Not that i partake in PvP really... I wouldn't be against widening the ranges seeing that the player rate is decreasing. Only makes sense to counterbalance that with increasing range.

2nd suggestion following on from Chazz's first; a PvP Global Event. HCS, you must have looked at how one could be implemented, right? And Hoof, way back when, said that this would happen but as yet NADA.

The player base has become so thin, opening the PvP attack range makes sense. I have 7 players in my range for example. I'm absolutely sure there are ranges with much less. While some continue to want to water down PvP, after PvP protection was instituted I've wanted nothing but the opposite to make THE GAME GREAT AGAIN!! Let's hope Hoof has some time in his busy schedule to do some real development again.

Remove XP loss from pvp hits and i'm pretty sure most people wouldn't care if you get +10 or +100 prestige from a 100 stam hit. That would open up PvP for all.
You must be suggesting to gain Prestige from GvG battles. That's what the above is suggesting.

I had a giggle too.
As for the ranges, +10 levels per 1000 levels might not make the levelers feel like the apocalypse has descended upon them.
1-999: keep as is.
1000-1999: +/- 20 levels
2000-2999: +/- 30 levels
3000-3999: +/- 40 levels
I think stam used should be reflected in prestige gained, so making 10stams give 1 prestige, and 100stam give 10 prestige would make me smile.

I do not, however, believe that the 10 stam hit should be excluded from prestige, as has been suggested in this thread. IMHO, 10 stam or 100, you take the risk of losing up to 5 levels, there should be something for being willing to make the jump.
I believe we both have the same perspective Penny. All attacks should gain Prestige! 10 stam to 100.
My opinion, as always, is that prestige should reflect the amount of stam used, and that a successful defense should gain prestige as well....
The defensive Prestige gain should only apply IF prestige was awarded according to stam used, but is a fair idea.
The reward of gaining a small amount of xp gain through Prestige is paltry compared to the rampant collusion to trade hits.
Also, arguing about whether or not Fallensword is a PvP game or not and where it is revealed is nonsense. If you haven't figured out what's going on in the first 50 levels then HCS' instructions have failed. They need to make PvP more inclusive to players, and always have needed to do more. The daily dumb quests including PvP is a good start!

I would rather see this:
- for "normal" PvP (gold hits)
10 stam = ZERO Prestige (will counter "prestige trading")
100 stam = 10 Prestige
- for the PvP Lader
10 stam = ZERO Prestige (will counter "prestige trading + already PvP Prestige potion there)
100 stam = 1 Prestige
- for the Bounty Board
10 stam = 1 Prestige
100 stam = 5 Prestige
Prestige Rewards are good BUT definitely NO to #4 !!! NO "safe" hits (would both upset PvPers & NON-PvPers) !!!!

Prestige was meant as a way to get a little extra xp back from hunting if you "lived by the sword" and often got posted for a joyful smacking. Not as something levelers should twist into something they could get a little extra from - as safely as possible.
I recall all the twisting and perverting of the ladder concept (and the pvp event thing - oh and on the smasher medal), and recall who were the most outspoken on the matters, so that they could gain an extra little shiny to their leveling way of game play.
And yeah, that came out a tad bitter - but there might be a reason for that.
Marys suggestion could tweak the prestige system a little back into the direction it was originally meant. My only change would be, to remove prestige from the ladder completely. Same with the smasher medal - that one belonged to the board and normal PvP... but that might just be derailing, so I'll stop ![]()

I'm not sure why you think relics and pvp go together. PvP players have been being suspended, banned, and worse for years when it comes to pvp and relics. You can't tell someone you are hitting them to defend the relic your guild wants to hold. That's abusive! Or at least it is more then enough to have Grim step in and start deleting everything, suspending everyone, and making his own threats. That's why there are no more good guild wars.

