We're not going to add xp from PvP attacks so I'm going to say no on that one sorry. I realise the PvP Ladder is opt-in, but I still don't think it makes sense to allow the attacks to be bountiable by a player unless we look at some form of automatically posting a bounty without (or heavily reduced) xp loss. I think it would be a huge disincentive to take part considering there is already xp loss applied to PvP Ladder hits.

 

Note with the update you won't gain PvP Rating unless you specifically do a PvP Ladder attack - you won't gain or lose any PvP Rating now for completing a bounty on a player that is also on the ladder.

NOT adding XP to ALL PvP attacks !!!

ONLY from DEFENDING bounty attacks that were posted by the "auto-bounty-system" from PvP ladder attacks !!!

ONLY PvP ladder BOUNTIES will get +25% (or +50% XP upon a defending win)

Everyone seems agreed that rewards are some sort of magic bullet for the ladders.

call it "magic bullet" or whatever you want but I am sure you know that without any "decent" rewards there would he hardly any player activity on almost any game aspect, be it arena, gvg, titan hunting, ..... so why whould the PvP ladder be an exception in your opinion, can you please explain that?

 

How active were the ladders when they were extremely lucrative in the past? Players or HCS can answer this.

I played the PvP ladder for years when it was active, stayed in the 800 - 899 for 1,5+ years and do not remember ever being alone on it + it was only 100 stam hits !!!

 

Helhearts was an absolute FSP melter for a long time, costing hundreds and hundreds of FSP. Maybe even thousands at its peak. In demand by levellers, gained by pvp players, who then charged a premium.

I joined the PvP ladder after helhearts was introduced as a reward (at least a year after, so helhearts was even more expensive back then, when I started playing the PvP ladder years ago I was selling 1 helhearts item for 200 - 250 fsps each !! (the whole set would sell for 400-500 fsps, depending on supply & demand)

 

When it, and agiads etc. were selling for large quantities of FSP, what were the numbers like on the ladders?

to be honest I did not pay too much attention to all ladder bands, only to a few where I and some friends were participating BUT my band had about 4-8 players in average, worst I have seen in my band was 2 and most was 22-23, I was almost "forced" to opt-out because I could not keep up "stamina-wise" with the attacks & buffs and did not want to buy so much stamina with FSPs (ps: I do not know how much agiads was selling for, I was mostly only selling helhearts)

 

ps: during my 1,5 years in the 800 - 899 ladder band I was in a small guild called TPO !!!

I seem to remember we had a poll on the forum a while back (last year?) about this and the majority didn't want to see bounties added back to the PvP Ladder.

 

One option that might work however is if, like you say, we auto-generate some bounties based on PvP Ladder attacks (and during PvP Events), but make it so there is either no xp loss on the bounty or a highly reduced xp loss (ie. so the xp available on the bounty is either 0 or a fraction of what it would normally be). That may help keep the bounty board populated without heavily penalising players taking part in the PvP Ladder and PvP Events.

 

so what you are saying is practically NO XP LOSS on PvP ladder bounties?

  • bounty hunters do not lose any xp upon getting defeated on the BB
  • players would then STOP spending resources (stamina, time, fsps, ...) to defend a bounty, why would they if they are not losing any XP (take the last season for example, a lot of players STOPPED defending incoming attacks because 1) newER rewards were not given out anymore ("only" the 12 EPIC potions) .... 2) there was "no" "damage" after getting defeated ....

in my opinion XP LOSS needs to stay BUT to reduce XP LOSS intruduce """ if you win a defending combat on the BB then you will be awarded with +25% XP of how much XP the bounty attack would have taken from you and NOT from your opponent """" <------ only works on "PvP ladder bounties !!! NOT normal bounties !!!

or make it even +50% XP !!!

 

this will "force" players to defend their bounties and if they are good enough they can even level up from it wink.png

besides PvP ladder players are supposed to PvP so this will encourage them to defend PvP ladder bounties as they would defend PvP ladder attacks !!!

someone joining the PvP ladder should be in a PvP setup for the duration of the PvP ladder, attack and defend !!! if he is in epics (like me for example tongue.png ) then it is his / her own fault !!!

it is called PvP ladder to PvP !!! attack & defend !!!

this option will bring a reduced XP loss too with the effect of "forcing" players to actually defend in PvP, what do you think?

 

@HCS: please at least introduce NEW REWARDS & PvP LADDER BOUNTIES asap !!!

Ladder hits were made non-bountyable because some players were using bounties to gain an edge on the ladder.  Everyone has opted into the ladder so XP loss is expected.  Bounties should not happen from ladder hits just like bounties didn't belong in Seasons any more than the arena.

this is is one thing that many players wanted HCS to fix but instead they went and removed bounties from the PvP ladder which of course negatively affected the BB activity !!!

 

HCS needed to bounties in the season to keep the BB alive and they were right to do so and that is the SAME REASON why bounties need to stay on the PvP ladder !!!

