#877771 Scavenging NEEDS to be updated..

Posted by Pardoux on 07 July 2014 - 23:39

OK, I appreciate that the main intention of scavenging is to sink gold - and, in that intent, it does a reasonable job. BUT, it could sink a LOT more if changes were made ...

I've just spent 15 million in the Mystic Cave, looking for "Barathor, the seer of Fire". At 45,000 per attempt, I actually SAW him only 17 times - so, a spend of 765,000 gold. The rest of that was wasted on random rubbish that I had absolutely no interest in.

Now, some folk could see that critter with a higher frequency and some could see it with a lower frequency, but the fact remains that if you see your "target" creature (I mean specific LE creatures in the caves btw) more than 5-10% of each attempt, then you're doing really well. If you get drops, then you're doing even better. I got one drop from Barathor - thankfully perfect - but 1, nevertheless.

The fact that I dont even SEE my target creature for approx 95% of my attempts dissuades me from spending copious amounts of gold ..

IF the caves were updated - by the addition of a third cave for "specials" where you ONLY saw those specials (with a lowered drop rate - and maybe even an increased cost) - then I'm sure folk would be willing to spend / sink more gold. Reducing a double-whammy chance of success to a single chance of success (chance of actually finding and then getting a drop as opposed to just the chance of getting a drop) can be nothing but a step in the right direction and thus a win / win.

After all - more gold sunk and players happier because they actually SEE the creature they're after - what can be wrong with that ?

As I've said, I'll deal with the Potion prices, we're just a bit swamped at the moment. Be patient.

#877638 gluten

Posted by duktayp on 07 July 2014 - 00:08

i was randomly lurking in a gluten forum....

someone was saying they had an allergic reaction to the gluten used in envelop glue when sealing a letter and...

a women concerned about the gluten content in her husbands...dna... during moments of intimacy

and, after doing only the most rudimentary research on gluten i have concluded

if we have come to the point where we, homo sapiens, are now allergic to BREAD, then we have failed as a species

#876914 FSH - Ban, or Not ?

Posted by gomezkilla on 01 July 2014 - 22:26

and that's not something I'm going to explain - nor do I need to.

The cows accepted it as proof - that's all that matters :)

I saw a ghost. I'll tell you all about it except any of the details. I even convinced a few others that I saw it and they believed me. Now we should move to rid the whole world of ghosts.

That is basically what your argument is. Unfortunately, I won't believe in ghosts until proof is provided.

Sorry, but until proof is provided, I will stand by the "innocent until proven guilty" argument.

#875050 Script detection

Posted by murabane on 23 June 2014 - 21:36

I'd really just want to know what its actually doing, other than slowing everyone down across the board. Haven't seen or heard of anyone getting the hammer from it, and i know everyone hunting is setting it off multiple times. Hate to be negative about it, but its gets fairly annoying.

It doesn't detect scripts like I've been saying i know exactly what they did to shut people up... Its so obvious and in your face. In my opinion it needs to go because it serves no real purpose other than hindering people who play by the rules.

#876713 An Introduction

Posted by Tornik2 on 30 June 2014 - 15:03

Hi there folks, I just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. My name is Craig Withers, but you'll see me posting here as Tornik. I'm the new Social Media and Marketing Graduate for Hunted Cow. The more eagle-eyed of you may have noticed the job posting advertised a while back.

It's my job, amongst other things, to grow the audience for Hunted Cow's games. What this means is that I'll be the one running our Twitter, Facebook and other social media presences. I think it's safe to say that in the past, we've not really made the most of these, and we plan on changing that from here on out.

We've already got some very exciting ideas on where to go, and we'll be ramping up steadily over the next few weeks. In the meantime though, if you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to either comment here or drop me an email at press@huntedcow.com

#876577 Script detection

Posted by EpicPiety on 29 June 2014 - 20:19

I do not script either and am plagued with this inconvenience...its not programmed properly... They just overwrote the speed limit thing and changed the note you get when you hit it i think...Because if you haven't realized it the speed limit message doesn't exist anymore...It is not actually detecting scripts its just detecting how fast you are going that's it and slowing you down. Which is far from detecting if you are scripting. If you are able to move fast without scripting you SHOULD NOT be slowed down that's just outrageous. It really disrupts your rhythm while hunting...
