One thing you should do with regards to pvp rating, is remove the transfer of it from the board, or at least limit it to only being transferred within a certain level range. In the older top 100 system it actually punished those who did alot of off the board pvp,only to lose all that rating to much higher leveled players clearing bountys, or while offline on the board.

 

In the old system, I witnessed first hand someone having a low level friend hit dozens of players, get bountied, then clear said *friend* for rating to claim #1 spot.Another reason it should be modified or completely removed from the board.

 

I'm all for an increase to a pvp range limit,rewards, and so on. I still stand firm that there shouldnt be a removal of counter bounties from the game. It will Kill any chance we have of reviving pvp in this game.

Bounties should not expire, at least not unless they have been up for a silly amount of time like 10 days+ the main thing that put me off bounty hunting was getting abuse from people after clearing them with 10 stams because they were counting on their bounty being left to expire. It seems a fairly pointless system if posted players can get on and off the board with no loss, especially when that seems to have become the most commonly expected outcome.

 

 

 

 

Normal PvP hits are unable to be bountied after 48 hours ( expire) The aceptance of a bounty is unable to be counter bountied after 48 hours.(expire)

 

Whats wrong with a placed bounty expiring?The only reason I see some ( not many) expire is that no one wants to sit down and put the effort into clearing them. It's not always *easy* clearing a bounty.

 

Many used to wait for a player to log off, unbuffed etc, to attempt a clear. Now with the current 48 hours expiring, most bounties *stay* buffed. It's challenging clearing a buffed opponent. Don't change that

 

@ HCS:
 
ANY hit, deflect, 10 - 100 stam, even a LOSS can be bountied and punished.
 
 

As for not allowing counter bounties on 10 stam bounties hits, well then fine, do it. Then watch as 40+ players all 10 stam a bounty to delevel it with NO risk of a counter bounty.

 

 

 

If you continue with the thought process of making pvp more one sided, to coddle players, you're going to find the game one sided as well. HCS, and no one else.

If you cant bounty ladder hits they shouldn't take xp either.

 

As for making hunters immune from bounties: HECK NO!!! Part of being a bounty hunter is dealing with counter bounties. That's part of the fun, and brings friends and community closer together.

 

If you want to fix the bounty board, make PvP a more desirable part of the game. Make this a pvp game again.

The plan to 'update' the BB is the worst idea I've ever read in the 6 years I've played this game! If it ain't broke, don't fix it... If players want to try the PvP mechanics of the game, go start a GvG.

Even the plan to ditch bountys on the ladder is terrible. Players that excersise this tactic end up being labeled 'dirty' players and get sorted in the end. Players that PvP can take care of themselves.

The recently added expiration of bounties is fantastic. It rewards a bountyed player for staying on the BB for 48 hrs, something that isn't easy. It adds a new dynamic. Leave it alone please.

Plenty of concessions have already been seen to how bountys are handled, multiple bounties for each hit for example. Bountying and dropping a player used to trigger another possible bounty if they continued trying to swing. This can't be done anymore. We are now limited to deleveling a player to 5 levels. It's been like this for a long time but still a concession.

Here are some constructive feedback regarding what could be done to help improve the pvp experience.

 

General PvP: 

1. PvP smasher ticks should be awarded for all 100 stam attacks. This includes bounty board, ladder hits, and most importantly direct pvp attacks.

 

2.  Deflect needs to be nerfed. The activation rate is insanely high causing the time required to complete a bounty or make viable ladder hits too long.  I suggest that when deflect activates, it allows the time to hit again to be reduced by 1/2.....meaning, if I get deflected in a direct pvp or ladder attack, I can hit again in 30 minutes rather than 1 hour.  If I get deflected on a bounty board or gvg hit, I can hit again in 1 minute rather than 2. This keeps deflect as an important buff but doesn't overpower to the point that it is now.  Also, I wouldn't mind having deflected hits not being bountyable also lol.

 

3.  Make pvp prestige able to be used in increments rather than all or nothing.  This will encourage everyone to pvp from time to time.

 

 

PvP Ladder improvements:

1. Make pvp ladder hits unbountyable. That way it stays a player vs player competition.

2. Make the pvp ladder token gear crystalline. Yes! Convert it all to crystalline so that it breaks and needs to be replaced. There by making pvp tokens useful and require them to be used often.

3.  Make some potions available to be made using PvP Ladder tokens. This way tokens will be useful and used often.

if you truly wish for bounty hunting to be a viable part of the game again, you need to help encourage PvP and placing a bounty ;)

Grimm, I fail to see how removing counterbounties is a good idea. Sure, it's OK when being 10-stam cleared, but what if I were to gather up a few of my friends and 100 stam a random bounty and take the full 5 levels just for kicks and giggles. What then would be their options for vindication other than a strongly worded letter? We would have just cost some 5 levels and all it would have cost me was a few 100 stam, which can be regained while I sleep, and a bounty ticket.

I agree with RebornJedi. If you want to revive the bounty board, change the Smasher Medal back to its original purpose in order to give people a reason to bounty other players again. When the Smasher Medal first came out, the board was FULL of people, but once you changed it to not count real PvP hits, the board died.

While I dislike ladder hits being bountyable and find most such instances cowardly, there are times it is good to have where a player is being a bully or picking fights with my guild, I'd like to be able to hit every opportunity I get to get that player to back off.

