#851769 Loading partitions - loading realms grrrrr

Posted by Zorg on 26 February 2014 - 07:27

Yeah my little bot that keeps the Webserver and Eldevin in sync died last night and it took me a few hours to fix him, poor thing. Meaning friends list and server counts would of been out of sync for a while.

He's back up and kicking now. :)

#851869 When an item is taken out of a loot bag, change the colour

Posted by Neon on 27 February 2014 - 00:03

This suggestion is for convenience.

When you get a loot bag drop and it contains.. say.. 1 fusion powder, 1 gem and a general loot. If you take the powder and gem it will stay as a "blue bag".

I'd like to see this changed, so if you took the rare gem out of that bag it would turn "green". If you took the rare gem and the fusion powder out of the bag it would turn "grey".

#851953 Help Mode

Posted by Ant on 27 February 2014 - 12:10

I always hear low levels complaining high lvls don't help which isn't nescessarily true.

How about something that would give higher lvl players the incentive to help lower players whilst also being benefitial to lower players as they get the help they need for instances. High levels will have stuff to do after hitting lvl 40 and help the community.

I'm not quite sure what to implement atm but maybe less repairs when activated, new rewards or something to that nature that is worth it.

Just an idea.

#851547 Eating, Potions etc

Posted by Jibbz on 25 February 2014 - 01:48

thank you but.. you still have to sit down? i think you should be able to eat while in combat :)

My first reaction wouldn't be to pull out a bowl of noodles and chow down while being attacked by plagued pirates lol.

#852024 Two Simple Gameplay Suggestions

Posted by Doja on 27 February 2014 - 19:23

I've been playing for about 1-2 months now and am a subscriber.  In the most recent update I loved the gathering change where you don't have to repeatedly click.  I have two more similar suggestions that would make the general gathering and related quests much better.

(1) When gathering resources, make the game recognize sacks within bags so that if there is space the resource will be placed there.

Comment: I've spent significant EP expanding my space and purchasing sacks.  Generally, I want to keep a certain amount of space in my primary inventory free so that temporary items, loot, and overflow (to be sold) get placed there.  Therefore, many of my sacks have to go in bags to leave space in my main inventory.  But its extremely annoying when trying to refill those sacks to move them out briefly, then move them back or, alternatively, manually place the gathered resources from my main inventory into those sacks within the bags.

(2) When doing daily quests that require more than 10 of an item, allow the game to remove the entire bunch from a single sack.  It makes no sense why I have to manually separate 5 or 10 before I can complete the quest.

These suggestions aren't balancing opinions where a strong argument can be made for either side.  Really don't see why these aren't already implemented.  Thanks!

#851505 a few suggestions (some people asked me to post new thread)

Posted by awollsd on 24 February 2014 - 21:22

i would like to make some suggestions to first open up my build possibilities including single class veriations and hybrid classes. some of the suggestions are.....

REWORK WHAT ATRIBUTES GIVE YOU

Vitality = Add maximum health and increase health regen.

  • Change to- Add max health, increase health regen, and add to armor/deffences (something like 0.5% in each deffence per point so 40 points would give 20% melee, ranged, spell deffence this is not the numbers that would be used just as an example..) would neen to SLIGHTLY reduce amounts given by armors.

Energy= Increase maximum mana and mana regen

  • Change to- Increase maximum mana and mana regen, and increase haste (set it to what haste from atributes was before you nerfed it OR set it a little higher but reduces haste from equips some), and add to healing power (maybe will need to test it)

Focus = increased accuracy and crit chance

  • Change it to - Increase accuracy and crit chance, and increase your dodge rates.

Melee, Sorc, and ranged = Increase attack power, haste, and dodge rate....

  • Change them to - increase attack power and crit chance

This will first off make the other atributes more usefull so makeing them more used. aswell as give people choices..  like currently WHY would i add a point in vit for 20 health when i could instead add it to sorc for more attack power, dodge,  and haste....  would much rather end the fight faster than have that little boost of health if i end fight faster then wouldn't need the extra health anyway.... aslong as had enough to not get 1hit killed.... same goes for energy.

It would also allow people to focus builds and/or choose hybrids..

