I wasn't looking at the thread as a replacement to GvG as we know it -there is already a masterful post somewhere in the development roadmap that I happen to see when browsing   - I did look at the idea as a additive - they are going to rework GvG -and I am not opposed to arranged GvG's in addition to the classic option.

could do a guild war opt in like in the ladder but a guild privilage and then have a list of the actual participants to check whos in and out with a link to each ones profile. could also do a token type system instead of making it count towards rating or Rp. i also liked the idea of a harder core side to this, could be a bit sperate from a normal guild war with higher stakes and rewards. all in all i like where this is going, hope to read more :)

#868266 My suggestion on reviving the Arena

Posted by yodamus on 12 May 2014 - 16:32

finally..may 12th has come..arena improvement day...i know it is not going to happen...may not happen this week or month...maybe not even this year....but someone from cows please update the dates so we all have a better idea as to when this is going to come about...all arena players have waited patiently for 3 months ( was to be feb 12th, till chrome crash put date back 3 months) for these much needed improvements, actually have waited close to 2 years for improvements...the arena token thread started in aug 2012......please cows fix arena...it has become sooo slow that players are losing to players that have been booted from the game, many days before the tourney even starts...very bad....many good suggestions..arena tokens need to start soon...arena fixes sooon...maybe this week..maybe this month...someone give us an idea..i feel personnaly very discouraged with arena and the attention it is getting from the cows right now..and i am hardcore arena..top 3 arena players have left the game...i wonder why..give some attention to arena..please...

I've thought of a way to make GvGing a real challenging aspect of the game by making 1 simple addition :D
This will
1) even the playing field for all guilds, big or small
2) allow players to wear their stamina gear offline knowing they are protecting in the event of a GvG conflict attack
3) Minimize needing perfect scores as the norm allowing least loses as goal to win
4) allow guild members to have more ability to protect targeted members
5) make GvGing challenging, minimizing preying on under- equipped targets and  providing the sensation that you earned the  Guild RPs

The addition is to add to Combat Sets " Load GvG Readiness Gear"

When a player attacks, PvP or GvG, this triggers the auto-load of the preset gear so on the 2nd-25th attacks the attacker will have to deal with the new gear setup. (The initial attack will be on the original gear of course)
Now the attacker must re-configure their buffs and/or gear if need be, to continue.
To load the gear, a player places items in a special slot located in Combat Sets and saves just like you normally would any combat sets, except at a cost, say 25K gold. Now the gear is loaded, so the player can switch to whatever gear they want to have equipped for general game play.
It would be best to have an on/off switch in case the player is leveling with specific gear and gets PvPed, causing the the auto-load of the GvG Readiness Gear..

Pros
1) With more and more players equipping stamina boosting gear to re-coop burned stamina from all these events :), it is open season for easy Guild RP farming. With this auto-load function in place, guilds will have to "work" for Guild RPs.
2) No matter what buffs you put on a player that is in stamina boosting gear, you can't protect them.
Yet a guild can buff-protect it's members if the player is properly equipped.
3) For Defending guilds, this simple addition will allow more strategic planning and involvement with member's participation to the guild as a whole.
4) For Attacking guilds, they still have the upper hand because they are prepared for retaliation and their members also have the Auto-load function.

Cons
 1) If a player logs off with stamina boosting gear equipped, with the plan of accumulating massive amounts of bonus stamina and a PvPer strolls by and attacks you, triggering the auto-load, say bye bye to the bonus stamina. (hmm, what to do what to do?)
2) Just like any other items you have saved in Combat Sets, if 1 or more is removed from BP, they will not be loaded with the rest of the items.
3) Each time you load there will be a gold cost.
4)Guild leaders will have to police their members...have available PvP/GvG gear for their members to use and reminders to load their GvG Readiness Gear before logging off.

In conclusion
Which would be more exciting to you? Continue hitting the weak for perfect 50/50 scores or trying to defeat a well buffed and well equipped player(s) in an attempted to beat their guild's 27/50 score?
Having every member logged on 24/7 is impossible, yet with this simple addition every member can be virtually present 24/7.

