There were many reasons why PvP Seasons ultimately did no make it into the game. There were arguments against it from both sides of the PvP fence. PvP Seasons was not just a Ladder change but a total rethink on PvP attacks and the Bounty Board system.

 

It is always prudent to do a little research before passing comment and surmise on reasons why this particular implementation failed.

 

Unfortunately much of the info about PvP Seasons has been deleted from the forums but here are a couple of threads that I found that give details of arguments for and against and also reason for its ultimate demise.

Who really levels outside of a 2x anyway :P i'll lose 50 levels and probably gain 500. We only get like 3-4 content releases a year anyways 1-2 of which outside 2x lol.

I do, about once a week....  EoC folks are a small percentage of the community.... Us small fry count too....

This does not need more debating. Hoofmaster and I are both for a reroll with a cooldown on it's use. We'll likely implement it once the App is completed and out in the wild.

I liked this idea from the beginning but tbh, the best way this would work would be if there were either an option to keep the original task if the reroll is worse, or if there were a list of 3-5 random replacement quests.

 

 

 A cooldown of 48-72 hours is a must to minimize exploitation.   Possibly a limit of x times per 30-90 day period should also be imposed.....

When doing a GQ I am not really hunting SE, but they appear eventually. The same for Titans. What to do when I see a Titan? I take the opportunity to get more TKP as I am unable to secure one. In the case of SE, I always use a mercenary hoard, so I don't have the same problem. To me, the idea is to maximize the outcome.

 

As for the Titan Dbl, it only affects Titans. I think for GB should be the same, I mean, only affects global creatures. Now I know it is not like that; to my surprise. Initially I thought it was a bug, but according to other players, seems to be by design.

 

Hope BG/Hoof read these posts and clarify/solve it.

All "doubler" buffs affect stam in the same way (except quest hunter, which doesn't burn additional stam) regardless of what you hit with it.  This can be illustrated by the EP Titans.  These Titans are NOT (I'm told) doubled by TD.  You have to use QH since they are part of a quest.  But TD, if used, still uses up the stam, even though it doesn't increase the number of "kills" on those Titans for the quests.  We are advised when doing the Elemental quests to not use TD, since it's a waste of stam and of no benefit.

  

Titan hunters that use FSH will add all other beasts that spawn there to their "do not kill" list to optimize stam usage while Titan hunting.  They did so long before the buff for the same reason, and now that practice is even more applicable to the efficient use of stam.

 

If you trip over an SE while hunting (let's say it's a GC since most all of us can solo that), when you kill it you will burn the same stam as any other critter.   Of course the XP derived from the GC will reflect the level of the dbl used.    

 

I'm not saying I disagree with your proposal that extra stam burned be creature specific, I'm just saying I don't believe Hoof intended for it to be that way; that the extra expended stam is your sacrifice for deviating from the intended target.  

 

The realms I normally hunt GE critters in have no other spawns.  No Titans, no SE's, nothing but Global's.  They are small, a short walk from a portal, and low level. Why would I waste stam hunting other things at the same time when I can knock out my 9k, kill my GB, and then go elsewhere to hunt any other beast with my remaining stam?

Might be nice to have events where the guild can earn 'prizes', but the whole idea should be revamped in my opinion.

Like stated above.. smaller guilds would have no chance vs 100+ man guilds with half of them being EOC, big stamina banks and bored out of their minds  :D

And adding RP to this is out of the question in my opinion: RP = GvG, and nothing else.

There should not be a top100 ranking of guilds.
There can be, for braggin rigths, but not with additional prizes what so ever, just a goal to reach.

Just something in the order of the guild achievements we have right now.

 

I think teamplay (in guilds) should be much more promoted.

So idea's like this, with some tweaking, can work wonders for activity and game pleasure probably.

And help with the 'family' aspect of this game, which is the biggest reason many people are still playing this game even after playing for over 10 years.. their guild and friends they met during this time.

 

Give people more reasons to login to the game on weekly basis.

Give the EOC players with huge stamina banks something to 'work' for as a group :)

But please, do not make top100 guilds/payouts, this will discourage smaller guilds from even participating, since they can never be nr1.

Maybe introduce more achievements in general, and link a reward to it.

Doesn't have to be big, please don't make it to big and overpowered cows, lol

It's not really that vital. It's like sprinkles on ice cream. I can beat people with composing without depending. It's not necessary to know. You better believe i'd take advantage of the ladder bounty board gvg and everything else seeing someone or a guild with low level composing. It will be slaughter. Easy rp/tokens/medals :). I just can't see any good coming from this.
