Just please add GvG Ladder resets. Nothing changes fundamentally without it. Fresh feel will be great and something to constantly work towards or get involved.

For what it is worth, my 2 cents...

 

Overall, don't go for the changes that you suggest. It really won't help GvG.

A notification won't help, guilds that care and are active will respond to the guild log of initiation and start buffing and gearing up. Guilds that are not active or do not care, well they won't regardless of any earlier message.

What is next? We change PvP that way aswel? "Look out, player X will try to attack you in 2 hours!".

That will take the fun out, the unexpectedness is part of GvG/PvP.

 

Adjusting the activity timer, what exactly does it solve? An player that is offline for 36h is not very likely to come online because of a GvG notification. If he would even get that message while being offline.

 

Expanding level ranges could help a bit as there would be more targets and therefore more opportunities to initiate.

 

But it all depends on wether the targeted guild/players are interested in GvG.

Whatever you tweak, it will not do anything to those that are not interested.

Thus the ONLY solution is to make GvG interesting. And the ONLY way to do that is by making the rewards interesting by adding RP packs (though I think that adding buff packs only won't do that much), and adding more RP inventable items/epics that are good enough to compete with what is already out there.

 

Another option is to make the defensive RP gains higher than the attacking RP gains. The attacking guild is always into GvG, it is the defending guild you need to get interested. If the RP rewards are worth it and you get more RP by defending, then you have an incentive to actually defend. And maybe, just maybe get the players/guilds aboard that are currently not interested.

Probably not a very popular thought, but instead of having to add more and more powerfull buff packs and epics (unless you want stam gain to go up and up), you could consider being able to buy guild upgrades with RP. Not sure how much that would hurt the games income, though I would suspect most bought fsp is sinked into gear and personal upgrades rather than guild upgrades.
But it could remove some headaches on how to get more/better use for RP.

Personally, I think most of these ideas are terrible. Expending the level range is going to be dependent on what the new level ranges would be. That one could go either way. 24 hour notice to defenders sounds nice on paper, and I get the idea behind it... but in practice, it's just going to make GvG even more of a slog than it already is.

 

Furthermore, if you reduce the AFK timer from 7 days down to 48 hours, that's the worst idea on this entire list. It's just going to mean that almost nobody has any viable targets, unless the expanded level ranges are intended to try and compensate for this. There are a LOT of semi-active players who still log in once or twice a week, but would no longer be viable GvG targets.

 

I would much rather you guys be looking at ways to try and make GvG more rewarding or engaging, instead of gutting it and making it even more frustrating. It's barely worth it as it is, and a lot of these suggested "improvements" are going to make it so nobody will even bother.

Most important question for me:

 

What happens to GvG? I feel that 50 stamina per hit in GvG should really stay! That way multis wont be able to participate in GvG and GvG itself is no more that farmable plantagion it used to be. I was gvging with my team for quite a while now and I plead to you to keep the GvG change. It was one of the positive things among the Season update! Please dont take this improvement away! Please!

 

We'll be changing it back to how it was, but we're happy to discuss future changes afterwards.

We just updated the Guild Conflict dropdown menu so that it will now only show targets within the valid level range. Let us know if that works better for you now?

I've been busy but this seems like a more than logical request. 

 

I like the idea of limiting the list to your actual hittable targets in the guild (keeping VL in mind, btw). One would hope blue and yellow coloring eventually gets implemented in FS (I "think" it is still just a helper option).

 

I'd go further and suggest an added tab on every player's profile. Perhaps a PvP target unrated and a GvG Conflict attack.

 

I actually didn't like that there is only one Fight Player option with four inside tabs. Seemed funky. And with this topic even more so. As the current attack takes you to the unrated attack and that is the only place the target's name is filled in:

 

Ie, I want to attack the player "Woc" in a GvG conflict after checking their equipment and buffs. I click on Attack Player in their profile. Woc is listed in Pick Target (unrated) tab, but not in the Guild Conflict tab.

Thanks for yet another event HCS! It's good to keep having things to do on FS :)

One thing I have noticed though, it almost seems as if on here, if a couple of people ask for some sort of event, they get it. I know this event was asked for by a few people and all of a sudden, a few days later it's been released again. Not that I'm complaining but there's no element of surprise anymore :( We know about the 2x XP event, the dragon LEs, the titans, santork/reindeer LEs and this global event ALL in advance. There's no pleasant surprises anymore :(

HCS can't win. Give people a heads up, people complain. Surprise everyone, people complain.

I still believe it's not a good idea to simply cancel a part of the rich history of this game. Should we forget Muhammad Ali aka Cassius Clay just because he's not active anymore? These players are the history of FS!

 

If I remember well, during the last discussion about this issue I proposed to have two lists: one top-rated list of currently active players and a Hall of Fame of the all-time best players. This is a compromise that gives new players a chance without ignoring/discarding the history of the game.

 

Remember Phool even if Phool's Paradise has become a quiet place ...

I meant to respond to this earlier, then forgot about it.  Instead of taking the time to take snapshots and all.  Just entering in our #'s.  

Already Achieved:

Unstoppable & Abracadabra

I don't see us at The Highwaymen achieving these:
 

* Eagle Eye: 27,952 / 250,000 

 

* Stronger Together: 1,420 / 50,000 

* Exterminators: 149,696 / 1,000,000
 

They're not easily attained, and I think that's okay.  It might be nice if a guild's performance on these was graduated according to the size of the guild, but really okay that it isn't.   Not sweating any of these.

Interesting.  I've often wondered how other guilds were doing in getting some of the "lesser" awards.  Of course I don't have our stats at this moment, but I do know they're under 10%.  You're doing good ;)

HCS has left the (already working) system in place for half a decade. Substituting one in that will do nothing but go further to reduce interpersonal relations in the game, well, I kinda doubt it, we'll see though I guess.
