#885491 Suggestions for new Arena, GvG and PvP Ladder Rewards?

    Just making a statement about pricing of these future new potions .. ( referring to what I know,  the arena)  If HCS starts pricing items 200-300+ tokens. That will defeat the purpose of adding new rewards. The purpose is to get folks interested and actually playing on a consistent basis. We had an exceptional amount of interest during the roll-out of the new token based system, and also when some of the more desired potions in the arena, like BM300 and LB300 were 20 tokens to purchase. That excitement was quickly squashed when for weeks the potions were raised to 2000 tokens. In trying to stabalize the market ( supply and demand) It returned back to its original state. In other words the people that played, still play and all those new faces I was seeing have stopped playing. No one has said what or how much the new items will cost, however, If you are going to bring NEW items to the table , do you want to feed everybody or just a few ? I'm suggesting selling many at a smaller price(100 or less) will increase interest ( a proven profit making business model -- selling in high volume reduced price) 

    I suppose having one or two ungodly priced items reserved for arena masters is what some are looking for .. so I would suggest you feed the lions as well, but make them bound! ..... and that is all :)

+1, completly agree....if it costs 200 tokens or more for a 1 time use potion...that will defeat the purpose of getting new blood in arena...it would take a newer player a long time (probably only has 1-3 arena setups), and loads of gold to get to 200 tokens...most all,  would quit before 100 tokens (is why most have already quit arena, even 100 tokens for a new player to arena is difficult)..for arena masters and high level players that enter mostly all, if not all tourneys, since gold is like pennies to them....200 tokens is done in hours, 1000 tokens in a day...so, of course they want everything high priced...easy for them...hard for the rest of us...more profits for them...and less players trying arena...more prizes for them...the arena masters do not want more players...tis why they always complain about suggestions that would help the newer players..

 

i totally aqgree about bound prizes..i thought all potions would have already been bound to make more player try arena..and then, the cost for prizes could be lower to a more reasonable amount for new player to achieve..

It would be easier to just change the ratio of the total fragments in the chest by upping the percentage that are commons, such as:

 

Commons = 95%

Rare = 3%

Unique = 1%

Legendary = 0.5%

Crystalline = 0.25%

Super Elite = 0.25%

+1, fully agree...i could live to be 1000 years old and never use all my se, crystal frags..and like someone said..frags and composing was to be a help for se creatures and legendary creatures...and arena for the crystal...the global events killed that...

More PvP can be encouraged by scrapping the ladder and bringing back the old pvp rating system from when I started in '09. All this is going to be is people clustered together having free reign to mass delevel people they don't like, and prestige trading and farming with people they do. Anyone who says that won't be going on on a number of occasions if we do this is lying.

 

The bring back the old rating system and reduce the price of pvp protection in the gold upgrade section, gold sink and widen the pvp game. Increasing the rate at which players can go through content from 1-400 and 422-940 by boosting the xp creatures in those zone give a piece will drastically reduce this issue of "not enough people in range"

 

As I've said before boosting the benefit of xp gain and the amount of xp/hour that items/gear/epics given in xp gain will also aid this as well as give value to some items typically not deemed worthwhile. (But that's totally off-topic there I admit)

 

 

 

In short if HCS is willing to accelerate advancement through content to mid-level content and retain the long drawn out process for post Karthak, you'll have a lot more people sticking around long enough to engage in other areas of the game, including pvp, making donations as they feel they're actually getting somewhere and thus more targets to pvp with and against each other..... accelerating old content will address a large chunk of issue FS has at this point in time.

 

We didn't have 2175 levels of content back 3 years ago, so anyone trying to use the "win button" argument that started playing pre 2010 is full of BS as far as I'm concerned.

 

Play retention will do more than enough good to resolve this for those in the mid-hundreds like you Badpenny. It will also make it less "painful" for bunnies to test out and get their butts kicked by making forays into pvp when it's not 1-2 weeks of work undone for testing out an area of the game they hadn't done before and getting a taste of it. Sure make the level loss more meaningful post Karthak, but really this whole aspect that it takes almost two years for a new player even with heavy donating to get to that point when EOC is now past 2000, is literally killing the game, which cascades into every aspect of it, in particular getting people involved into the game long enough that they WANT to get into pvp/gvg, and might even be willing to LOSE levels to get into a zone they'd like to fight it out in...

 

Doing so might actually create totally new level zones to become competitive that had never been truly competitive before in FS, which can create a whole separate niche for pvpers to fill for guilds and players as a whole in those areas of the game with the increase in targets reaching that zone.

+1. completly agree...especially with the increase of speed of leveling early in the game..i tried to make a thread about that and got extremly flamed...most saying i was trying to get easy way to eoc...i am level 400...eoc at the rate i am going will happen 2 or 3 lifetimes from now..even speeding it up will not cause players to get to eoc quickly..but more  are need to get at least 1/2 thru the game , which open up more of the game for them, thus retaining more players...win,win for cows.....pvp does need to go back to old system..and make pvp protection slightly cheaper for those that does wish to partake...

I think having a mix of straight gold tournaments as well as token tournaments is a good idea! gotta give the +1 to brice and dulcharn and anyone else that may have asked that we get the gold tournies back!!! 

i also think some gold tourneys could be needed...some really cheap ones to help the newer players getting into arena...and some high gold ones for the higher level, high rollers that dont mind losing 100k in one arena tourney....and as leos mentioned..a big difference between gold going into bank and gold going into hand..all works for gold sinks..

But I think entry fees are way to high. Even though profit is not my main motivation, I just like to win my arenas, it would still be nice to be able to cover my entry fees. Currently that is not possible, there is only a few items/potions left which bring a few fsp. So despite that I'm winning quite a few every now and then, my resources are going down.

