its friday grim as been mention caves could do with some loving maybe if your so inclined flasks and watch your back brews isnt that many of them in the game

 

May not be many "watch your back" brews in game, but there's still a bucketload of "flask of death" brews (almost 5K of 'em).

 

Something in there would be nice tho - something NEW would be even better ..

Well you could have asked in my unfinished GvG guide, I wanted to put up the pricing list anyway, my up to date market analysis is as follows.

 

Current payment pricings when winning as of 28/11/2016:

Highest known payment current date: 7 FSP per win per 25 hits

Average payment current date: 3-4 FSP per win per 25 hits

Down low current date (or as I like to call them GvGer exploitationeers): 1-2 FSP per GvG per 25 hits

Why not have a beta to iron out all the kinks before introducing it as a global. That way it can be done right this time around. I'm not trying to put it down.. I appreciate the time that was put into it, and overall it was a great idea.. But it just had too many flaws.. If a beta was used in the first place, i think it could been a successful addition to the game. 

 

I enjoyed it for the most part but to do so i had to sink nearly 1k fsp in stamina and epic chests just to compete with the players 2000 levels above me. 

 

So, think it over.. Release it on a beta server.. And let us help you make seasons global work for everyone :)

 

We could probably run a beta of it within the real game - we'd just need to ensure that it didn't use stamina / damage items / give rewards during the beta. I think that would allow more people to try it out as well and we could figure out what works / doesn't and get good feedback on it?

At EOC, I actually think that the range could do with a SLIGHT expansion - maybe from +/- 10 to +/- 15 or +/- 20

 

On DQ's, I sometimes struggle to find targets that will "accept" the hit or return the hit rather than mete out "justice" for the hit ...

 

I really don't follow this, Pardoux. There is already a build up of players at EOC, which means that EOC is precisely where you are already finding lots of people clumped within PVP range of each other. Surely EOC is where there is least need to increase those ranges.

 

Unless you are suggesting that most of these people at EOC hit back too hard and so you are really asking for more baby lambs to be made available for your DQs?

I'll have a think over the details, but the focus should be on what would encourage the most players to want to take part in it.

 

I think it would have to be a really well-thought out explanation of how the thing will work, what will be involved and, unfortunately, what "prizes" will be involved.

 

I fear most of the game population will see "PvP" and simply opt out unless they can be convinced a priori to take the risk.

 

I do like to see you thinking though Hoof. Kudos to that!

I do like the idea of the PvP Global Event but I agree with Leos in that it would absolutely have to have an opt-in or it just wouldn't work well. I think for this we would just need to announce the event in good time (say a weeks notice?) to give everyone the opportunity to opt-in who wanted to take part.

Hoof + Grim = The creators of this game - have said this is a "PvP based player game" 

 

It's also an mmo as well yes of course. If I could I'd strongly advise Hoof that he should have enabled a warning that upon logging in or creating a character - all players are subject to PvP. There is nothing wrong with it again - just as there is nothing wrong with other aspects leveling and what not. 

 

We all want more as i've said - I'd like to see us get more. 

 

By any reasonable definition, it plainly is NOT a PvP based game. How do I know? Because you can be terrible at it, and succeed at anything else you want to do. It is not, in any way, essential to progress in any other aspect. That said, as it stands now, with the abundance of free leveling pots given out at events, PvP is a minor hindrance to those not inclined to participate, unless you go out of your way trolling people to hit you.

 

But PvP is hilariously unbalanced in favor of the attacker, unless you go to extraordinary lengths to defend yourself, and it gets more unbalanced every time a new relevant buff is created or an old relevant buff has a higher available level. If you want people to care more about PvP who don't already, you need to make it more balanced.

 

You need new buffs usable for PvP defense.  They need to be cheap, effective, long-lasting, and only effective while on the defender. For example, a Nightmare Visage-like buff that doesn't subtract attack to be effective.

