#969260 Frustration

Posted by BadPenny on 22 September 2016 - 00:06

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree... I don't know the history of Xinderoth when it was new but I guess it was horrible because I really disliked it when I went through the "erased" version :). Since I don't know the original version, I'm not sure how close my suggestion is but were the Xindy mobs mega hard? When I did it, I just remembered the mobs being far and few in between with a ridiculous quest arc and that wasn't what I was asking for although I guess that would be cool too even though I absolutely hated Xindy.

BG works hard and creates new content... we fly through it in minutes with some folks not even looking at the critters (I always do and I have noticed repeating art but it's all good). It's unsustainable. Let's try a few God levels and see what happens. If there is an outcry, adjust... EOC'rs always had it harder than everyone else so why not? What would be your long sighted suggestion on this?

I'm unsure why xindy was unpopular. AzUK was the first through it, as he was the only 400+ at the time. I believe the biggest hurdle was all the walking between beginning and end, and more often than not, people would either underlevel on 399 beasties or xp gain through it. I actually enjoyed the questline, but I'm borderline insane anyways, and I had xp gained through it whilst on an extended retirement period and so was +500 at the time. I've been told karthak will drive me crazy, but looking at the quest details I believe that the costs for all that inventing will be the major deterrent for me. I don't see that as a challenge, merely a nuisance. I will follow my Finnish friend's advice, underlevel through, and go back someday when I have gold and time to burn....

I will likely never reach the end of the rainbow here. I commend those that have, and I hope that somehow hoof and the gang find a way to give you guys some meat to continue your journey. imho, the major malfunction is that you CAN breeze through the new stuff as it's added, which of course leaves you hanging with nothing better to do than a tiny DQ that disappoints you as well....

Personally, I think "God Levels" may be just the thing to spark new life into the game for those that have gone before..... Not sure how it would work, but BG is a smart cookie, he'll figure it out somehow, won't he?

Potion bashing, not composing bashing Grim.

In this instance, same difference. Please stop.

I agree with Chewy (which is unusual, of late LOL)

Maybe new LE's could use the rubbish chest crystalline pieces to invent - and thus actually give them some shelf life and value ??

It's very disheartening to see brand new sets reduced to 1fsp / piece for PERFECT within hours of their launch (I'm sure it is for you too BG ?) ...

I had a similar thought back in August, so looked through the news archive. Here's some data to feed into the discussion: number of levels released in ( ) if it differs from 25; 6 month totals in [ ]

[edit: hope the Americans can cope with the reversal of day/month]

2016: [      ] none yet
          [275] 7/1, 19/1, 5/2, 26/2, 29/4, 30/6 (150)
2015: [225] 4/9, 17/9, 19/10, 6/11, 3/12, 19/12 (100)
          [200] 6/1, 22/1, 27/3, 15/5, 26/6 (100)
2014: [275] 8/7, 28/7, 18/8, 4/9, 20/9, 10/10, 31/10, 14/11, 1/12, 20/12 (50)
          [200] 10/2, 7/3, 3/4, 17/4 (50), 9/5, 30/5, 13/6
2013: [200] 18/7, 25/9, 17/10, 12/11, 26/11, 4/12, 11/12, 23/12
          [125] 24/1, 20/2, 26/3, 14/6, 28/6

Conclusions?

  • Summer is typically slow for content release (2014 was the exception)
  • If the extra 50 levels had been kept back for July, this year would have been pretty typical for content release
  • assuming 100 levels in mid December, we aren't very far off 2016 matching the previous two years and exceeding 2013.

I realise that there are additional issues such as lack of quest content,  but also release of new LEs and occassional innovations (some of which we kill off and some of which we support), so this is not the whole story.

#969015 PVP Seasons as a Global

Posted by Leos3000 on 17 September 2016 - 01:28

 I believing what you saying

I betting you using composing against eoc buffed players to winning, did you skip or losing to leos3000?

