#962369 Increasing BB activity :)

Posted by Calista on 19 April 2016 - 23:51

LMAO..    Ok.

Fact of the matter, all bounty hunters are mercs once you look at the way it works.

The bounty is placed by someone.

The bounty is taken by someone, who is not relevant, that hunter has been hired to clear that bounty.

Their payment is the bounty they get for clearing said bounty.

That's pretty clear to me.

You're entitled to your opinion. I don't agree with you, but then that's why I actually play this part of the game and you talk about it.

Great idea, Luis.  Though personally I think bounty tickets need to be gotten rid of completely. But since that won't happen, then this certainly works.

If you want to be a merc,  you should have to put some effort into it.  The bb already provides a reward for the bounty hunter.  Don't  use the board as a way to get free crap, or a way for people to buy wins in a war.  It should require some effort,  same as gathering people up for a delevel instead of throwing money at it and buying wins.

Leave PvP alone already. They screw it up every time they make a change.

Edit:  Yes, I would benefit from this because all I do in the game at this point is 100 stam on the board. But I'm also known to hate mercs and help people go after them.  I don't want this change because I don't want to be forced into merc like activity.  When people try to pay me for helping them delevel someone, it is almost offensive though I know it is not meant to be. This change would limit my ability to cleanly clear bounties.

#962204 Another Suggestion

Posted by Calista on 15 April 2016 - 17:33

If you don't want to lose levels on the bounty board, then stop hitting people. You had your fun when you jumped those bounties for smasher ticks, or that prestige hit, or gold hit, or whatever your reasons were. Stop complaining that you hit someone with friends who were willing to stand up for them while yours are not.  You have the same ability to retaliate as ANY OTHER PLAYER!!

People complain that the pvp'ers are killing pvp by being to harsh. I say you guys keep thinking it's going to change.  IT HAS NOT!   Hit our people, we hit you.  Don't like it,  don't hit.   Got it??

Leave pvp alone already.

#957149 PvP Ladder Bands

Posted by Calista on 15 January 2016 - 16:36

Ugh, leave things alone already until HCS knows what they want to do. The ladder is the same mess it has always been, with half thought out ideas that aren't properly followed up on. We told them this is what would happen. WE KEEP SAYING IT!! They don't want to listen to the players who actually play the area of the game. So they get bored and stop. The people who don't play the ladder have no idea what their talking about so their suggestions are beyond useless, and clearly with the goal to simply remove the pvp angles of the game rather then make an effort to make it work.  Not to mention, they aren't playing the ladder now nor do they have any plans to ever play the ladder. You're not going to come up with some Awesomely Fantastic idea that makes everyone happy.

It's never going to happen.  So either make it work for your 'ladder' players, or quit wasting everyones time, including HCS's.

#950650 PvP Ladder Rewards : Chests

Posted by Calista on 08 October 2015 - 13:55

Suspension only occurs in the case of posts being inappropriate. What I'm talking about is some players not responding to something that is purely conversational.

I was a diplomat back in the day.  My diplomatic messages were used by HCS as a way to threaten us with suspensions and demands that we stop hitting. PvP'ers have been taught, through multiple experiences, that any conversation with a target is detrimental. Just asking for a simply apology for whatever the problem was in order to stop the fighting was called a demand and led to pvp'ers hands being tied to do anything but stop unless we wanted to be suspended or worse. You're not going to get conversation out of alot of us. We speak with our stam, nothing more.

#950649 In other news, an idea related to PvP

Posted by Calista on 08 October 2015 - 13:36

You either get PvP, or you don't.  Few people actually want to lose levels. That is never my goal when smashing someone. But I take pride in defending my guild and friends without fear of losing levels. Why is that an issue for those who don't care for pvp? The smasher medal was a start for rewarding those of us who do play the pvp angle of the game. I like the idea of rewarding those who step up and take the risk involved.

The board can be and is used as punishment. But that requires players to step up and risk their levels. If it's not working the way it is intended too, that isn't the fault of those who do use it as punishment. It's the fault of those who sit back and whine it isn't done automatically. (Not to mention the xp loss for the bounty hunters, who now are losing levels for quitting bounties they can't win)

The smashing medal gives people ticks for using 100 stam hits. Would it be that hard to keep track of who gets hit with a 100 stam?  Interesting idea.

I'd like to see a win/loss record.

#949669 New GvG Epic Recipes Released!

Posted by Calista on 25 September 2015 - 14:36

I'm not sure why EoC players get more stam gain while lower levels players do not. Shouldn't we be encouraging and helping the smaller guy get bigger, not the bigger get even larger?

Regardless, I don't personally deal with epics unless throwing some on right before I hunt. Which is maybe 3 times a year. Nice to see any updates made to different areas of the game, even if they don't make much sense to me.

