#898529 An Open Letter to the Fallensword team

Hi DeadParrot,
I appreciate the feedback, however be assured that we plan to dedicate a lot of time to the improvement of Fallen Sword. I agree that we have been busy lately with the Eldevin release on Steam, but be assured that we intend fully to allocate more resources in the very near future to making improvements to Fallen Sword.
Radneto, Zorg and myself will be taking a much more active role in the game design and community in the coming months to help improve many aspects of the game going forward. I realise these are only words, but be assured that this is going to be a very high priority for us.
Cheers,
Andrew (Hoof)

An Open Letter to the Fallensword team,
The following statement is long over due and with the current state of the game, is appropriate and timely. ...you ask, who do I think I am? I am a long time player (very long) who wishes the larger community to understand what has truly gone wrong with Fallensword, not just the edited and deleted version that is put forth.
The current state of the game is in disrepair. EoC players are leaving, few new players are entering the fray, and those that do, leave with shocking velocity. The forums are an uninviting place, reserved for the elite (who are lauded for their views, others not so much), and the complacent; for those who dare not question the higher-uppers for fear of retribution or the all-too-frequent bans. Those who thank their lucky stars for ANYTHING to be done is this game have low standards and encourage the game designers to meet those low standards. Numbers in this game have declined in recent years, this is no coincidence as administration of this game passed from Hoof to others. Additionally, ideas such as composing, have come from players, not from administration, begging the question, who is watching this game from on-high? We all know that Fallensword boasts the most loyal and consistent player base in HCS-dom, so why has this game been neglected for the likes of iOS games and Eldevin? The questions may not be answered, and frankly, players are not owed an answer. However, developers have the option of respecting their player base...or losing it forever. Here are my observations in the last few years:
-
The Fallensword team has transferred administration from Hoof to mere moderators as the team sits now....coding and updates are not a priority, shown by empirical evidence.
-
The game and forum moderators are combative and engage in personal attacks, they lack professionalism, which is not required of the customer, but is an advisable trait of an employee.
-
Punitive measures have no consistency and extent is determined based on the party who complains.
-
There are frequent implementation and grammatical errors in events in recent years.
-
The game is constantly being watered down and convoluted based on the views of the few, who are now becoming the majority as active player numbers dwindle.
-
The real money to ingame currency is shockingly expensive is relation to the FSP to gold exchange rate from the early renditions of this game. There is very little value for the money.
-
Players, as mentioned, are leaving in droves, myself included. The results of this post is of no consequence to my game play or character. I am not seeking change or results.
-
The long range plans of the game are unclear, as evidenced by the constant slogging of leveling content, and re-hash of events; nothing truly changes. Each change seems patchwork.
-
Content and upgrade roadmaps are largely ignored or pushed off so far that deadlines have very little meaning, what message does this send to the remaining player base?
-
There are so many more issues, PvP, GvG, the vocal minority who continually steer the game, the pay-to-win gear system, Arena gear dominance, top guild titan dominance, scavenging (really??), the bounty board....and on and on. But the problems outlined above clearly indicate that the daily and periodic implementation of Fallen sword is faulty, broken, and clearly shows a lack of respect for the player base.
-
I care not to get into a game of semantics and minute detail. Those who concern themselves with this are clouding the real core issues. I also don't welcome responses, as these items are not up for debate. If you feel they are....again, you are clouding core issues.
Just because you disagree or are offended, doesn't mean you're right. You may not like the message or the messenger, but that doens't mean the message is flawed. So sad when a child doens't realize their obvious potential....
Good day, Fallen sword.
Signed

