#813069 New Super Elites arrive!

Posted by hades8840 on 24 September 2013 - 18:19

Hi forum people I was reading little into this and was wondering why not have the SE's drop fragments as well so people would have a real reason to hunt the unwanted SE's we got running around

they do drop fragments there called items and you break them down

#812518 Composing and potential Upgrades

Posted by PXT on 21 September 2013 - 13:15

I hate the slowness..BUT.. I think it is necessary. Making more than 1 potion at a time is something I would WANT...But already the amount of gear has gone way down, the farmers are doing well. Allowing more than 1 potion will increase demand for gear. Bring in more than 1 pot at a time, and see prices (currently 25k per item) go to 50k or more...High level items are already at 75k each.....consequences people, unintended consequences.

I want more than 1....but I think it would be harmful. Maybe no more than 2 or 3 MAX.

Players are already running out of frags.

#811285 Composing Formulas

Posted by Savanc on 12 September 2013 - 11:22

I have no clue what you are trying to tell me with your teaser as it relates to additional XP and correct usage of the instant gold usage.  Is this an adddtional cost and xp gain over the base calculations.  (ie..if an AL10 pot of 30 min duration at Composing level 2 garners me 10xp for a $5000 gold cost per rendition) Using base figures and assuming I'm very good at timing in a 24 hour period (assuming 22 renderings) I can get 220 xp at a cost of $110,000 gold. What the heck is your 140xp at 250,000 gold, is it addition to the baseline I just established or are you using a different baseline for your calculations.  Without explaination of your variables your chart to me has no relevance as you establish no baseline for your calculations...enlighten me please at to why I missed the boat on this.

He means that if you use the instant finish option in the most optimal way that you will get an X amount of XP for an Y amount of gold from that.

It has nothing to do with making potions that you will wait for to complete.

An example of (an attempt at) optimal instant finish strategies:

Let's take 4 different situations:

  • Situation 1: you only instant finish potions of skill level 54 and duration 54.
  • Situation 2: you only instant finish potions of skill level 215 and duration 215.
  • Situation 3: you first instant finish potions of skill level 54 and duration 54 and then instant finish potions of skill level 215 and duration 215.
  • Situation 4: you first instant finish potions of skill level 215 and duration 215 and then instant finish potions of skill level 54 and duration 54.

Suppose you have 1 million gold to spend.

A potion of 54 / 54 earns you 20 XP and takes 5,000 gold to make. This is also the cost to make the first instant finish.

A potion of 215 / 215 earns you 50 XP and takes 46,225 gold to make. This is also the cost to make the first instant finish.

Situation 1:

The first instant finish costs 5,000 gold.

The second instant finish costs 10,000 gold.

The third instant finish costs 20,000 gold.

The fourth instant finish costs 40,000 gold.

The fifth instant finish costs 80,000 gold.

The sixth instant finish costs 160,000 gold.

The seventh instant finish costs 320,000 gold.

The eighth instant finish costs 640,000 gold.

With 1 million gold you can instant finish 7 potions which costs you 635,000 gold and gets you 140 XP.

Situation 2:

The first instant finish costs 46,225 gold.

The second instant finish costs 92,450 gold.

The third instant finish costs 184,900 gold.

The fourth instant finish costs 369,800 gold.
The fourth instant finish costs 739,600 gold.

With 1 million gold you can instant finish 4 potions which costs you 693,375 gold and gets you 200 XP.

Situation 3:

The first instant finish costs 5,000 gold.

The second instant finish costs 10,000 gold. After this we switch to the 215 / 215 potion.

The third instant finish costs 184,900 gold.

The fourth instant finish costs 369,800 gold.
The fourth instant finish costs 739,600 gold.

With 1 million gold you can instant finish 4 potions which costs you 569,700 gold and gets you 120 XP.

Situation 4:

The first instant finish costs 46,225 gold.

The second instant finish costs 92,450 gold.

The third instant finish costs 184,900 gold.
The fourth instant finish costs 369,800 gold. After this we switch to the 54 / 54 potion.

The fifth instant finish costs 80,000 gold.

The sixth instant finish costs 160,000 gold.

The seventh instant finish costs 320,000 gold.

With 1 million gold you can instant finish 6 potions which costs you 933,375 gold and gets you 240 XP.

Summary:

  • Situation 1: 7 potions; 635,000 gold; 140 XP.
  • Situation 2: 4 potions; 693,375 gold; 200 XP.
  • Situation 3: 4 potions; 569,700 gold; 120 XP.
  • Situation 4: 6 potions; 933,375 gold; 240 XP.