 

This is a PVP game is it not? Why all this policing and softening of this aspect of the game? It's been crippled enough, why all these half measures? Either get rid of PVP altogether or do something to improve it, stop with the this slow crippling of the best aspect of this game.

Bounty hunters not being bountyable in general is a terrible idea. All it'll do is bring the cowardly smashers out in force since now there is no fear of retribution.

If I'm targeted for a de-leveling party on the board, by doing this you've just taken away my one means of getting back at the de-levelers.

 

Not to mention you are demeaning the bounty hunting and smasher medals earned by players under the threat of counter bounties.

1. Stop titan scripting! This has been going on for years and its about time something is going to be done.

2. PvP ladder hits should NOT be bountyable! No brainer right? What happens on the ladder should stay on the ladder.

3. Bounties should expire! This was a much needed change which gives incentive for players to battle it out while on the bounty board. No need to change it back as very few bounties hit the expiration time anyway.

4. Bounty hunters should be able to be bountied! Of course, they're attacking players and should be able to be bountied for it. Its part of the risk. But we don't need more bounty hunters, we need more bounties!

I disagree with PvP ladder hits being non-bountyable, otherwise the ladder can be abused by a certain few to make hits with no repercussions.. This will lead to abuse.

 

Changing the bounty board in the manner you propose will also  lead to abuse,  there are many that do not understand the dynamic of the bounty board including the prescribed ettiquette used while taking bounties.. It will be a large mistake  to take bounties non bountyable.. Also making a bounty not expire is counter productive, if no one takes that bounty that is not the fault of the person posted.. And while on this subject and seeing the thread that these proposed changes stemmed from, I am in firm disagreement these changes. I have taken many bounties from this guild that is accused and never had a problem with any of them except for a few.. The BB has worked fine for many years and so has the PvP ladder.. This is a sure way to make PvP like GvG, an uphill lack of fun..

Furthermore, we are thinking that anyone who takes a bounty cannot be bountied for taking it. This would mean being a Bounty Hunter would no longer be more damaging to the Hunter, making it a viable part of the game again. However, we would like constructive feedback regarding this.

I don't get how hcs is thinking on this subject.

 

On the one hand, we have players pvping ( hourly, gold, prestige hits) and being possibly punished for it by being bountied.

 

 

On the other hand we have players accepting those bounties , hitting them for prestige, smasher ticks, rewards, etc. And being told: It's ok, no risk for you, we don't want you getting hurt.( if this update goes through)

 

 

 

Seriously, what the heck. o.O

Simply allow the acceptance of one bounty on a player at a time, until *said* bounty is completed.  Accepting a bounty, the intention is there, just like with a deflected hit, so I've no issue with it being bountyable.

You rolled the dice spending the fsp to get to where your at... whether is 800 levels down or only 700, you took a chance. No more a chance than anyone buying an item out the Auction House before an event or offer. They are not reimbursed for their actions why should anyone else? Not like HCS made you waste tons of fsp to de-level yourselves...

Hoof - Maybe I'm not getting your proposal, or maybe I am.  Are you saying that if a player's purpose is just to gain guild xp that the EOC player could simply, kill the creatures at their level or any level they happen to be at and the guild would gain the same amount of xp as if they were leveling, thus removing the need to delevel?

I do think the suggestion to have guild tax also be applied is truly helpful and beneficial as well, and I truly hope this will be included.  It does not affect my guild, so no I have nothing to gain, nor does my guild but WE ALL GAIN if people still feel they can contribute who are team minded.

Comment on Bounty/Smasher medals:  
I proud and glad that I - 100% earned my Bronze Smasher medal and took risks doing it, no freebies whatsoever, nor did I punish others unnecessarily for my goal.  I took players at all levels including as high as almost 500 levels above me and if I got to the 10 hit, then I 100 stammed and I warned the player of what I was doing.  So I didn't punish some noob by 100 stamming him for all 10 hits to get my medal, as so many do.  Some of those that I cleared bountied me and some took care to take 5 levels *shrug*, some didn't and became chums, and some did both.  A lot of my 100 smasher hits both for Bronze and Silver are from the Ladder, but recently I have done requested deleveling smasher hits.  They still come with a cost -- about 40 fsp worth of stam cost, so nothing's free.  Am I as proud of my Silver as my Bronze - no!  But for those that just 100 stam all 10 bounty hits one some player who's 100's of levels below them, is that a feat to be proud of?  Well, I don't think so, so let's not worry about policing every little thing in the game and just play. :)

I think the root of the problem is more why players de-level not how, hence this suggestion :)

 

So you are suggesting that its okay for these players to abuse the Bounty board for their own benefit? What is the point of the bounty hunter medal then? what is the point of the smasher medal? What value does it have if it is basically handed out to those who can waste thousands of stamina on free bounty hunts and smasher hits? 

 

IMO you are missing the root of the problem bud. What got a lot of the community riled up in the first place was the abuse of the bounty board. At least it is for me. 


I really dont think this should be changed. People have been subleveling for years, if you change anything in regards to how subleveling and XP work then you only make it unfair / advantageous for people that have subleveled in the past or people that would sublevel in the future.

It is part of the game. There are no major flaws in the system. If people dont like that others get a lot of Guild XP by subleveling then they can go do it themselves.

 

Leave it as is. This is a minor game issue, that is not worth discussing.

 

Minor game issue? Not worth discussing? I'm sorry did you miss the 40+ pages of arguments various people in the community had over this on the forums?

 

This is a huge issue my friend. And it is most definitely worth discussing.