Class's

  • Templar- Currently the change to impale helped them a little but they still require to worry more about dps than hp to be able to hold agro... average tank at lvl 40 has just above/below 700 dps. and thats not bad for a tank BUT they need about 800+ to be able to hold agro.. also tanks have little to no fun factor almost every single one i know specc into it ONLY because we need it..   i suggest   adding a late tree talent (possible a buff skill) that increases their dps a % of their HP or armor.. something like 5% of their hp or 10% of their armor... it could be a 10-20 second buff with a 5min CD so that its just something they can use at the start of the fight to gain control.

  • Warrior-Currently  personaly i think warriors are fine as are.. my only suggestion i would maybe have is make a talent increase number of targets for bloodbath so they have more options than just spamming maelstrom....  also i would make unburdned not require a 2h to encourage more hybrid builds..

  • Assassin -  currently you guys really hurt them with spires... you said you'ld fix it for them a long time ago yet we've not heard anything about it...  lets please fix that and i'ld suggest making leathal concoction not ground effect but target effect...  if i throw a bunch of poison on you is it going to matter if you walk out of the area???? let them be able to drop spires and leathal concoction and kite a bit. also make medium armor more useful for them  add dodge boost to ambidextrouse

  • ranger i know nothing about.... sorry :( i think they are good as are personaly but yeah i might be wrong..

  • Mage- are pretty good as is, people might hate me for it but really i'ld suggest changing their talents up a bit though.. instead of giving flat %'s to crit/haste instead give them % of their focus as crit and % of their energy as haste so they actualy have to build into one or the other.... no point adding talents to a talent that boosts crit based on focus point if you didn't add any focus and same for haste if didn't add energy (if you go with earlier changes) so then people choose one or the other or a lesser of each mixed...... but they shouldn't get both. also i'ld strongly suggest making engulf be castable on party members... why cant i cast it on the tank that is going to be standing there against the mobs?

  • Prophet- losing bene hurt.. not in the sense that prophet suck now but in the sense that benediction used to allow us  more freedom and flexibility but now with it in its current form prophet is pretty much limited to one build.. we can still heal just as well as always and its still easy just a lot more boring....  i really wish you all had tried my previous suggestion on bene... leave its CD alone... the reason it was OP was because it healed so much we only had to cast it and then not worry about anyhting else..... so please concider TRYING reverting its CD back but make it only heal about 150 per second thats a huge drop from the 1-2k per second it was healing when was OP.... Also i would really like to see some more dps option in prophet something like mages talents for frostbite and/or blizzard but with drawback so like increase damage of blizzard by 15%/30% you receive 50% healing power reduction for 30 seconds thats just an example i could think of more specifics if interested or you can think of your own just some damage options would be great.......

  • Hybrid- witht he current changes you guys did there aren't really many hybrid builds that are playable....  i think reverting some of them changes back aswell as making the atribute changes i suggested would open up more hybrid possbilities... also i would like to see inciting cry not require a shield... taunt doesn't require a shield and that makes sense why does inciting cry? let us have some hybrid tank builds....  also i think it would help if we was able to mix armor sets.... but the melee/sorc/ranged stat's be halfed when mixed set...  EXAMPLE: i wear most the light set and a couple pieces of heavy = armor set bonus's +5 melee, + 5 sorc, +10 vit, +10 energy. (the like atrib bonus's = the same current value, the unlike ones between the two sets = halved)

i know this is a really long post and few will read it but i was talking about these things in game and ppl asked me to post it so here it is.... also i'm sure some will dissagree thats fine but try to keep the thread free of snide arrogant remarks..wether you disagree or agree.

You gain 5/10% spell haste after critically healing.

i use crimson chain, benedition or dark prayer when they have critical i alway gain 10% spell hast but its not active with dogma

Nothing to disagree with here.

#851310 Ability to return to Forbidding Isle

Posted by Sage on 23 February 2014 - 14:02

Upon completing "Waking A Demon" returning to Forbidding Isle at Illaneska is impossible.

