#1009100 Planned GvG Updates

Posted by Maehdros on 14 March 2023 - 13:43

Durability damage to gear is all that occurs. No gold loss or xp. The same thing can occur when leveling or hunting etc. No need for a gvg opt out in my opinion.

With regards to the main post, updated rp packs are nice of course , but what about updated rp items and recipes etc? What are the new level ranges? And how rp is awarded and so on? Post seems very vague.

Cheers~

#1008536 Fallen Sword Roadmap (Nov - Feb 2023)

Posted by Arioche on 25 October 2022 - 08:38

I don't know what % of players would want HCS to spend time on questing content but hopefully there are meaningful or substantial rewards that are hard to ignore like the epic quests or the Christmas quests at level 3000 for leveling pots.

Thanks for the update!

Hello!

As a writer myself, we will be able to dabble into content that admittedly hasn't seen much attention. In regards to Epic Questlines that have yet to finish (most notably Present Darkness) I personally will be happy to deliver that conclusion that so many of you have been asking for  :)

Thank you!

This would be some great diversity to globals. I think there is a way it can be worked in.

#1006984 Arena Rules

Posted by IVANIDAS on 21 February 2022 - 04:27

Lately Arena has been a on going issue, mainly big guilds who have many arena fanatics. Arena is a style in the game like any other which should be respected. Some players struggle with arena which is normal. Solution?

  • Novice for one was a 10/10 idea to give players a trial run in arena. A majority of players get their 50 wins from there which is fine. Also Novice arena is less crowded as it locks when you reach 50 wins or you max the moves you are able to get.
  • If arena were to break down to brackets such as above (Novice 50), such as 100 wins, 500 wins, 1000 wins and so forth. Yes this will let players get the medal easier but also it will open the the problem for big guilds to do arena and be able to do their DQ.
  • Expanding amount of players in arena. Most arenas are 8/16 capacity. In 8, only 2 players from the same guild can join. For 16 I believe its 3 or 4. So how about making arenas 24 or 36? Solution to this it can let more players from the same guild join. Problem, the time it will start.

This is my ideas and thoughts. Please let me know what you guys think. I just see this subject be brought up a lot.

You forgot to mention it's easier and quicker to chat/communicate with guild members in guild chat, which would make abusing arena much faster than communicating and coordinating with people via emails/personal messages in game/discord.

You're also forgetting to remember that not much of the player base will have the integrity to not abuse the arena if the cap were removed. A few won't, but a large number of players will, the history of this game has proven that players will abuse anything this game has to offer just to get ahead.

Then why hasn't it been abused now? You suggest that it can't be done currently?

It's also far easier to communicate on discord and you can even have targeted and focused chats with specific purposes. I can much easier get someones attention on discord.

I don't think you make good points as they've been proven not to beable to stand on their own legs. I don't think you are considering the facts. I'll move on as it's not worth investing deeper into debate.

Can we have a little advance notice to the events? A weekly announcement that mentions the upcoming event for that week, perhaps.

Why ?

A surprise is better than knowing what's forthcoming ..

Will something else happen ? - who knows. VERY little happens in the game now 'cos the app seems to be the b-all and end-all of any/all development (be that for the better or worse - we all have our opinions)

Yes, find something that you enjoy to play. Do it. Keep expectations low and disappointment will be averted. There is already lots to do. New in-game profits, however, remain elusive.

#974848 Fallen Sword App Update (Jan 2017)

Posted by tuvok77 on 04 January 2017 - 16:12

From my viewpoint (customer) a very risky business decision. You will half the community of a sort of healthy game "Fallensword" and create a second "server" with the same game but with updated everything.

From my very humble perspective, it would be better to focus on making that beta app but at some point make it possible to Port over at least the complete character. Im not talking bout achievements or other things. But I doubt any of those big wallet whales would loose their attachement to their old account for the sake of something new where investments are mandatory just like in FS.

Same happened to a familiar game in which i got banned a year ago for using a keyboard mouse with macros short known as "RS"

heres what happened when they pulled the same thing off.

2 identical games were created. One that had the graphics of 2007 and everything with the same game dynamic but with new accounts and from scratch. Then there was the already 17 year old game that had the newest graphics the most content and the most players. It also was bot free to a point where you would not notice them. Game was still much critized because they did so many updates and not all of them were aknowledged as good.

so heres how it looks now and I can say that this is not the path I would like to see Fallensword fal into.

FSvsRS.png

I hope you come up with a solution that incorporates both games in a way that they may at least interact with eachother or we would come to a crossroad where the game will part its gaming community and influx of players will be divided for the worst.

I dont think it would be very wise as a (developer) to splitt your community in such a way that it may even affect your long term monetary income from milking us (the customer). You did alot of ventures with investing in branches like Eldevin and such. Theres only so much shots you can take before you have to reload the barrel. And it seems you should think about the cash cow Fallensword in a way to still keep your already paying playerbase and aquire new ones at the same time.

Options like:

- Promotional codes for new players only

- New player Ugrade draws 3 players from all the verified players who register in at that month are drawn for awesome upgrades for each starting month one time only.

- Epic quests and even richer content for lvl 1-300

- Random events for each player similar to the daily quests

youre the devs you gotta have some ideas how to improve a steady cash cow.

#974542 PVP ladder sets

Posted by sweetlou on 28 December 2016 - 20:42

For days now i have been toying with the idea of trying the ladder as i want a few sets which are exclusive to it.. i came to the conclusion for now at least i cant for various reasons ie not having the knowledge and access to the composing pots i would need to compete at my lvl ladder.. plus the length of time i would need to raise the tokens to make what i want.

I know you enjoy collecting sets and such, but like I said previously, from a playing perspective the Ladder sets are junk - not even close in value to the cost to gain them. The FSG shows how few players own them and that's all the evidence needed. If HCS wanted Crystal items to wear out they should have made stam gear crystal. That would have been interesting! But the game is driven by potential revenue these days. They are milking it. It's nothing like the way it started.

I can understand how you must feel being a fish in a barrel on the Ladder Hades when opponents have skills that are more than twice as powerful and last over 24hrs in duration. Supremacy on the Ladder has always been equated with staying buffed. Whoever is in charge of developing Fallen Sword these days continues down the road of denying how Super pots have devastated play throughout the game, especially with PvP and the Ladder. Even leveling now is relegated to how much stam is used, nothing more. The repeated argument that these pots are available to everyone hasn't spent the resources and years required to achieve the highest level composing pots. Few players, relative to player totals, have access or any chance to obtain the full compliment of pots. PvP has been made absurd. HCS development depends on the hierarchical donation system to survive but where it used to maintain a sense of fairness, there is now a blatant despotic advantage for those willing to keep the game alive through donations. This thread is yet another example that the discrepancy is vast between those that have the Super Pot skills and those that don't! But, but, but some, including HCS, say there are traveling composers who are available to buy these high level pots. Malarkey! The idea that traveling composers can supplant composing for yourself or for your guild like the buff market does for personal skills is simply wrong. The costs are prohibitive and is logistically impractical.

But at this stage nobody appears to be listening, nor, dare I say, that they don't even care beyond driving enough revenue to keep the lights running. Once Hoof manages to spend more then a few moments every other month developing the game we might see some improvement. It's likely too late. Like everyone else who's been playing between years and a decade, I'm continuing to play the way I've become accustomed and raising my opinion here in the forums like I always have. If that means continually being chastised and harassed, fine. Frankly I'm tired of caring. I'm numb to all of it too. I've been using words for a long time to give feedback. They must be scary because of the attention I receive at times. I'll leave the metaphorical shovels to the powers that be to dig the burial plot.