 

And that also means that for new/lower level players it is even harder. It is great to see several arenas atm <L.50, but which player at that level is going to join them when they have to pay 10-50k per entry?

 

and meanwhile the balance of level range of available arenas seems to be tipping into the other direction again....50% of the arenas are <L.200. This proves that it is just too expensive for people in that range to join a lot of arenas.

+1, i agree, there needs to be some lower costing arena for the lowest levels...players just starting out cant afford to blow thru many fsps just to win a handful of tokens..if they win any at all..and has caused those super low level tourneys to stall....too many 16 player tourneys..they are stalling up arena also..new prizes (upgrades or something) are going to be needed real soon or the fun (not much fun) of winning just tokens for worthless prizes wont last long...

many months into composing, and what started out as fun..is no longer fun..0 fun..composing failure..where are all the good buffs that were promised...nothing in the works for months..composing is now a daily chore...and no fun in it at all...long long tiresome journey just to make another level and get nothing..please cows add the buffs that were promised when composing began..

all good ideas, and yes the game need more events , more often.......but where are the cows..seems nobody at work anymore...arena still needs lots of fixing...composing needs fixing..pvp needs fixing..gvg needs fixing..please cows fix these major areas, and then maybe do lots of events...these small events seem to be keeping the cows from fixing the major aspects of the game that sorely need it...arena, over 2 weeks since major screwed up update..and nothing done since..where are the cows..

i failed to see how any of the low token suggestions by many would EVER succeed, if any of those items are to be salvaged within the next 9 to 12 months they need MUCH bigger markups, now noone has to win the "crap" stuff and with everyone able to own MANY of each set it makes everything almost worthless anyway, best hope is the new prizes grim mentioned and making them something for people to chip away at, some saving grace for at least the potions is they were marked up to 2k tokens but i wonder how many people have bp's full of them :)

 

EDIT: eg, in the first couple of days i could have bought THOUSANDS of the potions ;)

many did buy 100's if not 1000's of them and thus the market for arena prizes are forever crashed..which makes pricing those pots now very difficult..and like i just said earlier..i do think all prices need to go way higher than what i first suggested..and i totally agree, that new prizes of some sort need to be made..new gear, new pots, maybe upgrades...what we have now is not going to help attract players to try arena..

cool...thanks for answer bg...i started this post and after some time and seeing how much all prizes have hit rock bottom, I have a big headache and makes pricing these prizes awfully hard (good luck bg)- i think all of my suggested prices need to be doubled or tripled, or else all arena prizes will be completly worthless...(if not already, due to major error the first day), so i have been thinking about other possible prizes- namely upgrades 

 

since 1 token = 4k (i do believe they are worth more than that, selling prizes will get you more than 4k per token)

here are some suggested prices, feel free to come up with your own ideas for pricing

 

+1 current stam- 1 token

+1 max stam- 5 tokens

+1 bp slot- 300 tokens

+1 ah slot- 400 tokens

 

 

other upgrades falling around same exchange rate, just no token exchanges for stam gain or xp gain..those need to stay in the fsp upgrade section....just an idea...since many players will not be attracted to arena for the prizes now available,  because all prizes are now worthless, or close to worthless..maybe they will get attracted if they knew they could save up tokens for upgrades..

ok..this is getting old...having very little to join...where are the cows....please fix the level spawning..the community has come together ( for a rare moment) and all agree that this new system will work wonders for arena...please implement quickly...all arena players and wannabees are waiting patiently...we need the level spawning fixed asap...

I like this idea.. As one tournament finishes, another tournament is added in the same range. I really hope that this gets implemented!

here is a simple and very fair solution to the level spawning issue in arena- very easy and fair for all....- 80 total tourneys-  25% (20 each) for level ranges 1-600, 601-1200, 1201-1800, and 1801 to 2400...when one fills up it gets replaced by another in that range..should provide something for everyone at all levels, at all times...no clogging of arena, keeping other levels from spawning..if a certain level range fills up fast..it gets replaced faster...if a certain level range fills slow, it gets replaced slower...but still,  there will always be something for all levels..should be very easy to do...20 in each of the level ranges should be enough to satisfy everyone.....i see no issues with this..feel free to comment..should always be the same amount of tourneys in each level range...no level range should have more than any other level range...plain and simple...hopefully make all arena players happy and eager to join..

ok..someone has to start it out...so i will...please rememebr these are just suggestions to hopefully helps the cows out for pricing the arena token store, feel free to make your own suggestions..

 

lets start with crystal - abrofos, aellos, drawfish, drawfen, ignaitus, alvars, luks, helmars, xerxes, phellans, di xias, torils, dwarf skin, thorsis, cadeyrns and nuadas all should stay around 20 tokens...maybe a little less

 

chornos, volkers, takeos- these should be around 30 or so

 

next, quest items- all except, bothild fire stones, icons of styx, boars tusks - these should all be around 10-15 tokens each

 

boars tusks, icons of styx, a little more 20-25 maybe, and fire stones around 40-50 tokens

 

rescources- all of them should be 10 tokens, to help players try and make invents

 

potions- any ah or bazaar pots- 5 each

 

flinch, stout-hearted, entrench, enchant helm and boots, terrorize, counter attack, animal mag, death dealer, last ditch, hidden coffer- all these at 10 tokens

 

doubler, cloak - 20 tokens

 

conserve, librarian - 50 tokens

 

light foot and brewing master at 100 tokens...

 

there.that is a start..maybe i am way off...feel free to comment...maybe a cow will read this thread and it help them....just trying to help solve a major issue..
