I can't believe how much this idea has changed since its inception. The original idea had merit, it could have drawn in new players to participate in PvP (which was, I'm guessing, the ultimate aim) but now it's been diverted / subverted (take your pick) to just being a "let's revert PvP back to the "glory" days" thread ...

 

I admit, the cows are caught between a rock and a hard place on the subject of PvP - some love it, some hate it - and they have to try and please at least the majority of players.

 

Personally (gee, who would have thought), I think that there are more levellers than there are PvP'rs - and that PvP just isn't as popular as it once was.

 

OK, that may be because some PvP'rs have left the game, and it may be because PvP has been changed, but if it was still as popular and as an important a part of the game as they say it is, then wouldn't it still be popular and not in need of constant threads by the PvP community to change it again ?

 

If it reverted back to the "old days", then I think there would be a bigger exodus of players than there is now - and, before folk throw the "prove it" statements, I'll counter with "you prove me wrong" - neither statement can be proven, both are speculation.

yes, and also before deleting a composing template, or at least add more space between the template button and delete button.  Not such a big deal on a PC but on mobile those buttons are very small and very close together.

The problem I seem to have is that even to get to a decent point in the game seems to take a year or more. That someone can drop a lot of money and time on this game and not get there in 4+ years is a bit weird. I'll stick around a bit just to see what all happens in this game, but I just find that it's a bit jarring to see 2200 levels of content and with all the super stuff I can't even get to 200... which seems to be a month or more away even if I hop online every day to be truthful.

I came back to this game on 9/10/14 and was Level 25 With 750 Stamina Points.

So, in 20 days, you've gained 112 levels and increased your stamina from 750 to 1605 - I, for one, call that pretty good progress.

 

I still fail to see why reaching the (current) end of the game is such a "hurdle" for players.

 

New players have :-

 

1. MUCH better gear available than when us "old-timers" started

2. MUCH better buffs available

3. MUCH easier upgrades to characters without actually having to donate

4. Better "deals" if/when players donate - there were no epic potions and/or 20% offers back in the day

5. The "starter pack" - a MASSIVE boost for VERY little investment

6. A (albeit still not perfect) "training session" to start the game - we were just "thrown in" - took some of us days to figure out that there was more to the game than killing rats and then being demolished by "The Ethereal Guardian" before he was moved

etc. etc. etc.

The game isn't about a mad stampede to get to the end (well, for some it is I suppose) but if you can't, then sit back and enjoy the journey :)

Working on the assumption that Hoof will maintain existing PvP and that this suggestion is not a precursor to that going - and where this assumption has sprung from, I have no idea. BUT ...

 

I really fail to see why PvP'rs are SO vehemently against this ?

 

Folk can try this system out with no risk and, if they like it, make the transition to "real" PvP.

 

Isn't that a WIN for your camp ? - seems to be in my opinion at least.

currently there are 2,225 levels of content

 

these complaints of too much content, "takes too long to get there"...

 

i'm wondering what would be an acceptable amount of time to reach 2,225 is to these people

Yeah, FOR ME all player should always be part of the Ladder, if you don't want to participate into PvP Ladder, buy PvP Protection and you'll be off the Ladder until your protection ends, just like much other games where you buy a 'shield' to prevent attacks on you, a LOT of games have that, maybe the PvP Protection prices can change, maybe also the needed hours for Dominance Medal, don't know...

 

option #6..would be good if the pvp protection prices would change..many players, most of whom never venture to the forums or gc, and just come online for 15 minutes to 1 hr to hunt and come back again when stam refills- they play this game because it is free...making or forcing someone to pay real money, when many players including myself cant afford paying real money for a game, just to be able to protect their characters from pvpers is bad business...while some think the protection prices are ok..i would venture to guess, most players think it is expensive....lower the price of protection to a more reasonable price and maybe be able to make more players happy..pvpers can still hit players with the protection..still get prestige..still steal gold (i personally think more gold should be stolen), still get ladder points...but with the protection..no xp loss...(xp loss is the main reason levelers get so upset about pvp)

Frankly, composing is a pain when using mobile. Too many steps. Way too easy to accidentally delete a template, or click "create and save as template" and get the stupid popup. Plus, I have to go back and redo things 3x now that I have hit level 20. And everything is slooooow relooooading eeevvverrry paaaggeee eeverryyy steepppp.

 

Luckily, there is a simple solution with a single new button!

 

Add a new "Collect" button for completed potions, simply "Collect potions and Remake"

 

The function of this button would do just what it said - collect all completed potions and restart the same template.

I don't feel obligated to answer a ridiculous question that I actually didn't even read nor, now that I have, did I know to whom it was addressed. I don't have any answer for you... mate. My 'code' is I do what I want within the rules of the game. Dig somewhere else. I was simply answering a direct question asked upon me about risk from rebornjedi. I answered it.

 

Really, a ridiculous question? That says it all. Cheers MATE. Getting a better understanding of this PvP code guff.

as for 'crews' i find more the merrier! although when your crew is as good a badpenny there you dont get a look in at top spot! :D

I think i was not clear on my point. yes, the more players on a ladder the funner it can be.  If the point is to get more players playing the ladder then stacking a ladder with 1 crew does not encourage players from other crews to join. It is just a means to abuse the ladder as it was used in the arena.  Or am I to understand the point is not to get more players to play the ladder but to just have PvP players on it?

 

I can only speak for myself but i enjoyed ladders with players from multiple crews... joining and fighting just one is not the same ...

Hmm, a medal for retaking a lost relic? It sounds pretty fair, but wouldn't this be pretty easy to manipulate? All it would take would be two guilds agreeing to trade the same relic back and forth. If there were a way to stop that I think it would be a great idea. 

Can we not manipulate the medal for it now? Just make a deal with another guild and create some weak attack groups and lose a lot.

I would like to see a Month system, like:

January: 18 X titans.
Fecruary: 18 Y titans.
March: 18 X titans (the same from January).
And go on...

That way we will have enough Titans to hunt and not overflooding the market with the same item over and over.

That would be terrible.... You'd basically have the same 4-6 guilds blocking everyone else out of titans by not having overlap into the next month from cooldown via secures. Mind my guild would be one in the mix in benefiting from that kind of system, but it hoses everyone else, which is BS imo.

 

 

 

The difference between implementing new titans and new buffs is that coming up with a new titan name/drop/calibration/ohsobeautiful picture and launching it into the game is, as far as programming is concerned, the same as any of the 25+3+1 creatures released in each content update. The aproximately 2 programmers+1(?) graphic artist of HCS that are still scheduled to maintain the game can grant this. New buffs, on the other hand, seem to be much more of an issue (functions, etc) - there simply HAS to be "some" reason *wink* why the skill-topic hasn't been answered for such a massive time, with HCS not showing even a sign of a sign of a sign of a sign of implementing any new buffs at all. No offense to our admins who still care about us and try their best to tend to our needs - it's just HCS in general (strategy? I guess...) to focus more on their modern games than here. Some new titans would really be fun, with minimal time-investment. 

 

And with a little effort of focusing to on-topic issues instead of my regular rant, I would personally be very enthusiastic about seeing a massive gap regarding epic gear being filled by a REGULARLY, NOT SEASONALLY APPEARING, intermediate-level titan with a piece of ARMOR as a reward. +2 stam gain, +2ish xp gain, and around lvl 500-700. 

This I agree. Throwing some bones to the people in content between both ends would be fantastic.