Remember upon logging in... this is what? "A PvP BASED GAME so you are signing up to be possibly attacked as someone might be equally attacked by you one day. 

 

Really sorry if I am ruining your original post. I really tried to help. But there is nothing to do if the "two sides" cannot enter a common ground. So this is my last reply to this topic.

 

I really disagree with you. When I entered this game was because of the plot. The start page says "Fallen Sword. Browser based RPG. Explore the world of Erildath in this 2D RPG" and "Fallen Sword is a MMPORG set in this exciting and evolving world of Erildath. Players enter the world and explore, adventure across a vast number of realms with thousands (???) of other players", then "you encounter FELLOW players who you CAN engage in battle against". Well, this is the only place saying something about PvP. One of the aspects of the game, not the evident one, nor the most important.

 

You say the numbers show this is a PvP game, but you or anyone else proved with numbers. Is just an opinion based on something I cannot say if it is true or not. Besides, all your suggestions are your point of view. If I BB, I am supporting PvP. I would never ask someone to revenge me. I created a guild to make my own way into the game. I don't want easy buffs, easy gears, easy whatever. I interact with the players while playing, when I want to socialize I go outdoors; much more fun. But I don't question who does differently. And I don't try to impose my point of view or preferences. The way you play is correct, for you. But this does not mean it is correct for everyone.

 

I just don't understand why is not funny to PvP only those who like PvP? Why this is not enough? (This is a rhethoric question)

 

That being said, I really hope you can improve PvP in the game, just ask you to think about the non-PvPers.

Chazz, repeating this mantra really doesn't push your case forward.

 

Sure PVP is part of the game. But that doesn't mean its a big part of the game. That doesn't imply anything about whether it is dominated by, or should dominate over other aspects of the game. That doesn't mean it has to be a universal part of the game.

 

And most importantly for discussions like this, this is a mantra about the way the game *is*, and that is something that you are trying to change. That statement says absolutely nothing about needing to change, nor about whether such change should make PVP a bigger---or, indeed, a smaller---part of the game.

 

MSCruz was trying to find a way to free up PVP for those that enjoy it, without invoking the opposition of those who don't. PVP changes might get a lot further if they showed a similarly broad consideration for desires within the FS community.

I was thinking the idea of adding daily quest to smash on bounty targets would of appealed to a wide variety of people, but this part of the proposed gets buried in the level expansion discussion.

I tested the system. Same as many non-pvp players did. I hated the bb being included from the start. I never made it a secret. I was there too. Are you seriously blaming people for playing Seasons when it was introduced? What else were we suppose to do? That doesn't even make sense.  0.o

 

 

Lots of people have asked for the level ranges to be opened up some. As the active player base shrinks, so does the viable number of targets for a single player, especially as they go up in levels. It would make sense, but it would be admitting that we're on the downward slope of this game which I don't see the cows ready to do yet.

Grim has said he would talk to Hoof about getting bounties involved in the daily quests. Hope that happens soon!

 

You used the flawed first incarnation of the system to bring it down, not to help in any way. There is a difference Calista.

 

As for extending the level ranges. Every time pvp players ask for something it is to the detriment of all other non-pvp players. Hence it flops wildly, then HCS either have to scrap it or nerf it, which annoys pvp players.

You would think after all this time the people making these suggestions would be able to see that these kinds of changes simply don't work.

More then the pvp players didn't like Seasons, Doom. The cows flat ignored us until the larger player base hated it as well. We told 'em how it would go.  It went the way we thought. Not our fault we know how pvp works in the game. Would be nice if the cows did as well.

 

I was around watching what was happening back then.

I'm well aware that some pvp'ers were doing their level best to foster that dislike of the new system.

Some players went around around smacking everything in sight non-stop. Then came onto the forums to 'sympathise' and explain that they were only demonstrating what the new system was...

 

It was actions like these that sealed that systems fate. Especially unfortunate since the ability to do those things was quickly removed. However, the 'bad taste' had already been put into peoples mouths.