The 4th situation earns us the most XP. And considering we were looking to spend 1 million gold to get as much XP as possible it is the winner here.

Between situation 1 and 2 I would definitely go for 2; it is only slightly more expensive and earns us a lot more XP.

As we can see situation 3 (although slightly the cheapest) earns us the least XP, and is probably not preferred.: situation 2 earns us much more XP. You could even go for situation 2 and not make the last potion. This will be cheaper and give you more XP than situation 3 would.

aa0007 came up with a list that shows us that 250 XP can be reached with 1 million gold.

I have only used 2 potions here to keep it simple. And I came pretty close (240 XP).

There is a wide arsenal of potion skill levels and durations that are available and there are no doubt better combinations of potions that will get you to 250 XP for 1 million gold (or less). :)

General rules of thumb iIf you want to spend a certain amount of gold and want the most XP out of instant finish:

  • Do not stick with 1 potion all the time.
  • Big potions first; smaller potions last.

;)

#811179 Composing Formulas

I have created a small excel file (easier then programming a web version for now :P) which include the above mentioned formulas.  This will also include Fragment cost.

#811102 Composing!

Posted by mikkyld on 10 September 2013 - 17:17

Carrying on with the 30XP gain at skill level 108 and duration 108:

1 skill 108 = 24 common and 12 rare

2 equal skill 54 = 24 common and 8 rare

3 equal skills 36 = 24 common

Strangely the number of fragments goes down though the same total skill and duration is used.

Then it gets weirder:

4 equal skills of 27 = 32 common and

3 non equal skills - I used 1 @ 100 and 2 @ 4 - with 108 duration actually costs more than a single skill, coming in at 28 common and 12 rare

Not sure what in the various formulae explains this but...

#808369 Global Chat - Knowledge, suggest improvements and ask questions.

Posted by EliteHunta on 25 August 2013 - 10:21

Hi there,

I am spreading all my knowledge that i know (So Far):

How do I access this chat?

There are 2 Options.

  • You can access chat via world map. This is however small.
  • You Can access chat via Actions>Chat. Or via this link - Chat.

The Global Chat rules :

You May NOT

  • Promote any other game.
  • Post any negative comments regarding the point costs or any other game related charges.
  • Post any comments or quotations of a political or religious nature.
  • Post any comments of a sexual, discriminatory or abusive nature.
  • Post any foul or vulgar language.
  • Attempt to sell your guild.
  • Beg other players for Fallen Sword Points, items or anything else.
  • Offer 'Free Reputation Points' or suggest in any way that your guild will allow a victory in Guild Conflicts.
  • Post links to any website.
  • Spam the Global Chat with messages to check your Bio, view your Auction House listings and sell buffs.

If you see any of these rules broken via Global Chat,

Please Report the message with the [R] button assigned to each message.

The message will be Reported and a Game Admin will deal with the issue.

If a Chat Moderator is online they will do as stated Below.

How can i turn chat off in my map?

Simple.

Character>Preferences>User Interface>General> Then Tick Hide World Chat.

If for some reason you cannot find your settings- Here is a link - Settings.

Ticking this box will remove it From the Map. But not from the Chat In actions.

How can i turn off word censor?

This is also located in your settings.

Character>Preferences>User Interface> And tick the Disable Word Censor.

If for some reason you cannot find your settings- Here is a link - Settings.

Ticking this Preference will allow you to see any Words that should be censored.

What are those boxes below my chat bar?

The boxes on the left link the colors to the players that talk.

As it says -

  • Red - Game Admin
  • Blue - Chat Moderator
  • Purple - Guild Member
  • Gold - You

The box on the right is a Chat flood-

These 5 boxes act as a spam filter.

The boxes light up every message that you send.

When the 5th box lights up, you will be unable to send a message for 6 seconds.

You can choose to let it die down to 0 or you can post again on the 4th box ( After 6 secs)

I keep seeing double posts.

This is simply a glitch in the system that will be sorted.

But if it is Bugging you, you can refresh your page.

This can be done by pushing F5 on your keyboard or by Pushing Ctrl and R.

This should refresh the chat and any Glitched double post will be removed.

What Happens if i get chat Banned?

If you get banned it would have been from what you had said.

In which case you will get a message like this -

Error: Due to a reported message, you are blocked from using the chat until 00:00:00 25/Aug/2013

If you do get this message you will be unable to post in the chat until the ban has been removed.

You will still be able to view chat but not talk.

What happens if i get banned - But did nothing wrong?

If this happens i would recommend you find out which moderator banned you, and why.

If you believe the Moderator is wrong you can contact customer support.

In such case support will usually respond within a few days, by then the ban would have worn off.