ABSOLUTELY wild idea that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE!

I've been having thoughts of a global competition amongst guilds for a long time and I'm glad someone has finally put the idea into words!

I am so pumped up already that I'm grinning from ear to ear while typing this (no joke). :D

A few suggestions:

1) add a prize pot... I for one will put down 25 FSP to the victor guild ( how this would be determined IDK but we can figure it out...

2) DO NOT let guilds with less then 10 (TEN) ACTIVE members participate... (This is kinda iffy considering many of those small guilds are huge on GvG)

3) Add a side competition for those who are TRULY hardcore and want an ACTUAL WAR... I mean legit 100 stam hits that take XP and what not... The war would last for 1 week and the guild who takes the most levels from the other would receive 100 FSP (or something like that) from the losing guild.

LETS JUICE THINGS UP IN FS LAND FOLKS!!!! :)  ;)  :P  :D   :( ^_^

I like the concept mate - can have different types of battle - a guild champion feature where if opposition guild wants to take on the champ & has a representative it can be a one on one affair - or a select number of players to go head to head - problem that is foreseeable is match up issues amongst guilds member levels - but that can fall into regular GvG where notice is given ahead of time - lucky for you; when I pm'd Lap about a allies week where we could go head to head she simply declined to answer :P  or conveniently missed the pm - ODP would love to show you girls how to play ball :P  You Down With ODP!!!!

+1 on your idea mate

#867447 Arena Tips - Arena Advice - The Arena in General

Posted by yghorbeviahn on 08 May 2014 - 07:04

I'm not an expert, not even close, and that's why I'm giving my tips as a newbie, must be important for starting players.

1 - Try to develop your own setups while you're getting the moves at the Novice area, that will give you a lot of loses, and they are more important than the wins, so you can understand how to upgrade your skills.

2 - Ask! I'm sure you have a friend or a guildmate who play the Arena, ask for some advice, usually guildmates have access to the same amount of gear than you, so will be a lot easier to follow then on Guild Log.

3 - Keep notes, as everyone said above.

4 - Keep a week results, something like 80 loses x 8 wins, what gives you a 10% win rate, your plan is to raise that rate every week.

5 - The low level Arenas need a lot more Epics than the high level ones.

6 - Don't give up that easy, I know you're losing more than winning, and that's normal, I remember a case of 60 Arenas without any win.

7 - Pay attetion to the new setups, on the Dragon LE Events we had a big setup change, and a friend won 8+ gold Arenas in a day with those new setups in the day they were released.

#867203 Ideas to motivate players to be online

Posted by Ryebred on 07 May 2014 - 03:05

I have a crazy idea...that doesn't need any kind of updates...and my respects to non-pvpers...but what about a preplanned all out Guild vs. Guild 24 hour Smackdown!!! :D old school ground and pound...non of this ninja stealth GvG...but what if every guild was aware that there was going to be an all out Guild Smackdown...we just ask that anyone that doesn't want to be involved just gear up in a nice defensive set for 24 hours then they can put there Stam gear back on.....think about it....if guilds stood together all buffed up beating on one another while players were online I doubt there would be any 50-0 wins ha!!! I think this could be a really exciting event that us players could put together...promote it here and in FS....I do think that someone from HCS should be online to monitor all the smack talk in the FsBox(all in good fun kind of smack talk but there's always a few that get out of hand). If guilds had outgoing attacks and incoming attacks at the same time it would be Epic Crazy :D especially if to players were pounding on one another at the same time!!! Just thought I would throw that out there ;)

I really like this idea - I personally would embrace any challenge to my guild in a GvG live tournament or event.  Not many players are willing to hit into live buffed opposition

I thought you couldn't see your opponents setup? That would be tremendously helpful if you could but my understanding is that's closely guarded secret

You can't exactly know his gear and stats, but you can deduce whether a player uses Def or Arm setup based on his moves. When I said 'setup', I meant 'play style'.

One thing that helped me make some setups is find an approximate max for each stat (excluding HP).. meaning, at Level X, the most attack I could ever get is Y. Then take those numbers and get as close as possible to two of the stats with your gear.