Okay, so let me get this straight. If another guild takes a relic my guild is holding, and my guild starts to hit the members of the other guild, so long as we are polite when we say it isn't personal, we're just defending a relic, you and HCS will not get involved? You will not ban players or stop the hitting for no reason other then it involves a relic? Or is hitting someone in an enemy guild 'abusive'? I want to be sure we have this straight, since I have found myself in this situation more then once, and it has always gone the same way.
I seriously doubt you will get a straight answer !!!

OFFICIALLY
relics are owned by HCS & NOT by any guild !!!
relics can be defended by "any means" necessary using in-game mechanics !!!
UNOFFICIALLY
any PvP related actions because of relics may lead to a suspension since relics are NOT owned by players / guilds !!! they belong to HCS, that's why many PvPers have learned to go into "radio silence" & only let their stam do the "talking" !!!

since relics are owned by HCS & any related PvP actions are forbidden then PvP in general (normal PvP, PvP Ladder, BB, ..) should be forbidden too since characters are owned by HCS too !!! => that's why I believe it is UNOFFICIAL !!!
because IF HCS made it OFFICIAL that any PvP related actions because of relics are forbidden (since relics are owned by HCS, not by the players) then they would have to forbid PvP in general too (since characters are owned by HCS, not by the players) !!!

I cannot see how that happens if attacker is taking things seriously, if my maths doesn't fail in here, to beat your unbuffed offline (epic) gear attacker needs to have 9k attack, 15k damage (in case RA kicks in) and some 65k armor (in case your CS and PS kick in) and something like 100 hp in case attacker is really unlucky and misses 100 times (or was 100 rounds equal draw, it might be less?) while you hit attacked with 1 damage
Not really.... people try to win, but if they aren't in the least into PvP, it's not always easy to calculate things. I respect that not everyone knows how to do that, and I usually just tell them what stats they'll need to win the next time.
And.... I am definitely not here to troll, just air my views on your suggestions..... I would completely hate seeing normal pvp turn into another Arena... to show you exactly how far from your view mine is, here's a short list:
1. I'd like the ladder to be removed, and all hits (with the exception of the BB and GvG) to count towards it.
2. I'd like pvp protection to be removed.
3. I would like ALL 100 stams in the game, not just ladder and BB hits, to count towards smasher medal.
4. I'd like every single hit in the game, including ladder, to be bountyable.
5. I'd like the amount of levels you can take on the BB to be increased to 10+.
6. I'd like MasterThief to kick in 20%+ of the times.
7. I'd like Gloat to work FAR better.
8. I'd like Deflect to be completely removed from the game.
9. I'd like prestige to be based on stamina used, so you get less if you 10 stam, and more for a 100 stam hit.
10. I'd like a cappuccino and a grilled vegetable/goat cheese sandwish.
I know a lot of people would run for the hills if I got most of those wishes, so that won't happen. I'll take care of number 10 myself here in a minute though. My point being, I also know a lot of people who would leave if your suggestions were implemented, and as much as I like that you make suggestions, I can't support those specific suggestions, and I never will. I'd probably be one of the first to leave, and I would hate it if it came to that (again). I love the community in this game, the friends here is what keeps me logging in. The cows have a very difficult task, trying to keep everyone happy, but if you think of where the game is at at the moment, and then compare it with some of my suggestions, and yours, you might see that it's actually not all that bad the way it is, right?

These kind of suggestions continue to amaze and amuse me. The game mechanics revolve around buffs and you want to change that? I vote NO! There are so many buffs available now that specifically help the defender and some are nearly "win button" buffs. When you consider how game changing fumble, high guard, golden shield, dispel curse, invert, fist fight, smite, and sealed are to a defenders role, then perhaps you would understand that defending against attacks are easy! I know some of those buffs are useful for attacking as well but you can't rely on them to activate to win. Sounds to me like you want to win without actually defending in the game style of pvp. This doesn't even consider the fact that any player can buy pvp protection or lock their XP at anytime for a relatively cheap fee.
It appears you have put a lot of time and thought process into your suggestion and I commend that. However, I completely disagree with any of the changes you've suggested.
