"maintenance downtime or capacity problems" imply it's a server issue* so the next step in trouble shooting is: where are the servers?

I do not have a problem with PvP getting any updates, I just have to disagree that increasing the ranges is the right thing to do. This is the main point of my posts. Fix GvG, the arena or the ladder, if they are broken or even bring back a working version of PvP seasons that will make everyone happy.

 

I will re-quote myself in case it was missed. Almost every aspect of FS needs active players. HCS and the community need to come up with ideas to increase the activity in all areas.

Well, I'm not going to beat a dead horse.  You're certainly entitled to your opinion here, as are we all.  Hopefully Hoof can look at the whole matter objectively and come up with a solution that will please most everybody.

In all honesty, we are trying to revive a dying game. Increasing the PvP ranges or making it open will please one group of players while another group will get upset and might leave. It is impossible to make everyone happy, and I would think HCS would side with the majority. A simple question to ask, how many true levelers, ones that never PvP, not even for DQ or prestige, agree that increasing the ranges is a good idea?

You see, therein the problem lies.  So-called "true levelers" have historically tried to eliminate PvP from the game entirely, until it's become a watered down version of the fun aspect it once was.  FS was a PvP game from the start and many took any PvP activity as a personal affront.   What really irritates me is that the so-called "true levelers" get consistent updates and upgrades.  PvP gets nothing except the ladder which excludes that sector from the rest of the game (I ALWAYS believed that to be a bad move) , and the failed Seasons.  Everything else seems to be done to appease the so-called true leveler, and that has made a really fun part of the game something boring and stale.  Even Pillow fighting (GvG) has become almost unsustainable, and a source of complaints from the "true leveler" sector.  

 

PvP in all forms has reached its EoC.  It's way past time for new content for it.  It's blatantly unfair for one sector of the community to be ignored like PvP has been consistently for a decade.

 

Hoof, if you're listening, please, let's have some fairness back in FS.  Look at some of the ideas, such as Rye's innovative PvP GE event idea; revise seasons and bring it back for a second run; address the fact that many of us have few if any active targets for regular PvP.  This is just one of many suggestions, pleas or what have you just in recent times.  I know the app is important, but this is too...

Playing devil's advocate, but this would allow more PvPers to target you.

With all due respect dear, there's not that many of us left.  Those that weren't driven from the game in the early years, that have stuck it out, are sparsely scattered throughout the ranges, all the way to EoC.  And I can't tell you when the last time I saw somebody (besides me) in my bracket holding enough gold to target anyway.  The only other reason for PvP these days is vengeance, (and on the BB, levels don't matter as far as the hunter is concerned) Prestige, or that pesky DQ.  This isn't 2009-2010 when at any given hour of the day there are 1-2K players online and active.  On a good day (say during a seasonal event) 300-500 is a stretch near as I can tell.  

 

It's funny, when the range was expanded at 200+, I was almost there, I actually crossed that line when that was a new concept.  That was in late 2008 or early 2009 if my memory serves me correctly.....  EoC was definitely less than 1k then, and the ranges worked as hoof intended them to.  Now, EoC is better than quadruple that, and the active population is probably a quarter of the population of that time.  FS has changed, and EVERY OTHER aspect of the game has evolved and gotten updates at least once, if not more.  It's time for the PvP aspect of the game to get a facelift, too, so that this game can remain healthy.  

 

As always, this is just a silly old woman's opinion, but I don't think I'm alone in this......

If you try to craft those new items like Quango Rex Feather Cloak, nothing happens. You loose your fsp but crafting level wont change. Problably also broken.

That should be the stairways displaying correctly.

Due to these issues cropping up, I'll extend the event to cover the coming weekend for anyone who can only devote time to weekend playing as this is not their fault.

The level 2325 Pygmy Quango doesn't appear to be dropping the required item(s) to invent the recipe(?)

Steamwork Shennanigans ... The quest giver doesn't give you the "handy dented mace", nor does the shop sell it ? - and you need the invented "lightning infused mace" to kill the steamwork quangos ?

there's two quango island (depths) the one at 18,30 should be (darkness)
 
(caves) at 23,11 should be savannah

Will sort after the other bits and bobs.

the level 2900 quest says i must be level 3900 to advance in it.
is this correct or an error

Incorrect. Fixed.

Why all this is different, I dunno. It was in place when I Hooftested it! Double checking everything again. Sorry about this!

Wasn't the solo secure of titans made possible so that individuals not in a guild could secure a titan item?

No, the original intent was to allow those who had hits to make on Titans linked to Quests to do so even if the Guild is on cooldown. I personally think the blanket change should be removed.

You want fair ? - instead of RP, use SE drops (they're scattered across all levels) - the vast majority of 'em are worthless now so this could add some value back to them ...

This idea works for me. There is absolutely no reason to over complicate these things. Super Elites and the Epic to be upgraded. Should drain the surplus stock pile of both item types.

I believe that would be Juvi's GE idea, which has yet to  be completed

There have been 2 waves of it. A third will be coming but will need quantity adjustments after feedback.

As for this idea, I'll mention it to Hoofmaster. See what he thinks.

IMO it is better to use realm drops (SE, Elite, ....) + NEW Epic drops for the Tier System

 

it is better NOT to include any items from the PvP Ladder or Arena since players have been hoarding tokens for years !!!

also NOT include any RP items => current GvG system needs a re-work !!!

 

once the Tier Recipes are released the current realm titans (Ogalith, Deepwater Kraken, ...) will drop a "NEW Epic"

what I mean with NEW Epic drop is for Example this:

 

Ogaliths Fiery Grasp => Ogaliths Fiery Grasp II (or any name HCS chooses)

Deepwater Choker => Deepwater Choker II (or any name HCS chooses)

the NEW Epic will have the SAME stats as the previous one with just the difference that it will ONLY have a "different name"

 

this is very important so that ONLY the NEW Epics (Ogaliths Fiery Grasp II, Deepwater Choker II, ....) will work in the Tier System Recipes !!!

 

there are players who have been hoarding 100s of realm Epic drops for years (Ogaliths Fiery Grasp, Deepwater Choker, ...) & can invent dozens of the TIERED Epics on the 1st days once they are released & my suggestion counters that so that we ALL start from 0 to give every player an equal and even chance + this way the Epics values will NOT crush at the beginning & stay high for a very long time :)

 

I have only read the OP so sorry if what I posted has already been mentioned

I think it should work from actual level. You can only wear gear based on your actual level and find player page goes by actual level. Making PvP ranges work the same would keep things simpler.