I asking this because leos3000 is eoc and knowing pvp and very important using crazy high composing having very high stats, higher than yours

I believing this too

because I doing bounties from eoc players too and I not losing 1 battle against them, they were 2x my level and full buffs but I easy beat them with crazy high composing, my stats was higher than them :)

grats artzik for high ranking smile.png

I know you and your friends hate composing for some reason...but just an FYI before you go assuming how I play... I did not use composing pots to win Seasons. I may have had 1 or 2 composing buffs, but they were not the reason I won.

Few Warriors who have survived combat suspect the noble human side of the creature's character is struggling to reassert itself again...

#968961 PVP Seasons as a Global

Posted by Mister Doom on 16 September 2016 - 10:47

*Highly rude personal attack*

You seem to have a selective memory with regards to the blood thread...

People's posts were getting removed because they were inflammatory, flame baiting or just plain rude. There were lots of posts that remained that disagreed with the proposal.

It just so happens, apparently, that some people cannot behave in a civil manner when they discuss pvp, instead believing that bullying tactics are fine to be used in the forum as well as the game.

#968933 PVP Seasons as a Global

Posted by Gutie on 15 September 2016 - 22:48

Kind of uncalled for to call my old concept a 'disgrace'. I put an immense amount of thought into that concept.

It was also based around the idea that xp loss was going to be scrapped. (to be clear, the idea to scrap xp loss came before the 'Blood' concept was formed)

It's ridiculous this forum, it truly is. Leos is putting forward an idea for an implementation of a pvp global, to fit in with the rotation of the other global events. Some people though...  "We must have consequences!" (would kill the event) "We must have no opt-out!" (would kill the event) "I must have your first born child and all your base are belong to us!" (lol)

You must realise that an idea such as this would be the only viable way to 'do' a pvp global.

The simple fact of the matter is, there is a LOT more people that do not like pvp (the current attacker=win system that FS has anyway) than there is that do.

That's because some people HAVE to have control over punishing players they don't like. The ENTIRE rationale these people have for keeping the status quo is so they can pile on and punitively punish people they either don't like or simply because they get some sick enjoyment out of wailing on offline players who have no recourse to fight back aside from hitting back, which in turn, again, after offline and the buffs run out, will again get piled on by the same people who have the ability to be on 24 hours a day. THAT is why they hated seasons Because it took the control out of their hands, and didn't let them selectively bounty people. System posted bounties would do wonders for the game and PvP. I've said it before, and will say again, Seasons based PvP is something a lot of people who don't PvP would participate in based on that very reason.

#968931 Zorgrom vs Shroud IV

Posted by Egami on 15 September 2016 - 22:26

I for one was patiently waiting for the announcement myself. I just figured it was close to the end of business hours for you guys, and maybe you wanted to pop out for a brew. LOL

I appreciate everything that's been done. It's been almost 10 years. I Don't expect you to work overtime, to inform me about stuff. :P

Awesome events, all Three!

Yeah, me either and HCS does do it on occasion, but this baby?

The Global Event shall be live until 12:00 (Server Time) on the 14th of September 2016.

Well within HCS business hours. No excuse.

For the umpteenth time... don't do it if it isn't worth it to you.

I have to applaud the level achieved because my assumption is that people actually thought about whether it was worth it to them or not.

What is definitely clear is that there was no community effort involved. By that, I'm not referring AT ALL to the level achieved.

Zero Guild Chat messages urging the FS Community to participate or offering buffs to help. Zero changes to Buff Market prices with that end in mind. Zero more costly urgings via FSBox or Shout Box.

In a nutshell, I hear a lot of players saying this "failed" because "we didn't reach ruby".

First, I full-on disagree that it failed. Second, if you really want to insist... that's on the FS community and yourself.

For info purposes, I got top 100 and gained my silver medal and am more than happy. Of course, that wasn't really based on FS Community effort. Ho-hum. And yet I cheer (o0

Congrats out to the FS Community for getting what they worked for. Prosperous smacking everybody! (o0

I think he refers to the "enchant" potions.

Those only buff max stamina on items, never stam 'gain'.