Since several players have asked about this... would it be possible to unlock the island for those who complete the quest "Waking A Demon"?  There are a lot of level 32 foraging resources on the island and it would be nice to have the ability to return.  When I completed the quest the foraging items didn't respawn until the next day however the slain demons did respawn so going back does have a danger element. With the ability slay the demons and finish the quest would HCS consider allowing us to return to forage on the island after finishing the quest please?

#851361 Overpowered AoE (and Aldadine gems)

Posted by ernzor on 23 February 2014 - 19:50

Haven't been gold grinding (assassin) so wont comment on that. Dint mind if others do, good on them.

Please don't start nerfing gems though. I know alot of people would be upset if you did after investing alot of time and coin into them.

#851083 New Game Content!

Posted by Neon on 22 February 2014 - 10:15

Tanks/Healers, The two most unplayed classes in nearly every MMORPG. You guys have made them lifeless and a very boring two classes to play, not knowing the facts i'd make a educated guess out of every 20 dps there is 1 healer 1 tank. The fact being, neither classes have any benefit out of dungeons and world bosses. Tanks can not AoE down mobs like all other classes which render their gold income by alot since the main and most efficient way of obtaining gold is leveling to 40 the fastest way possible, currently hit lvl 25 as mage then warrior to 40 gaining 1 level per hour after the level 25. Then killing mobs or abusing high drop rate mobs.

You realise if all classes had strong aoes and damage there would be no reason to have damage dealers? Mages and warriors are the only classes than can effectively grind mobs for gold, otherwise it's a waste of time invested for the gold/ph.

If you're looking to reach just end-game as fast as possible warrior or mage as the best choice, don't expect to take prophet, templar, assassin or ranger and reach end-game as fast as the other two. I think that's fairly balanced, 2 main AOE classes 2 main single target classes and 2 support classes.

As for the other stuff, HCS regularly give us updates and info on things to come, the only reason why everything is behind schedule is because they're such a small team and so much is in the process of being added (client, rendering, level update, content update, guilds, AH... etc).

This thread was pointless, just because you're upset cannot change the workspeed that they're going at. I've seen HCS members working on fixes and pushing out updates way past their work hours, and that's a regular thing.

While I do agree there is a lack of content there's still a decent amount of stuff to do. A large part of the stuff to do involves professions and achievements, but they might not be your thing.

Finally, instead of writing a complaint why not try to suggest your ideas? If you see no interest in the game then so be it, it's understandable than Eldevin won't be for everyone.

#851024 Disturbing

The Star of David is a sign of Judaism, not specifically of the holocaust. It is also a 6 pronged star, the star on the Mythos teachers uniform has 5 prongs.

#851068 Mass crafting alarmclock

Posted by Honza on 22 February 2014 - 07:59

few short suggestions:

  1. allow buying more than 99 units at once
  2. with craft all/ craft alot implement timer showing how long it will take yet
  3. make sound "alarmclock" when it is done

(some of us are pretending houseworks when crafting ;-) )

#850749 Weaponsmith profession XP

Posted by Honza on 20 February 2014 - 22:29

for me (I am lvl 24 WS atm):
lvl 21 item: Improved Bronze Throwing Blade (10 bronze bars + 1 coarse sharpening stone) >> 390xp/piece => 39xp/bar (35,45xp per material unit)
lvl 24 item: Refined Bronze Sword (14 bronze bars + 3 coarse sharpening stone) >> 539xp/piece => 38.5xp/bar (31.71xp per material unit)

Time wise:

throwing blade - 20x bronze + 10x coal (in average *1.25sec) + 10xbronze bar smelting (*5sec) + forging weapon (5s)= 37.5s + 50s + 5s crafting item = 390xp/92.5s = 4.216xp/sec

sword - 28x bronze + 14x coal + 14x bronze bar + crafting = 52.5s + 70s + 5s crafting item = 539xp/127.5s = 4.227 xp/sec

In this case the two are almost equal (sword actually gives you 36xp per hour more), but that's a bit poor given it's 3 levels higher

lvl 23 item Refined Bronze Dirk came from both point-of-view calculations even worse.

This definitely seems to look like inconsistency.

A failed Redemption due to having Redeemed buff halts auto attack, but if Redemption is successfully applied, auto attack continues.