 

 

There is a reason bounties were removed from the ladder. People opt in to hit each other and already lose xp. If you can bounty them for each hit, you can essentially bully them out of the ladder by taking their levels on the board for beating you on the ladder..

So being able go post ladder hits is a BAD idea if you want to increase activity on the ladder.

as much as I dislike the season it proved us that bounties on season (pvp ladder) GREATLY increases the BB activity (over 95%+ of the bounties I saw during the season were from season attacks), besides we had bounties on the PvP ladder for years and when it was removed the BB took a serious hit

 

I think the best course of action would be:

  • to implement the "auto-bounty-sytem" (the one from the season) to the PvP ladder
  • FIX that bounties taken by ladder participants to NOT give PvP rating !!!
  • Bounty Hunter loses XP too if he is defeated in combat !!!
  • bounties placed by the "auto-bounty-sytem" are "differently" marked (maybe color or a extra letter)
  • if you win a defending combat on the BB then you will be awarded with +25% XP of how much XP the bounty attack would have taken from you and NOT from your opponent !!!                                              (+25% XP is only given for winning a defending BB combat on "PvP ladder bounties") <---- +25% NOT from your opponent to counter EXPLOIT like this EXAMPLE: lvl 2600 & lvl 200 can come to an agreement: lvl 2600 attacking lvl 200 and losing on purpose would give the lvl 200 about ~+7 mil XP and the lvl 200 would then be able to "fly" through the levels !!! that is why it should be +25% XP of how much XP the bounty attack would have taken the person on the BB !!!
  • if your level is at EOC then you will NOT be given any +25% XP upon winning a defending BB combat on "PvP ladder bounties " <---- this is to counter EXPLOIT
  • NEW MEDAL: you successfully defended your bounty for 48 hours !!!
  • NEW MEDAL: you successfully defended your bounty xx times !!!

there are currently PvP medals for "initiating" combats BUT non so far for "defending"

I think the """ +25% XP is only given for winning a defending BB combat on "PvP ladder bounties" """ is a good solution (at least now the defending player can earn some XP back on a "PvP ladder bounty" + NEW MEDALS draw activty :)

 

 

@HCS: please at least introduce NEW REWARDS & PvP LADDER BOUNTIES asap !!!

I would like to see these:

  • tweaking the PvP Bands like hoof first said, a good EXAMPLE:

you could open the pvp bands a little more, 300 levels above level 900, like this:

2400-2699

2100-2399

1800-2099

1500-1799

1200-1499

900-1199

  • OPT-IN (those who do not want to PvP should not be forced to) !!!
  • 10 - 50 stamina (50 stam taking the same XP as 100 stam): PvP is already swallowing a lot of stamina, would be nice to be able to PvP "longer" / "more" with the same amount of stamina
  • XP loss
  • Bounty Board: counter bounties, bounty hunting should not be "risk-free"
  • Bounty Board: I want to be able to choose "when" (=up to 48 hours) to post the attacker !!!
  • Bounty Board: 5 levels can be max taken from a bounty !!!
  • Bounty Board: each time you attack someone on the BB you spend 1 Bounty Ticket (like the idea from the season)
  • Bounty Board: Bounty Hunter loses XP too if he is defeated in combat !!!
  • Bounty Board: you have 48 hours to post a bounty before it expires and bounties last 48 hours too on the BB !!
  • Bounty Board: the season has shown us that the ability to get posted increases BB activity, that is why ladder bounties should return too !!! or at least introduce the same auto-bounty-system to the ladder too to increase BB activity !!!

 

season was "mainly" active because of 2 important things:

1) NEW REWARDS

season had NEW REWARDS ======> which brought season activity !!!

PvP ladder has NO new rewards ====> which brought hardly any activity !!!

Solution: add NEW REWARDS to the PvP ladder TOO =====> to get PvP ladder activity

 

2) BOUNTIES

season had bounties =========> which brought BB activity !!! (over 95%+ of bounties I saw were from season hits & I was often checking the BB)

PvP ladder has no bounties =========> which brought hardly any activity !!!

Solution: add bounties to the PvP ladder TOO =====> to get BB activity

 

players asked you to remove bounties from the season because it did not make any sense to place bounties and lose XP if the season had NO XP LOSS !!!

BUT HCS kept the bounties in the season because they knew that if they removed them then the BB would become inactive !!!

so why would you remove bounties from the PvP ladder if you knew that the BB activity would decrease a lot because of it & wonder why there is hardly any BB activity????

 

if you offered the season the same old ladder rewards then there would have been hardly any activity too, afterall who would spend thousands of stamina, fsps, potions & time just to get a few tokens worth less than 10 fsps after 3 weeks of PvP????

 

@HCS: please at least introduce NEW REWARDS & PvP LADDER BOUNTIES asap !!!

you did them for the season to increase activity so please do them to the PvP ladder to increase activity too !!!

you can then later tweak the PvP system (I posted some points at the beginning: 10-50 stam, ....) but please do these 2 things first ASAP !!!

I was thinking of this too.. Saving FSP for flash sale on BP for this event or stam flash sale for another XP event that they say will occur in Dec.