~ Info from the Guide ~Legendary creatures level 500 and below: 82Legendary creatures level 501-1600: 56Legendary creatures level 1601 and above: 6 (3 of these are Spine/Crystalline)Content goes to level 2250 now. The last Legendary in the guide is level 2120.There is an average of 16.4 Legendaries per 100 levels for levels below 500.There is an average of 5.09 Legendaries per 100 levels for levels 501-1600.There is an average of 0.92 Legendaries per 100 levels for levels above 1600.The last 130 levels have no Legendaries within them at all (included in the 1600+ numbers). There is a LOT of Legendary gear for players below level 500. All the creatures are re-released into the realms or caves at some time or another. Just because an individual thinks the gear is of no use to them, does not mean that someone else might not have a use for it. If you're tired of the gear that is available at your level, level up and you'll gain access to additional item sets.----------HCS, despite the fact that I don't have a personal need for any of the creatures released this weekend, thank you for giving us another event to enjoy!
Exactly. HCS has not and does not ignore lower level players at all.
And although I am like cyrus7 here, thank you HCS for this event! I am sure there are many players having loads of fun!

A guildie of mine would LOVE to see POUNAMU make an appearance again in the caves ![]()
I have no problem with that except there will be the inevitable groups who will complain about no new high level LEs.
I will look to new LEs, for sure but I've always tended towards whole new events rather than patching the higher levels while releasing older lower levels. But I'm happy to release the lower stuff if it's wanted.
Yup, sometimes you guys are caught between a rock and a hard place ![]()

#888805 PvP-Ladder Sollutions.
Posted by Pardoux
on 08 September 2014 - 21:16
Why is it that PvP'rs in the game are always trying to "force" other players to partake in it ?
Option 6 - if I'm reading it correctly that is - means that every active player is on the ladder (within their bands, of course) and therefore subject to being attacked as often as the ladder permits (whatever that interval is - hourly ??).
OK, those that don't want to participate can have PvP protection (which has been watered down now) - but that's not really the point as that doesn't protect everything.
If PvP was as popular as certain players want us to believe it is, then there'd be no need to continually try to change the game to make more players participate in it against their will ![]()
I don't know what the ideal solution to fixing the ladder is, but I seriously doubt that that option is the correct one.
IMO, the best solution should incorporate (amongst other possible options) ..
1. Existing bands (or maybe widened slightly at higher levels)
2. NEW reward system
3. NO rewards without activity (be that 1 attack / reset or "x" amounts of attacks / reset)
4. Players must OPT IN !
I'm sure there's a plethora of other options that would make it better and revitalise it ..

, u just made the wraith drops bound
They were supposed to be. We don't want people making Clones to harvest the drops and then send them to their prime account.
Global Target is only 2.5 million and is already 15% to the total, I suspect the global total will be done and dusted in a few hours =p
Quite possible, but I really wanted to gauge the interest and decided a low target might be best for that. This is providing me with a baseline idea for future Frag Stash Global Events.
#815517 Content Roadmap.

on 08 October 2013 - 16:31
We've come up with this Content Roadmap to try and keep the Community in the loop. We shall update this as and when we need to, to show if something is done or has needed to be moved around a bit.
NEW!
Hey Guys.
Okay, looking at what we have planned, I've shuffled what we'll be doing around a bit and have a few new ideas to share.
A new Global event added to this. Easter Baskets to be collected and evil Shadow Bunnies stealing them. Grab the eggs and duff up the Shadow Bunnies to save the chocolatey potion goodness at the end of the event. We may add one or two new LEs to the Forest event itself but we'll see. No promises.
Content. 2501 - 2525 : Estimated release = Week of the 19th of June.
Content. 2526 - 2550 : Estimated release = Week of the 3rd of July.
Content. 2551 - 2575 : Estimated release = Week of the 17th of July.
And I'll be looking to plug Storybook in here somewhere. Quite a lot of work still to be done to this. At present, 7 new Quests though I may have to add an 8th to keep us closer to EoC.
As well as this, the usual LEs in the Scavenging Caves, Classics in the Realms and somewhere after the new Skill releases, we intend on looking at a brand new Legendary Event with full new gear.
Finally, these dates could and likely will shift around a little as we work on other secret squirrel parts of Sword.
Hope that's helpful!
