on the topic of GvG "Farming" (excuse me if this was said already as I only skimmed over the posts) but one of the simplest solutions seems to not award points in an entirely one-sided fight.

 

Attacking a guild that you know will not hit back doesn't sound very GvG to me and only makes GvG scores even more meaningless.  By not rewarding guilds for these kind of fights, it would GREATLY cut down on farming.

 

Granted there would probably be some agreements made between guilds where the farming guild pays the target guild to return one hit but no solution is without it's flaws and these kind of arrangements are sure to be few in comparison.

How about leave awards as is but you get bonus 2x or 3x RP if the defending guild attempts to fight back? This way it's more efficient to battle against fighters vs fleers... just sayin...

Snap a zero off the end of each frag type in those chests and it would have been just right.

That's a great idea. See how the response would be with a significantly smaller stash. A mini-mini global event. Take the 0 off and you could do this event almost monthly.

As with Kalish, I was a auction house stalker looking to buy all types of frags. Now I just look for commons.

As with Belaric's short summary,( it's a good read) he brings out the fact again that we keep creating new problems for ourselves. Sorry Belaric- although your watered down medal is a problem, I think our easy button, give it to me now is an even bigger problem.

Mark my words, after the composing xp enhancement occurs and we have a bunch of players at level 50, the next cries will be what about composing lvl 100? Then soon after that, it's too slow! We need a 32x xp composing event :(

leveling and composing are two seperate animals good sir. and if the cows expect to see composing really put to use by the AVERAGE players of FS then they may want to look at the leveling formula. I'm not saying make it so we can reach lvl 50 overnight. But by your logic it should take over 2 YEARS to make it level 50 composing? I bet 90% of players quit the game before they make that....thats doing 8-10 potions a day EVERY day for 2+ yrs.....almost 3 yrs.....yup your logic makes comlete sense my good sir

Overnight, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, what is the magic number? So if we were to make everything achievable to the "Average" player that doesn't want to put the time in, there are so many ways we can improve things and not just composing. I will argue that players as you predict quitting within 2 years will never achieve lvl 1600 buffs so the 16x xp event is still a good idea (following your logic). How many average players have secured a titan? We need 20 simultaneous titan spawns every 3 hours so everyone has a chance at their very own secure. We should award all Arena participants with epic rewards since your "average" player may never win arena. Change you want, change we should have to make life easier for the "average" player... don't just leave it to composing but all aspects of the game.

i like the idea of change....i crunched some #'s and mind you i am NO math expert....but to reach even level 20 for an average player...

 

its roughly 4500 potions@ 20 xp a potion...(i said roughly)....now the average player is gonna make 8-10 potions a day(and thats a HIGH number).  thats WELL over a year to get even close to half of composing....with game numbers dwindling and active players low....most will NEVER make it near even that....

That's a good point... We should apply that logic to leveling so i demand a 16x xp event!

How long has composing been around and we already have a player confirmed at 27 and possibly as high as 30. How quickly do we really want everyone at composing eoc?

Awesome Event... Maybe Next Time Instead Of Having The Wraiths Drop Chests That Contain Only Common Frags I Think It Would Be Cool To See Other Kinds Of Frags In The Chest Drops From The Wraiths Like Unique, LE, SE And So On... I Mean Don't Get Me Wrong Its Awesome That The Wraiths Drop Anything At All + We Get A Nice Reward At The End Of The Event... But Common Frags Are The Easiest To Come By... I Know They Are By Far The Most Used Frags But I Think Seeing Some Small Amounts Of The Other Frag Types In The Wraith Chests Would Be Cool!!!

If these medal designs had been put up for discussion in the forum by the developers, many of their flaws would not have made it to the game. I firmly believe this. Exploits and manipulations would have been shown to the devs by the players, and the medals improved so that what they are matches more closely with how they are gained. It would not be perfect, but I believe better than what we got. Unless I missed the discussion that was had on these medals.

I totally vote for this. I love finding exploits :)

Even if they don't listen to our thoughts, at least we would have a chance to make our concerns known.

I thought the lesson we'd learned from this thread is that it doesn't matter HOW the new medals are earned - it is just good to have them, and if people game the intended spirit of the medal that is just spiffy because it still means game activity occurs.

 

Why worry now about whether or not a medal is well designed?

Just sayin'... I personally could care less about medals. I just like to point out exploits and this is the easiest one of them all... no stam used... no gold used. Also... imagine the coding nightmare... How does HCS calculate the profits? by each individual item? If not, I buy anything and never sell it, I will be at a net negative. If I sell a secured  titan epic, do I get full credit for the sale since I never bought it (100% profit)?

 

Like pvp and other ideas for game elements that I don't partake in, I like to throw my 2 cents in. I hope your not advocating that I sit quiet and not join the discussion or that would make me sad.  :(

Wow. I'd be able to get diamond in less then 10 minutes. Sell mystic pick axe for 1k fsp. Have friend sell back to me for 1 gold and I send him 1k fsp. Rinse, repeat.

Make it a traveling mad alchemist so it's limited time. Watch the fsp marketplace dip to new lows during the alchemist visits. This way, if it's a horrible idea, the alchemist will never return ;)

Even if there were tiers added, the players that donated the most regardless of their level in their tier would get to the top 10. Same problem that you say we have now.

Although I have not donated a penny, what's wrong with donators having an advantage? They are the reason free loaders like myself are having fun. Regardless, tiering won't help new players but please stop with bashing donors.

that is because lower level players have given up on arena, many after losing 100 times for maybe 1 win...arena needs a major overhaul to help get the lower level players involved...and many more higher level players still playing the game compared to lower levels- gvg farming of noobies is the main reason for that..nobody sticks it out anymore..

I disagree. Even mid level folks like myself have given up :). No ROI.

Just so everyone knows ALL the facts and so that you may LEARN a little something about how some players react. You where deleveled one out of two possible bounties that you cleared BECAUSE you decided to clear the bounties that were about to expire, and by that I mean less then an hour left. This action was perceived as cheap, and proven so by your cowardice coming here to cry about it. You did nobody any favors, and had malicious intent to take the bountys with so little time remaining. SO, as you now know you can take ANY bounty at ANY time that it's on the BB with anywhere between 10 to 100 stam hits. You can also lose 5 levels for EACH bounty taken. Consider yourself lucky you didn't lose 10! NOTHING is wrong with the bounty board. You got what you deserved.

So clearing bounties that are about to expire is a no-no? Wow. I learn something new everyday. Is it in the rules or is this an unwritten rule? Can some one make a wiki of all the unwritten rules so I don't walk into a hornets nest?

Not saying that your effort was for nothing but just add a guild composer. Working similar to players but slightly different. Why not have both? Having a taxable guild composer would benefit the guild plus the ability to make higher level potions for the guild members as multiple members at a wide range of levels would deposit fragments so there would always be plenty. Besides the average guild has few high level composers. If players want a tax free version and want to do it on their own then go to the normal composing page.

And to players saying this would be a loss of profit for players selling higher level potions then why not take of the bound part of composing and allow player to sell them to everyone? Keep the ones created by the guild bound to the guild.

Definitely should not be unbound. This is a great example of give an inch, take a mile. Part of the reason for the implementation was to give value to the junk we find and boy did that ever work well. Now we want more automation and ability to sell? Again, nothing really broken. Let start with the broken stuff. Stay focused. Prioritize ideas that will grow the game.
