thank you to HCS I must give, your generosity brought a little tear.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year!
Cheers.

and? that doesn't exactly force HCS to pump out more levels..
what it does encourage is better overall content, including end game, throughout the whole game so those at EOC are plenty occupied while the cows introduce new levels as often as they want to..
think out.. not up..
how fun is content at EOC? Quests seem like the usual bore and look spread out even more than down here (15 quests total between 2200-2325).. is that the type of content you "scream" for more of? or is it just the number associated with the highest realm? .. you'd think it would be pretty boring up there with less people than there could be.. you know.. waiting.. waiting for more content.. new legendary, super elite, and titan gear to be released near your level range.. new skills that are hundreds of levels past due..
you'd think more players at EOC would mean more fun for those doing all that waiting.. even just getting more players spread through all those higher levels (1000+) would gives those who are already there some more adventurers to battle with.. along side or against..
why worry about the next 25 levels when we should be focused on the last 2300+

I think this is a great idea.
It allows for a more equitable distribution of an xp event. New and lower leveled players would get a big boost and make them feel more appreciated. As it is, an xp event doesn't do much for a player who doesn't have much stam, or even have the possibility to bank enough stam. Let's promote keeping the new player around even more. It will help the game!
On the other hand the selfish higher level player will typically be against this type of proposal thinking it hurts them, also that they had it harder to gain xp. Well, that will always be the case. Look at the uber buffs and gear that is available. I was only one hitting until about level 180. The game has progressed, live with it.

It takes me approximately 3000 stam for a level
the same for me when not using too many Epic potions.. but with the amount i level, i can see a couple global quests pass before i burn my stamina pool.. so i can burn less..
it's really easy to take a level or five from a player.. compared to how much it takes to earn a level at the MAJORITY of all the levels.. think about that... lets just say at level 500+ it takes around 3k to earn a level.. 2.5 for a random average.. thats the majority of the levels in this game so far and it keeps growing.. it takes 500 stamina to take a level on the bounty board!!!
why is the punishment for PvPing so harsh? and why do some players still want that harshness?
i was REALLY REALLY excited about the XP loss removal.. i finally thought, here we are going to see a vibrant PvP aspect that could grow into something even bigger...
think about what type of MMOs you like to play and how you'd like this game to work with how the combat and buff/potion system works.. what type of PvP would you like to see? one where you get to mainly smash level.. or one you get to actually battle with another player using the expansive mechanics of Fallen Sword...

I think titan hunting would become instantly more popular if the cheating were removed from it ....
For years there have been allegations about players who are able to, as if by magic, appear on one side of the map and then, miraculously, within a second, be on the other side of the map racking up kills.
I know there are measures in place to try to prevent scripting in titan hunting but I can't comment to their effectiveness as only HCS have that information, but I think more needs to be done...

Defending yourselves Vs a Bounty Hunter? Seriously? If you were on the Bounty Board, it's because you hit someone. So no. It's not extreme for that player to hit bounties, sorry. That's what Bounty Hunters do.
Absolutely trying to ruin someone's game for an imagined slight? That's very much extreme.

I think that the change to the xp loss system to PvP xp loss only would be good for all. PvP players will have something to work for (earning PvP levels) and levelers will not have to worry about losing hunting levels. This may even get die hard levelers (like myself lol) to go back to some PvP. If all I have to worry about is PvP xp, then I'm way more likely to give it a go.
My two cents. Ok, with today's economy, my 1 and a half cents worth! ![]()

I despair
Everyone is looking at this as though XP loss removal is a given. I don't think it is and I don't think anyone else should. Hoof, the owner of the game, the real decision maker has made comment with regard to these "for and against" threads, if you can call them that, and stated he will look at ALL info provided. Continually arguing, and I'm afraid this is what's happened, rather than debating the pros and cons of XP loss removal is, again in my opinion, detremental to the whole issue. Us, the folks that play FS, have a great opportunity to have a say in a huge change in the game. Continue the debate, suggest ideas, look at the bigger picture. Please.
Cheers.