#949434 DYNAMIC GvG Ladder! [Poll/Discussion] 10/10 IGN

Posted by Calista on 23 September 2015 - 16:57

go on 100 stam smashing me on the BB for 9 hits then quit (that goes out to RA *wink* *wink*),

Totally off topic, but the reason you are hit 9 times and then left on the board is so that someone else can come along and do more damage, whether that is another guild mate with more 100 stam hits, or a bounty hunter just clearing you. It's a logical tactic used by many.

GvG isn't really my thing, though I've been involved in many. Sorry Tuvok, but I don't see this idea working. It's another way of punishing those who take part in this area of the game while making it easier for those who don't want to do the work.

#949368 Not Sure The Devs Intended This...

Posted by Calista on 22 September 2015 - 21:59

The bounty board isn't suppose to 'explode' with life. It's never going to have the number of players that other areas of the game do. Not anymore, not after all the changes that keep being done to kill it. For example, everyone levels at some point. Maybe only a little, and maybe not often, but every player has had some experience with it. That will never be said for pvp or the bounty board.

But when they are making changes that are chasing off the ones who do play this area of the game, what is the goal?

It isn't 1 player saying they gave up on one bounty because of the xp loss. I've posted numerous times about the huge amount of bounties that are being left to expire since this change. I'm just showing a specific example.

The person who posted the bounty on me just congratulated me on a good defense. I didn't do anything. It's sad to see the board left like that. I don't expect someone who never plays the board to understand that.

It takes skill and knowledge to clear bounties successfully. But when even the skilled bounty hunters are saying 'why bother', then why have the board there at all?

I was never a fan of the Seasons thing. Well, the changes it made to the bounty board anyway. They would have gotten alot further if they'd left the bounty board out of it. We tried to tell HCS exactly what would happen. They decided it was smarter to not tell us anything until they rolled the whole thing out without proper testing.  And once we saw what the changes were, it went exactly the way we said it would.

#948981 Not Sure The Devs Intended This...

I appreciate everyone who has replied in this topic. It can be a heated subject for many. The walls of text are a bit overwhelming for me, though. That's why I had stopped posting in this topic and was letting Luis do his thing. I'll reply as best I can.

I can't speak for the reasons why bounties are expiring. I know there is a relic war going on and that's part of it. But bounties were not typically being left to expire before this change. Bounty hunters typically take no part in whatever the drama is that leads to people being on the board. Our job is to clear the bounties, not get involved. (Guild wars and bounty hunting are 2 separate things, from my POV) And prior to this change, the bounties were cleared unless someone put in the effort to fight off clearers.

From my POV, the bounty hunters aren't going to waste their money, bounty tickets, buffs, and now xp to clear someone much higher level then them. There is no incentive to even try,  which is why I believe so many bounties are being left to expire. I've been specifically told by players they aren't going to pay HCS to advertise who's hitting them for 2 days, which is essentially all they're doing at this point.  That kills the number of bounties on the board, specifically because there is no reason to try.

Bounty hunters already face the risk of a counter bounty. Yes, I know you would like to see counter bounties gone. But those of us who play the board know the risks and accept them. Why more punishment for those of us willing to help those who post the bounties?

Conserve does not kick in 100% of the time. The bounty hunters who are clearing bounties use it to save their stam, which bounty hunting sucks up. Another downfall for the hunters.

I think that is all I need to say at this point. I wanted to make sure HCS is aware that is what is happening now. And to ask if that was their intention.

#948888 New Ladder and Arena Items.

Posted by Calista on 16 September 2015 - 16:43

Even if the tokens are unbound the market will be "driven" by those that have tokens. We EARNED them. Whether you believe they were earned unfairly, that is your problem. I resent it when players say my years on the Ladder sometimes fighting, sometimes not, sometimes winning, sometimes not, doesn't deserve value for the tokens I've earned. ANYONE could have played the Ladder. Bitterness is what I hear.

I tried the ladder. I couldn't do it. Hitting friends just went too against what I play the game for.  But I have nothing but respect for those who have played it over the years and gathered up their rewards, knowing they were basically useless and that they would have to wait for changes. Anyone could have played the ladder and done the same these players did. To complain otherwise is just silly.  Kinda like complaining about a pvp guild that will defend its members just because other big old guilds won't bother.  :P

It's being commented on in our guild chat. It was a great idea to cancel all the auctions on items that are going to be needed. Nice work on that, HCS.  :)

#948843 New PvP Ladder Items!

Posted by Calista on 16 September 2015 - 14:34

I voted no. The ladder rewards need to stay bound. We've tried it the other way and it didn't work. We want to keep moving forward, rather then repeat the same mistakes.  I'm curious to see how the poll turns out though. From what I've been hearing, I'm not sure what the result will be.

I've made my concerns about the update clear. I'm going to keep it to myself for now and say a few 'I told you so's later. Hopefully in the near future updates will include rewards in other areas of the game which will require the same as you're requiring of ladder players now. It'll be interesting to see it play out.
