Ok, I read Doom's idea and I respectfullt disagree =P
Now that we're trying to improve the Arena activity MAYBE it's a good idea to increase ONE MORE bracket.
Novice
Players with less than 100 Arena Wins.
Players with more than 100 Arena Wins.
And that's all, nothing more, really.
Novice: To get the moves.
Standard: To learn how the Arena works (moves, setup, luck factor, etc)
Pro: To learn how to really play Arena facing people who already know how to play.
Seriously guys, just watch all loses you have, and try to figure out why you lose, examples:
- Oponent Ice Shard activate.
- His move have effect against mine.
- Can't find a way through oponnent defense.
- Got a Counter Attack.
And things like that, and it's no shame to go back on 'finished arenas' and watch the move setups from the pros, you'll be able to develop your own move setup.
Usually you'll face two kinds of setups:
DEF+dam
ARM+att+hp
If you fight a Def setup against a Def setup that's "all about luck", and there is where moves like Weaken and such have an effect, it's not a big deal to learn.

The hole point of the arena is the incentives otherwise you would just PVP. What is the point of doing it if you can't get the moves to win or spend hundreds of FSP on gear and then still lose. It is dumb and not fair to those trying to come into the arena. No point to spend gold and FSP on gear just to get your face kicked in every time by the "masters" There has to be different brackets and the incentives, points, gear, potions should all reflect that.
Ok, wait...
- About the moves: They're extremely easy to get on novice Arena, really, you can get all then in 1-2 days.
- About the 'thousands of FSP in gear': Usually everyone who play Arena has a lot have a lot of gear for that, just like who make PvP have PvP gear, and who just hunt have a lot of potions. Arena is a part of the game as any other.
What you're refering of is the knowledge that 'Arena Masters' have and you don't have yet, about the moves, gear to join, etc. And the ONLY way to learn that is, guess what, playing the Arena, and losing A LOT, and learning from that.

I already thought 40 tokens for the pots were ridiculous even for the higher level ones. I was going to do the arena for tokens for new pots but seeing that I cannot compete with the so called arena masters then why would I waste my gold. This is getting lame. I had some hope of getting these new potions for the hunt. Another part of the game that they have decided to ruin for me since I was excited to get these potions.
You can compete with anyone if you spend like what they spent and if you are worried about profits you will never get any better.
Everyone starting arena spend much more than what get... you have 7 wins and say you can't compete? you didn't even win enough moves to win...

the 1 thing i dont like about the arena is you have no clue about what is going on in the matches - how are players supposed to learn anything when you cant truly see what is beating you - what i think should be done is basically remove the cloak effect on the players gear - the arena takes a snapshot of gears worn - i feel it would help players if they could see what others are wearing during the matches - now the arena champs arent gonna like this cuz they will lose their secret tricks for winning
I'm DEFINITELY NOT an arena champ, but I'm against this idea. Part of the fun (at least for me) is guessing what gear combination is being used by the winners. If the system just reveals the gear combination used then this removes the challenge and somewhat undermines the effort these players have put in making them.
A solution proposed in earlier posts is a bracket system where players with approximately same skill level / number of wins are pit against each other. Another one is a comprehensive arena help/tutorial that can get new players started.

Hey dude I know guilds own all gears still can't compete with players with their own gears
I have started without any help from nothing to everything .. Just if the players waste more time in game more than forum they can get improved
Arena been very active from so long , just need some little tweaks now and glad hoof are working on it ![]()
Arena will always need new stuff from time to time to refresh the activity.

Same people winning are the ones who dedicated to arena ... why didn't they complain about the Arena masters when they were newbie? Don't tell me they just started winning a lot once they started playing arena...
Lots of newbie players now are doing great they aren't newbie anymore , only ones never improve are the ones who complain about it.
People these days just want easy game.

1st the tokens do need to be dynamic, but not too dynamic. How to do this is a system that recalibrate every 24 hrs. (Preferably at 0:00 server time)
2nd you need formulas.
I would suggest this: setting up a range for the system with a max value an item can cost in tokens and a minimum value. (5 min and 200 max should be good)
Next you need something to determine item values. I suggest this:
Items start each day at a certain token price and have an allowance of say 10 purchases for the day. To figure out the next days token price you do the following
Base price from current day + (# items bought -10)
Where it can only go up or down to the max and min values.
If this has merit and needs more explanation let me know as its hard posting from a phone..

Yes, I like this idea too.
It would work, only possible issue I could see is it would make the gear actually only used for arena's worthless.
only way it would be decent is if there was many hundreds of items to choose from, 10 or 15 combinations isnt really much fun and would grow stale,
wouldnt most guilds have the gear for the arena though bar yours obviously mr doom, apart from common/rare items with hp i dont think i use really anything fancy ... skull carvers is farmable, ogrekin is farmable to give a couple of examples, most LE sets go for under 10 fsp and how much advantage does something like glaring reptilian that sells for 100 fsp a set(now worth about 15 fsp) give really, cant one just use an armor setup to counter act this? or a hybrid maybe and trap both ![]()
the moves arent a problem either, you shouldnt enter moves enabled arenas without moves, enter non moves arenas till u get a win then buy every move or half of them ![]()
and finally, will we see you in the arena mr doom or this update like i suspect has done nothing for you?

hooray !! random matchups...
...hooray, better level distribution
, now just get the price in the store to reflect the true value of the prizes and we may have a winner
..i know this is stunning...i am happy for once on the forums, but finally we are turning the corner to having a better arena..keep levels as they are..arena is moving at a good pace...lets hope it stays that way after a few weeks when the market has been flooded..not sure how that will happen

I think if your going to have every level be randomly generated from 1-2500 there needs to be more tournaments available then 30..
60-100 would give more variety and hopefully allow more to participate throughout the day.
Personally I would much rather have some consistency to level spawn as every single level just makes it overwhelming for some.
Suggestion:
From 1-100 have tourneys spawn at 10 level increments (10,20,30,40,50...)
From 101-500 have tourneys spawn at 25 level increments (125,150,175,200,225...)
501-1000 Spawn every 50 levels (550,600,650,700...)
1001-2000 every 100 levels (1,100,1200,1300,1400..)
2001+ every 200 levels(2200,2400,2600...)
Gives variety but at the same time gives some sanity on what levels to expect to enter.
Fixed the 1000+ ranges

Hoof, Zorg, BG.
The only things Arena really needs:
- Come back with the old Arena.
- Tokens prizes would be: 1st-Prize+2 Tokens, 2nd-2 Tokens, 3rd-1 Token, 4th-1 Tokens.
- Add a Arena Token Shop, without moves, with REVISED PRICES, something like BM300-50 Tokens.
- Add Token Prizes, not many, just a few.
- Add new items to the Arena.
I believe that's what everyone was hoping for.