I recommend still putting in a ticket so the Game Admin's can speak to the Chat Moderators.

If a Chat moderator has a personal Vendetta against you, definitely put in a ticket with any proof you may have.

Once an un ban system is in place hopefully a Moderator would be able to sort the issue out swiftly.

You can contact support via link at the top right of the page.

Or you can click here - Hunted Cow Support

Chat Moderators ( So Far) :
Link to Profiles provided:

Ashgaerath

What were Moderator (s) chosen for?

Moderators were chosen by HCS staff. For their reasons which they can supply if they wish.
But do NOT have to.

Moderators were chosen to keep an eye on the chat ensuring that no rules are/ Were broken.

What can (Should) the moderators do?

  • The Moderators indefinitely should follow the game chat rules (Listed Below).
  • The Moderators should issue a warning before issuing a chat ban.
  • The Moderators can ban for 2 or 24 hours depending on severity of actions.

What The Moderators Aren't :

The Moderators are NOT involved in issues outside that chat.

They are not moderators outside of chat, so cannot deal with any game issues you may have.

Thanks to cyrus7-
To be very clear:
Player chat moderators have no admin rights within the game itself.
Player chat moderators do not have the ability to suspend/ban players from the game.
Player chat moderators can only "mute" players within the chat for 2 or 24 hours.
Mute simply means the player cannot post a message in the chat. It does not affect anything else in FS.
Player chat moderators can only "mute" players who have at least one line currently visible in the chat.

If you have an issue please contact the support team via the button on the top right.

Or via the link supplied - Hunted Cow Support

Special Characters such as £ are displaying like £ - HCS are aware of this issue.

Improvements (What you think they should improve)

  • Chat Should Include list of members currently in chat, Along with Moderators, and Game Admins sticking out.

Moderators can ban moderators. (But only if they break rules)

Moderators can still ban when banned.

#806671 New Player List On Right Hand Side - Similar to Guild Member and Ally List

Posted by Hoofmaster on 16 August 2013 - 16:08

Got something even better (I think!) that we've been working on. I think one thing the game is really missing is a way to chat easily to other players. We've been working on a chat section which will also work on the world map page (note you'll be able to turn this off in preferences too).

This will also have notifications when people log in and join the game etc. so I think it will help build the game community and also allow new players to ask questions and get help with the game much easier and quicker :)

#806542 Darksun Dragons II

Posted by Mister Doom on 16 August 2013 - 00:50

AM doesnt work on them, as a certain # spawn per map, and respawn immediately randomly (hence why smaller maps are better).

I doubt Reckoning works with Conserve, unless Conserve would have another roll to activate after Reckoning.

Same with LF

This is completely false information, I can100% guarantee that animal magentism works with the global event creatures, I've used it in every event I've participated in, to great effect.

#806371 Global Event or New SE ??

Posted by Mister Doom on 15 August 2013 - 08:34

No forum post about the upcomming event so ill post feedback here,,,

First theres actually a couple topics here one is new SEs,,,, yes please! In fact take up the old rotation idea and instead just add a new one for the levels that didnt get a rotated one.

Now on to the global stuff,,,,

Theres one part suggesting smaller events and smaller single buff rewards,,, I dont care for that idea and heres why

I dont like global events as they have been lately already and would hate smaller ones but without a chest with leveling or pvp buffs worth working for I doubt id even participate in the ones suggested as I can simply buy a LF750 with loyalty tokens and save my stam and have serious doubts they would ever release a RF 500 as a global anyway,, and to me still not worth the stam to make 3k kills.

As a matter of personal preference I dont really like global events, i dont care for beating on low level creatures (who seem to beat the hell out of my gear more than normal creatures do too) with nothing else to it but 1,2,3,4,0 etc. Depending on the reward because those went down in quality after the first ones (imo) I generally do my minimum kills and hang back to see if the global goal needs a bit of help on the last day to ensure the game reaches it. This may be because I am lazy or not a team player but to me its because killing a lvl25 over and over and over and over and over,,,, well you see my point on that.

Even if there was simple common drops added, maybe a recipe for some pot to go with it (blood ketchup and ice scream were awesome and that still sits at #1 on my top global events list!) Maybe even add some small side quest, some reason that im killing these guys with something to work for both personally and globally. Also id like to add one other thing here,,, the tiers and required kills are a bit out of reach for the nondonator with no extra stam gains. Perhaps if some things were added like I mention here you will encourage more of those players to participate, especially if there are smaller personal rewards they can reach.

