#959329 Pinata Frenzy VI

Posted by Pythia on 17 February 2016 - 00:59

Maybe not this lifetime, but I'm going to play this game in the next one too and I'm going to learn how be the best poltergeist that ever was.

I will be able to click the mouse and roll it all around. :P

I may only be level 5 now, but the future is not written in stone.  lol

#959262 Code Update v2.86

Well  really unfair for composing pots and chest get taken with spell leach and spell breaker. Many work hard to compose pots and do globals .

#959249 Code Update v2.86

Posted by Gutie on 15 February 2016 - 23:26

Tbh, I don't see why event chest potions need to be able to be leeched. They are a finite supply for each player and unable to be ratcheted up in duration like composing ones. If you're using them for PvP, you're going to be blowing them up at a decent clip, and everyone has the chance to get them, unlike Composing being subject to resources to spam level, and people in one's own guild. If anything they level the playing field for those who do not have access to a constant stream of composing potions.

Making them able to be leeched instantly gives those with constant access to high/max composing potions a much bigger edge by being able to leech them away, and the one relying on event chests unable to simply crack another potion like someone relying on composing potions can.

If we want people to participate in the globals, how does reducing the appeal of getting them to non-levelers help in that?

It basically sends a message that people who can afford to donate and buy epic chests as many composing potions as we need like I can, should be given even more of an edge over those who are rewarded for being active and participating in global events, who might not have the same access to do that. Whether intentional or not that's what this change does.

Edit: someone can just slam someone hunting who has AL575 running and nuke that buff on them, that's not only odd, it's obnoxious.

Have to agree with RJ and Altiger. Protecting only the donation pots smacks of P2W (they are already higher power). Losing those key hunting buffs mid hunt would really suck --- and it would massively increase the damage inflicted by a single PVP hit (with all the ill feeling that is likely to open).

And we have had protected globals for several years. Changing them overnight following a stray comment in the forums is going to seem rather arbitrary to much of your customer base, and likely to offend/annoy a significant proportion of them.

After so long, and without any discussion (let alone any complaints), I would have hoped you'd stick with the status quo while undertaking a serious consultation --- if you really felt change was necessary.

#958818 Guild Conflict Countdown

Posted by WWWolf on 10 February 2016 - 15:53

Currently, if you leave a guild during a conflict for whatever reason, the system prevents you from joining another guild until that conflict expires (even if it is completed before then). This is by design and in itself is not a problem.  The problem is, if you are not in the guild, you have no way of knowing when that time is.

If you try to accept an invite to another guild, the only information you get is:

INFORMATION

You cannot join a guild before the expiry time of the conflict initiated by your previous guild while you were a member.

Unless you were diligent in recording the end time of any conflicts before you left, you have to keep trying periodically until it lets you in.  Even if you were diligent, if someone initiated a conflict a second before you click "Leave Guild" you have absolutely no way of knowing.

If there was a countdown on the Join a Guild page or time-stamp in the above message as to when you can join the next guild, it would serve to alleviate a lot of frustration when switching guilds.

#958415 Something to help combat the simplicity of levelling these days.

Posted by yotwehc on 02 February 2016 - 18:15

Well I hope HCS ignores this or apply changes going forward and not retroactive. Most folks clamoring for this are already at EOC or not interested in leveling.

I thoroughly enjoyed leveling and am going to miss it ;-( I know many of my lower level friends are thrilled to gain levels daily and I feel badly for them that people want to slow them down. I like the challenge ideas posted by some but they mostly got ignored.

I also enjoyed that fact that folks are so upset about the OP pots yet they are totally used by themselves. If anything, it's way more fair to give it to the little guys. How harmful is it to give the royal chest to a player with 1-2k max stam? lol.

Anyway, kinda going in circles with the same players repeating the same thing. As Pard recommended, probably better to lock this thread as it has gone off the rails.

#957974 PvP ladder activity

Posted by DragonDave on 28 January 2016 - 22:31

I have had several of our new players complain about getting hit on the Ladder. I ask them  "Then why are you on the Ladder?" Their reply is What do you mean? Isn't everybody on the Ladder? How do I get off of the Ladder? It is terrable getting hit all the time. It makes me want to just quit this game.

There are 249 players on the bottom Ladder band. I have sent messages to several of them asking if they want to be on the Ladder or do they know how to get OFF the Ladder. Most of these players are not even active in the game anymore & the ones that are active are SO GRATEFULL when I tell them how to get off the Ladder.

I think this is a big problem with the game & it is chasing away a lot of players who are just getting started playing.

I think this needs to be changed so that new players have to check the Opt In box rather than having to UNCHECK the Op In box. This is just stupid & makes no sense to me.

#957720 Guild Upgrade Flash Sales

Posted by Egami on 25 January 2016 - 15:29

I actually only "randomly" came back to this post. At this point, both individual and Guild flash sales are relatively underway.

My "me-me" request on Guild Flash sales is for Guild Store spots.

#957537 Zombie Yeomen VI

Hey there.

Global Events are working as we have intended. Potions will stay as they are. We want EVERYONE to have a shot at these rewards. There will be no changes to "limit" who can get what.

I'm a big fan of "if you want something earn it"... Your not able to reach ruby? work on your char upgrades in the meantime so you can achieve it the next or even the event after that.

So the "Up yours Jack, I'm alright" approach eh ?

Thankfully, solving this dilemma, if it even IS a dilemma, is something for the cows to address, but I stand by the "more participation, not less" train of thought myself ...

#954400 The Best Player Medal!

Posted by Mister Doom on 04 December 2015 - 09:20

For the record though, I personally don't agree that being the highest ranked xp player does warrant being given the moniker 'best player' so I AM all in favour of a name change.

And while I'm not against a new medal being introduced that could possible better represent a 'overall best player' title, I really don't think it is even possible. Medal counting doesn't work, since there is no way to break a tie that could involve identical medal count using different medals, without giving certain medals preference over others. (which I would be dead-set against)

A community poll would be a sham, merely devolving into a popularity contest.

Perhaps some kind of behind the scenes checklist the game keeps track of? Something that monitors our precise activity throughout the game, granting medal tick to whichever player scores higher on this? I don't know, even this would fall short as some players spend a lot of time on FS helping other. Their contributions wouldn't necessarily get them any recognition on such a system.

Personally I think we just need to rename the current medal...

That way people who get offended by the game classifying highest xp players as 'best' are assuaged, HCS don't have to assign resources to a new game-wide tracking system and players who have worked towards these medals already aren't completely done-over.

#953985 Next Week's Update

Posted by BigGrim on 27 November 2015 - 13:32

killer im a late bloomer on comp. a thought the guild needs a rank that keep track off players who go guild to guild to  help them keep their guild xp so they dont lose any of thier guild stuff an they can let them self s back in dont know any would work or not thanks

I doubt that would be implemented. Composers have to make the choice to either be a travelling Composer or a Guild Composer. They should not have it both ways.

looks good

Is there any chance that the gold cost could be displayed when you choose a potion to start to compose? Currently the only information available (without going to the new-potion-design page) is the message that you don't have enough gold to compose that potion.

#953949 Next Week's Update

Posted by Hoofmaster on 26 November 2015 - 22:39

Hi all,

Just a quick preview on the update we're planning to put live next week!

The next development update will include:

- Addition of Guild Flash Sales

- Composing improvements, including an option to create a potion in all available composing slots from a template, addition of potion duration to the details of potions being created and also the ability for us to run special 24 hour composing events that give bonus composing xp.

- Improvements to the Pride skill so that it takes into account the quality of the medals as well as how many you have.