Id like to reinforce what I said about those without stam upgrades by pointing out in the last minion event (not mosquito because that had pleanty of forewarning to save stam up) I leveled right before it was announced and so was tapped out, with +97 a hour I was hard pressed to get my min ruby requirements! A nondonator will look at the tiers and,,, rightly so,, see it as unreachable. Its been a while so forgive me if im way off but isnt it like +65-70 a hour the most someone can have without epics or upgrades other than ones their guild gives? Even at 75 a hour its,,

75 x 24 = 1800

1800 x 4 days = 7200 stam

This is assuming they log on 3 times a day to keep from overfilling and hunt 3 times a day for 4 days WITH a high light foot, conserve and doubler they then could make ruby tier,,,, chances are a new or nondonating player hasnt a great chance to achieve this and therefore most are going to skip it and feel left out too. Sure they can help out and get to a lower tier but most arent going to see it that way most are going to see that there was no way to make the top.

I would like to see some of the ideas put in the thread about what events we would like to see and mix it up a bit too,, it doesnt always have to be kill X creatures.

A event consisting of a pile of new SEs or even just all the current ones and a kill tally we need to make would be quite fun too.

Anything but kill that lvl 25 creature over and over again with nothing to break it up would be much appreciated :)

Wow Grendel, that's a pretty epic whine... All on the basis that everyone should be able to achieve Ruby? I'm not really sure why you feel that those that haven't upgraded their characters should be able to, people that have played this game for years / donated a lot of money deserve their advantages. They paid good money for them. (To HCS)

Besides there aren't ONLY ruby rewards for people to work for, there are plenty of other tiers with pretty good rewards in them.

You just come off as selfish and self serving to be honest, being 'champion' to the worries of the unupgraded and 'lazy' isn't much of a cause frankly. There does indeed seem to be a pattern to your postings, if they don't benefit you or don't seem to benefit you while benefitting someone else, you bash them. If they reward you greatly then they are okay. This doesn't do much for your reputation mate.

#792483 GvG and New Players.

Posted by wigz on 31 May 2013 - 15:57

I don't think a specific level should be attached to GvG. If there is PvP protection for "X" amount of days then as a new player why not allow GvG protection for the same amount of days during which time the guild can help them understand it and how to participate. The epic quest will allow the needed stam for them to level up and should easily be level 50 at the end of the protection period. If they choose not to level then they should be fair game.

#805250 In the grand scheme of things, minor, but ...

Posted by Pardoux on 08 August 2013 - 22:06

I was gonna point out that they would take time away from new content to do the update but then saw Grims post XD

And while I find it very useful if I get stuck or most times distracted from something its a little too much like a way for some to mindlessly complete content.

*chuckles* - says the person who doesn't level ;)

#805232 In the grand scheme of things, minor, but ...

Posted by Sinho6 on 08 August 2013 - 20:19

Mister Doom, if you enjoy the pleasure of your so-called "EoC style", well, the addition of information to the UFSG won't stop you. By all means, simply pretend that the UFSG does not exist and continue on merrily.

However, not everyone agrees with you. While I am not at EoC, I personally enjoy the wealth of information available to me. Not everyone has to play like you do, so please cut out your elitist attitude. (What's with this "old EoC" vs. "new EoC" anyway?)

If other players use the UFSG extensively and continue their "boring, planned out" gameplay, how does that affect your playing experience in the slightest? Here, I'll answer that question for you: it doesn't. So please stop worrying about how others enjoy the game and focus on your own enjoyment.

#803818 Ideas and Suggestions for Changes you would like to see in the Game.

Posted by duktayp on 01 August 2013 - 23:31

...I cant understand how i player cant go past the first 100 lvl without a problem...

some/many new players are not hooked in the first few weeks of game play - casual players or "tourists"

even if they join a guild (creating a guild is free now...many noob guilds out there, destined to fail) they may log on, hunt a hundred stam, and log off - not yet intensely enthusiastic about the game as are many of us

constantly hammering on someone during this "undecided" phase is a poor way of welcoming a potential regular player...or donator

#802926 FSH key components

Posted by BraveKath on 29 July 2013 - 06:55

As to the "laziness" comments -- each week I hear someone else quitting the game and I'm continually seeing fewer and fewer players.  I thoroughly use FSH and without it - game is going to become a pain and I would see it greasing my own wheels and many others to exit.

I checked a lot of the features.  We use the Advisor records and those FSH features to weed out inactive (including logger on/offs) members.  The AH-BP link is awesome and saves so much time and then you don't switch one page to another just to find that you didn't get the name of some potion or gear right and you have to look back again.  Getting stats on creatures would be a pain without the FSH feature.

This is not the time to make the game harder.
